A french movie that you will only enjoy if you watch it in french. The dubbed version that came to my hands ruined the whole thing because of the artificial use of English, the weird dialogues and accent. That said, the plot, acting and settings are good enough to make the movie one of those you would watch more than once and enjoy it.

Director: Uwe Boll | Stars: Jonathan Cherry, Tyron Leitso, Clint Howard, Ona Grauer

Votes: 38,560 | Gross: $10.25M

People are too hard on Uwe Boll. I have certainly watched worse, although I won't deny this one was a joke, as seen in the following dialogues: A:"You killed all these people and experimented on them to be eternal! Why????" B:"To be inmortal". C:"But why???" D:"To live forever". (Yeah, I think we, the audience, perhaps considered mentally disabled by the writers -because who else would watch this movie otherwise-, got it.) And the memorable scene where, after meeting the first horde of zombies in an isolated island, the idiot teenagers manage to barricade themselves in a cottage and Einstein girl looks around to find an ancient bookshelf, picks one book randomly and says: "Look, a book! Perhaps it will give us some answers!" Yeah, I once heard books had information as well, adaptable to any situation you are going through, programmable and zombie friendly. The derisory thing is that it did give all the answers since it happened to be the villain's diary, but written in third person, for some irrational reason. Lmfao. A great comedy.

Director: Robin Campillo | Stars: Géraldine Pailhas, Jonathan Zaccaï, Frédéric Pierrot, Victor Garrivier

Votes: 2,978

A piece of art with no action, a different and more sociological sort of movie regarding walking dead with a plan and how the living ones (the system and the families) have to adapt to meeting their loved ones after death, who are changed and cold, but there among them still, generating a cost to society, many unanswered questions and a general discomfort. Until...

31. Flight of the Living Dead (2007)

Director: Scott Thomas | Stars: David Chisum, Kristen Kerr, Kevin J. O'Connor, Richard Tyson

Votes: 9,529

Depending where you place this movie, you will have two different perspectives of it. Compared to the traditional good zombie movies, it's a disgrace to the genre, but compared to low budget, cheap, badly acted and badly shot movies with an annoying plot, like "The quick and the undead", this is by far a better choice.

32. Mutants (2009)

R | 95 min | Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi

In the middle of a zombie apocalypse, a resourceful couple hides out in an isolated abandoned building. The woman is pregnant and the man is infected, slowly transforming into the kind of inhuman monster they are trying to escape.

Director: David Morley | Stars: Hélène de Fougerolles, Francis Renaud, Dida Diafat, Marie-Sohna Condé

Votes: 4,262

Slow, boring at times, but with a claustrophobic atmosphere. Well shot, good acting, good environment and totally worth it, mainly because, being french, it lacks the dialogical cliches.

Watch this if you are out of options and craving for some zombies. Not really worth the time.

Blood-thirsty creatures await a pack of divers who become trapped in an underwater cave network.

Director: Bruce Hunt | Stars: Piper Perabo, Morris Chestnut, Cole Hauser, Eddie Cibrian

Votes: 41,437 | Gross: $15.01M

Too bad there was never a sequel, because the end is open to a second part, this time on the surface of the earth. The reviews aren't entirely in favour of it, but I found it amazing. The plot combines horror, adventure, survival skills, a NatGeo documentary and a good plot with good acting. I personally loved it.

Director: Jon Harris | Stars: Michael J. Reynolds, Shauna Macdonald, Jessika Williams, Douglas Hodge

Votes: 51,579

Whilst the first one was a piece of art, this one is quite the opposite. Absurd from the beginning, annoying characters and all the respect we had for the main character in the first one is lost here. Watch it, nonetheless, because, compared to the average horror/ survival movie, it's still a good option, but mind the comedy twists not meant to be comic.

38. Dead Snow (2009)

Not Rated | 91 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

61 Metascore

Director: Tommy Wirkola | Stars: Jeppe Beck Laursen, Charlotte Frogner, Jenny Skavlan, Geir Vegar Hoel

Votes: 70,016 | Gross: $0.04M

Don't get laid in horror movies, or you will be the first choice to murder brutally. Nazie zombies with morals, it makes a lot of sense. Watchable and entertaining, mainly a comedy when you expect survival skills.

Director: Simon Hunter | Stars: Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, Devon Aoki, Sean Pertwee

Votes: 27,140 | Gross: $0.01M

There is nothing extraordinary in this movie, but when you have watched all the zombie flicks around and Saturday night is nigh, it might be a good choice. The acting, plot, effects and atmosphere might not be outstanding, but they were taken seriously and the product is a respectable movie.

Director: Mark McQueen | Stars: Danny Dyer, Craig Fairbrass, MyAnna Buring, Jaime Murray

Votes: 5,153

This is a movie about a massive infection resulting from some pharmaceutical testing on subjects. Technically, the infected are zombies because they die before attacking. Not bad, but the plot is weak, a weak mixture of I'm legend with 28 days later, except that the psychological development of the characters is quite poor and boring in contrast.

44. I Am Omega (2006 Video)

Director: Bruce McDonald | Stars: Stephen McHattie, Lisa Houle, Georgina Reilly, Hrant Alianak

Votes: 35,478

A movie about mass infection, triggered by the usage of certain words. Abstract, smart and totally far from the usual clichés, it offers the addicting zombie attacks with a completely different insight. It all takes place at a radio station, with the exception of a few outside shots. The crew managed to make out of a low budget movie a piece of art. Totally recommendable, neatly acted, excellent script, but with linguistic metaphors not suitable for those seeking a plain and simple plot. Quite original.

Director: Gerald Nott | Stars: Clint Hummel, Toar Campbell, Dion Day, Nicola Giacobbe

Votes: 1,441

80 something years after a zombie outbreak, people survive hunting zombies for a living. Basically the worst movie I've watched in a long time. Dreadfully acted, with a bad setting, awful plot and many mistakes. The make up is worse than what any of us could wear for a zombie party, there is no concept of rottenness and I felt annoyed at the careless treatment of the viewer the entire time. I know one has to be tolerant with very low budget movies, but the budget here wasn't THAT low to destroy a movie like this. I felt insulted. The best thing in this movie is its cover.

Set in Africa, with bad make-up, slow zombies that walk in tip toes, a boring script with a few forced moments like the appearance of the baby in ths story and how it is sorted. I watched it till the end out of respect but I had to fight sleep and wouldn't watch it again.

Director: Gary Ugarek | Stars: Jim Krut, Joseph D. Durbin, Chris L. Clark, Josh Davidson

Votes: 362 | Gross: $0.00M

Definitely one of the worst movies I have watched lately, and in case you agree and want to express it in the forums, make sure you take all the artillery with you: The director lives in them defending it and confronting anyone who thinks otherwise, like a jealous troll, to the point anything you say that is not complimentary is definitely wrong and ill-intended. The truth is that the acting is quite bad, the script is forced, the light is dreadful and one would think that since you are investing money on a movie and take it so seriously, you would at least write better dialogues. Even the cursing is forced and seems unnatural. Plus the story is nothing out of this world. For an independant movie it depended terribly on every cliché out there to be used. The little girl, the obvious and ridiculous phone call, the lousy acting, an epic fail. It's a pity because it's clear that they wanted to relase a serious product and not a joke. Perhaps next time.
