What better way to learn about Ariana Grande’s journey with love than directly from her?
On Friday, Grande released her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, which chronicles the singer’s personal experience as she deals with the painful end of one relationship and the start of an exciting new one.
Rolling Stone described Eternal Sunshine as “a divorce album that goes through all the stages of grief” and captures Grande while she “navigates a new beginning with some of the most honest and inventive songs of her career so far.

Ariana Grande’s seventh album begins with a question she spends the rest of the album trying to answer: “How can I tell if I’m in the right relationship?” Five years ago, on her landmark album on Thank U, Next, it seemed certain that she would have that question figured out by now; in the bridge of that album’s title track, she sang about hoping that when she would eventually walk down the aisle it would be her first and last time.

Amazon has renewed the popular fantasy comedy series Good Omens for a third and final season.
Michael Sheen and David Tennant star in the adaptation of the best-selling novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Sheen plays Aziraphale, a fussy angel. Tennant is Crowley a fast-living demon. After millennia of working on opposite sides in the war between good and evil, the pair become close friends and allies.
Gaiman said the final season will “finish the story” he and the late Pratchett first plotted out back in 1989 and 2006. “Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end,” says Gaiman. “Season one was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World. Season two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less...

The end of the world is really coming this time: “Good Omens” has been renewed for a third and final season at Amazon.
Created by Neil Gaiman and based on the novel co-written by Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett, “Good Omens” follows the friendship between the fussy angel and rare-book dealer Aziraphale and fast-living demon Crowley, a pair of apocalypse-fighting, millennia-long best friends played by Michael Sheen and David Tennant, respectively.
The first season of the series debuted on Amazon’s Prime Video in 2019. At the time, it was intended as a limited series. But the show was renewed for a second season in 2021, which is when Gaiman revealed he had hatched the idea for a sequel with Pratchett before his death in 2015.
The second season debuted in July — amid the now-ended writers and actors strikes — and ended on a massive cliffhanger that suggested Gaiman had more planned before this heavenly tale was done.

“Harry Potter” star Emma Watson has joined Seth Rogen (“50/50,” “Knocked Up”) and Evan Goldberg’s directorial debut “End of the World,” an apocalyptic comedy. The kicker? She’ll be playing herself. The “End of the World” centers on Rogen, James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson, all playing themselves, stuck in Franco’s Los Angeles apartment during the apocalypse. The movie is based on a short film also starring Rogen and Baruchel dealing with the world’s demise.Watson joins a slew of other actors, not just those in this film, who appear in projects as themselves. Celebrities and Hollywood stars playing themselves often provide a tongue-in-cheek portrayal that pokes fun at their “real life” character. We love that we’re far enough from the white-hot popularity of Uggs and Juicy Couture sweat suits for the combination of the two to signify a very, very particular kind of person. We love it so much. We also love the spoiled bad girl steez Emma Watson will apparently be rocking as a bougie thief in Sophia Coppola‘s upcoming The Bling Ring. “Twitterers meet Nicki, Nicki meet twitterers : ),” the Perks of Being A Wallflower actress tweeted today, along with a snapshot of her fictional alter ego. We’re pretty sure…no…we’re positive we went to high school with Nicki…during which she nicknamed us “Dumptruck” and subjected us to a strict regimen of swirlies. Yeah, we’re pretty sure everyone went to high school with Nicki.

Emma Watson, Jason Segel and David Krumholtz to play themselves in End of the World. THR reports the actors are in talks to join the directorial debut of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. You may recall that the film is based on the short called Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse that featured Rogen and Jay Baruchel trying to survive the apocalypse in their apartment during the end of the world.
The feature story has now added James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson, as themselves stuck in Franco’s Los Angeles apartment during the apocalypse. The script reportedly "has fun with the actors, who might or might not make it out alive." I loved the trailer for the short, and am loving the cast so far. Who do you think will survive the apocalypse?

