Some part of the industry continued to make films fitting the darker and more realistic perceptions of the world (due to early developments in the Cold War), but the industry was able to go back to creating the spectacles of imagination in new technological presentations. It's during this time, color was introduced the medium as well as technical developments that allowed films to be presented in larger-than-life ways. It's with these new efforts the industry was attempting to combat the ever-growing popularity and distribution of television.
