As one of the fastest rising stars in Edm at the moment, it was really just a matter of time before we got a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix from Mr. Oliver Heldens. Keeping in suit with his deep house/groovy style, the two hours of music delivers exactly what you’d expect.
From the producer’s own hits like “Gecko” and “Koala,” to some of the biggest songs of 2014 (“Light Years Away,” “A Sky Full Of Stars,” “Blame,” etc.) the mix is a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. In fact, it could very well make a case for Best Essential Mix of 2014, as it definitely rivals some of the more impressive ones that we’ve heard from BBC Radio 1 this year. If nothing else, though, it’s a great way for the young DJ to cap off his truly incredible breakout year.

Eli Young Band is capable of great things as it showed with 2012’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” which featured one of the stronger choruses to come out of Nashville in years, as well as with Acm’s 2012 song of the year winner, “Crazy Girl.” The question is if the quartet, which releases “10,000 Towns, its third major label album, today, is content to keep hitting singles and doubles or if it will consistently swing for the fences and find material that matches lead singer Mike Eli’s vocal talents and the band’s overall abilities. (Eli is joined by guitarist James Young, bassist Jon Jones and drummer Chris Thompson). The answer is mixed. To its credit, Eli Young Band, though very capable of hooting and hollering with the best of them, hasn’t succumbed to the bro-country sound that is dominating Nashville right now. It has tried to collect »

He discovers life there is different, but whether it's better is a work in progress.
In real life, Sisto is a 39-year-old father of two: daughter Charlie and baby son Bastian. He got married to wife Addie a few months after his daughter was born, but Sisto has no regrets about taking the plunge.
"I love my family," he tells Zap2it. "I have a great wife. It took me a while to figure that out and commit, but now I'm really happy I did. She's a human being, and we're committed to each other. It's a nice thing. The kids are just amazing. It's a different level."