Emma Watson, Jason Segel and David Krumholtz have joined the fast-growing cast of "The End of the World," Seth Rogen's apocalypse comedy that already features James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson and maybe even Rihanna. Per THR, like those actors, Watson, Segel and Krumholtz will play variations of themselves in the new film. (According to Variety, Michael Cera might join up as well.)
Based on the short "Jay And Seth Vs. The Apocalypse," "End of the World" is about what happens to some of your favorite Hollywood celebrities when the apocalypse strikes. The action will reportedly take place during a party at James Franco's apartment, which could account for why stars like Watson and Rihanna would be hanging out with Team Apatow during end times. Cheekily, THR claims that not all the famous faces will "make it out alive," which jibes with what co-star...

We’ve known for a few months now that Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel and Evan Goldberg plan to turn comedy trailer Jay & Seth Vs. The Apocalypse into a full-fledged disaster / horror / comedy. With the film now titled End Of The World, the trio is adding yet more names to an already bulging cast, with Emma Watson, Jason Segel and David Krumholtz all agreeing to cameo as themselves. As you might suspect from the title, the film’s basic concept has Rogen and Baruchel playing themselves, holed up in a damaged apartment as the world crumbles around them. The cast also boasts pals James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson, all playing themselves and all stuck at Franco’s place, which we figure will become uncomfortable quickly. Word is that not everyone will survive to the end…Segel and Rogen are, of course, old pals and regular Judd Apatow...

The Divide (Xavier Gens, 2011)
To start off with, I need to say that whoever cut the trailer for Xavier Gens’s The Divide should get some kind of award. That damned trailer had me counting the minutes for this flick to hit the shelves. I can’t remember the last time that a trailer affected me like that.
Normally I see a trailer for a movie that I already know a little bit about, but in this case, I’d never even heard of The Divide and clicked on the trailer when it popped up online just because I’m a long time Michael Biehn fan. That damned trailer just filled me with dread and promised me a film that would disturb, upset, and destroy me.
Jump ahead a few months and I find myself eagerly hitting ‘play’ on the DVD. Yup, the first few minutes are disturbing,...

Hold on, amigo. Before you donate the contents of your bank account to Bart Simpson’s favorite charity, tell your boss where he can stick that twelve-dollar raise he gave you, and go sky-diving off Mount Rushmore–get a grip on yourself!

Imagine if Cortes never conquered Monteczuma. Imagine if the Aztecs expanded their empire from Tierra Del Fuego to Baffin Bay. Imagine if 2012 rolled around and that empire was plagued by a series of grisly murders that recalled the human sacrifices of ancient days?
No need to keep on imagining. It’s...

“So, this is the beginning of the End of the World?”
Ninja Gaiden 3 is almost here, the latest in the Ryu Hayabusa saga since the series’ relaunch in 2004. This game takes a slightly different direction than its predecessors. Now the infamous Dragon Sword has become one with Ryu. As Ryu takes down his opponents, he also suffers the fury of the sword.
In this trailer, you’ll get to see just what that means. Watch his right arm. It looks as though it’s heavily burned, but the “scarred” skin is really the pain inflicted by the Dragon Sword. It’s as though the Dragon Sword is infecting his arm with its own demon.
Ninja Gaiden 3 hits Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 20, 2012.

Abel Ferrara's apocalypse drama 4:44 Last Day On Earth has a new movie poster, exclusive to JoBlo.com! The film stars Willem Dafoe, Shanyn Leigh, Paul Hipp, and Natasha Lyonne and tells the story of a group of New Yorkers who know exactly when the world is going to end and how it affects their last hours on Earth. There are three kinds of post-apocalytpic movies out there: comedies (Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, Zombieland), balls out action (Mad Max), or existential drama...

