Movies I Have Seen in My Lifetime - A Work in Progress!!
by TheDVDKingofVirginia | created - 15 Jul 2017 | updated - 5 months ago | PublicI have always been a lover of films. I don't remember exactly what the first film was I ever saw but I know it was a Disney release or re-release. We would go to the theater to see family films whenever finances would allow. Before I ever started school, I began watching movies on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons that would be shown on local independent stations. Fast forward several years to when home video rentals became the newest craze. I bought my first VCR, this huge monster of a machine, when I was in the 10th grade. Renting movies became a new pastime. After getting my first car, I started going to the theater frequently. By the time I was in college, I would go to three or four movies every weekend. My first job was at a locally owned video store and I had access to thousands of titles. Even though I worked at a video store, I would still go to the theater on my days off. I went from the video store to working for a furniture manufacturer. We got half day Fridays off and Saturdays and Sundays. While working for the furniture plant, I would go see as many as five to six movies every weekend. In 2000, I started work for a major credit card company as a customer service specialist working mostly late second and third shift. My time spent at the theater was decreased significantly. In 2007, I became disabled with degenerative disc disease and progressive arthritis that I had been dealing with the previous decade or so. Sadly, my days at the theaters have ended. I spend most of my time now researching movies and watching ones I have purchased on DVD or Blu-Ray, or watching ones I had recorded from cable over the years, when my health will allow.
This is a list of films that I know, and can remember, that I have seen since I was born in late 1968. This list will include theatrical, cable/made for TV and direct to video titles. I will also be including mini-series as well since they are basically long format TV films. As an added bonus, and to the best of my knowledge, I will also be listing where, how I saw the film and/or when I first saw it! At some point I may have to split the list into several lists by decade, format, genre or some other grouping. As I see movies, or as I recall that I have seen movies, I will be updating this list. Please check back occasionally to see any updates. Enjoy!!
