Surreal movie recommendations

by folser | created - 7 months ago | updated - 7 months ago | Public

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, IMDb used to have user forums. On a forum post for Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain, someone asked for recommendations for similar movies and filmmakers. Thus was born the greatest thread in IMDb forum history....

Note: Repeated recommendations and any notes from the poster have been preserved to the best of my ability

A few of these I was unable to track down on IMDb: Return to Light: A Spiritual Odyssey (2004) by Gregory Pearce [NateManD] - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gVtL8kI4g8 Sex, Gewalt und gute Laune (1982) by Jörg Buttgereit [alelorax-1] - https://letterboxd.com/film/sex-gewalt-und-gute-laune/ *beep* Blues [alelorax-1] - Title was censored Necro-fetish [alelorax-1]

Also mentioned: Unseen Cinema: Early American Avant-Garde Film 1894-1941 [tommy52] JIStory: Santiago Segura Corto Greatest Hits (1994) - compilation of short films [alelorax-1]
