The Master of suspense and inventor of the MCGuffin and a lot of astonishing new filming techniques has made a lot of superb films including Masterpieces like Psycho,Rear Window,Vertigo,Rebecca or North by Northwest only a few of his many films were sub par. A real shame that even tough he was nomineted 5 times he could never win an Academy Award.

Dance of the Vampires,Chinatown,Rosmarys Baby and the Pianist for which he finally received his Oscar and the Golden Palm are the best Films of the versatile polish Director. Ghostwriter,Repulsion,Le Loctaire and Tess were also pretty successfull quality films.

The King of the intellectuell comedy has recently finally left Manhatten and start shooting films in Europe. A critics Darling and 3 times Oscar Winner. Manhatten Anni Hall and Hanna and her Sisters are considered as his best film but also recent efforts like for example Vicky Christina Barcelona and Match Point show that he still can deliver quality stuff.