Last week, we got a good look at the characters of Ice Age: Continental Drift. Today, we have a trailer for the fourth Ice Age movie, which has the characters set off on an adventure at sea, which includes battling pirates (the furry kind). Based on the trailer, the shifting of the continents may actually be the result of yet another acorn-related mishap involving Scrat, the saber-tooth squirrel. Go figure! Either that, or Sid.s indigestion is to blame. The trailer below, courtesy of iTunes, shows the aftermath of Scrat.s acorn incident, and how it sets Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) on an all new adventure. Pirates, danger, and glaciers ahead! The classic Rem hit .It.s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine). certainly seems like a fitting song to set the trailer to, given the drastically...

In the classic “End of the World” comedy sketch starring Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, a slapdash cult goes up into some mountains in an effort to escape the imminent apocalyptic wind. “We shall be safe up here, safe as houses,” intones the cult leader. “And, err, what will happen to the houses?” asks a follower. “Well naturally they’ll all be swept away and consumed by fire,” the leader replies, matter-of-factly. Safe houses: they so rarely live up to their name.
It doesn’t appear that way at this film’s opening, of course. We begin with a sedentary montage of protagonist Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) going about his business in beautiful Capetown – a good half of it with his shirt off, naturally. He trundles into town on his motorbike, sips cocktails with his French belle by the beach, showers with her, and then wanders off to work. That...

This looks like a pretty weird one. Imagine if Lars Von Trier's Melancholia had actually been a dramedy about a lonely man trying to reconnect with a high school sweetheart but ends up falling for his ditzy neighbour instead. Sounds pretty horrific, right? Well, that might give you some idea of what to expect from the trailer for Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, a new film starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley. At the very least it seems like a somewhat original, albeit tonally awkward, take on the post-apocalyptic genre. The trailer actually has some interesting and potentially funny ideas about how different people might react if they were told the world was going to end in three weeks, the problem is that the apocalypse just seems like window dressing for just another stereotypically cute indie film. The movie is written and directed by Lorene Scafaria...

If the world were coming to an end, we wouldn't mind spending our last couple of weeks with Steve Carell and Keira Knightley.
After Lars Von Trier's sad-sack approach to the end of days in "Melancholia," it's something of a relief to see a film that finds some humor in the impending apocalypse. "Seeking a Friend For the End of the World" dares to dream that your final days on Earth might be your best ever, especially if every day suddenly became "Casual Friday" at work.
Steve Carell stars as a man whose midlife crisis comes right before the end of all life on Earth, which is being brought on by an asteroid that not even Bruce Willis can keep from crashing into the planet. He decides to spend his last days looking for his high school sweetheart, a quest on which he's accompanied by a kooky free spirit...

30 Rock, Season 6, Episode 2, “Idiots are People Two!”
Written by Robert Carlock
Directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller
Airs Thursdays at 8pm Et on NBC
Tonight on 30 Rock an attempt is made to deal with Tracy Morgan’s homophobic outburst this summer, and I’m not sure they wouldn’t have been better off leaving it alone. It’s not that the show isn’t capable of handling touchy political issues, last season’s “Tgs Hates Women” was one of the best episodes of the show’s run. It dealt with the perceived misogyny inherent in modern comedy (even more of an issue today with David Letterman’s talent booker being fired this week for claiming female comedians aren’t as funny as men), the Olivia Munn/Jezebel spat and female gross out comics like Sarah Silverman with a measure of insight and more importantly a level of humor that is completely absent from tonight’s episode.

In keeping with the theme of love, family, and relationship from my last post, I reached out to some famous friends to see what their thoughts were on the subject.
Singer/songwriter Matt Alber, filmmaker and photographer Bruce Labruce, actor and musician Daniela Sea (from Showtime's The L Word), TV personality and activist Danny Roberts (from MTV's Real World: New Orleans), drag superstar and electrosleeze pioneer Jackie Beat, composer and singer Holcombe Waller, and "Charlie" Swimwear designer Matthew Zink all weighed in on the same five questions:
1. If you could sum up your concept of "relationships" in one word, what would it be?
2. What is your favorite love song of all time?
3. If you could choose any actor to play you in the movie version of your life, who would it be? What about them is you?
4. How has the relationship between your mother and father influenced your ideas about love and relationships?...

