Columbo (a part previously played by Bert Freed in "The Chevy Mystery Show: Enough Rope (#1.10)" (1960)) on stage in "Prescription: Murder" in 1962, which was later adapted into Prescription: Murder (1968) (TV) starring Peter Falk as Columbo. The play was touring the US prior to a planned Broadway run when Mitchell's final illness caused it to close.