With his biggest turns of late being minor appearances in Cop Out and Scream 4 — also, to be perfectly honest, not paying any attention to the guy — had me thinking that Adam Brody was a done deal, but Variety brings us news to the contrary. They’re reporting that the actor will soon lead two films: Neil Labute‘s Some Girls, which is being directed by Jennifer Getzinger, as well as Welcome to the Jungle, from director Rob Meltzer.
The first of those centers on “a successful writer who, before getting married, decides to travel across the country to meet his four ex-girlfriends in a series of hotel rooms”; expect them all to do terrible things and not feel the least bit of guilt about it. We're coming up on another end of the world prediction, but this one's done by the Mayans, so, y'know, it's serious. But it was serious twelve years ago, too.
Remember the year 2000? End of the world, the machines take over, the aliens invade. How about in 1997, when the human race finished its transformation into a totalitarian society on a planet consumed by toxic waste? Neither do I. But as humans always do, we panicked. We built bomb shelters, stocked up on Twinkies and kerosine, and Hollywood moved quickly to capitalize on our fears by filming a ton of end-of-the-world films, and if those films and TV shows outlive us, some future civilization will believe all those things have truly happened. Here are just a few of the worst movie future predictions.
Note: Back to the Future, you have three years, do you hear me? I want hoverboards, hovercars and powerlacing sneakers.

Keira Knightley stars as patient-turned-psychiatrist Sabina Spielrein in David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, which expands into theaters across the country this week. The film came out in limited release last Fall, and quickly earned notoriety for the racy sex scenes Keira shares with her hot costar Michael Fassbender, who plays Carl Jung. Yesterday, Keira spoke about working with both Michael and David. Keira shared excitement for the critical acclaim Michael's earned for another daring performance in Shame, a movie she liked quite a bit. She also spoke about her other upcoming projects, Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, the directorial debut from Lorene Scafaria featuring Steve Carell, and a remake of Anna Karenina. Mike Schur and his fellow "Parks and Recreation" writers knew at the start of this season they were going to take Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben (Adam Scott) through some romantic travails.
They weren't as sure, however, about playing it out in such a concentrated way, where the last five episodes of the fall ("End of the World" through "Citizen Knope") focused heavily on their relationship.
"We knew we had this big Ben-Leslie arc to do, which is them breaking up at the beginning of the year and then getting back together," Schur tells Zap2it. "We had a debate about whether we should parse those episodes out slowly over the course of the season."
The show obviously went the opposite direction, but Schur admits he was nervous about the decision. "It was several stories in a row that kept dealing with a similar theme, but I just kept coming...

2012 is officially underway and at this point, we should, more or less, have a good idea of how the calendar year is going to look as far as movie releases go. That doesn.t mean things can.t change, as is the case for John Hillcoat.s upcoming gangster drama Wettest County, which was originally slated for an April release and is now being held off until August. Based on a true story, Wettest County follows the Bondurants brothers, three .rural hard-men. with rebellious natures who went on to become bootleggers during the Depression. Per Variety, the film was originally set to release in theaters on April 20th, however, it would.ve been sharing a weekend with a number of other anticipated films, including Scary Movie 5, The Lucky One, Lockout, Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, House at the End of the Street, and Disney.s Chimpanzee.

Well here we are in the last week of December, coming up on another 365 days of anger at the entertainment industry. In 52 installments, I’ve been upset about a wide range of topics, criticized directors, defended 3D, argued with my peers and said the f-word a whole lot, much to the disappointment of my mother. As a way of saying so long to 2011 and hello to the End of the World as We Know It (aka 2012), I wanted to take a brief look back at the previous year and pull the heaviest themes from Boiling Point and take a look at the recipients of my rage. So take off your shoes, grab a warm cup of cocoa and let’s take this journey together, provided you’re nowhere near me. If by some strange miracle you are near me, put your shoes on, put down my coffee cup and get the fuck out of my house. The...
