Family Feud is often thought of as a family-friendly show. Based on some of the questions and answers, that isn’t always the case. In a recent episode, host Steve Harvey shamed a contestant for their particularly raunchy response. So, what did they have to say?
Family Feud Not Always So Family-Friendly
Even though Family Feud is generally thought of as a family-friendly program, that isn’t always the case. Veteran watchers will remember host Richard Dawson, who would kiss all of the female contestants. This type of behavior absolutely would not pass today. However, the one common thread is that there are still some raunchy answers to raunchy questions.
As Family Feud watchers have seen, even seemingly innocent survey questions can generate some Nsfw answers. The one major difference with the show today is that those moments regularly get made into shorter clips, which then go viral on social media.

Intro: At the time of writing this episode of Arnie Revisited, it’s just been confirmed that Hollywood is once again scouring popular IP with the upcoming reboot of The Running Man from Edgar Wright, with rising star Glen Powell attached to the project. The Top Gun: Maverick actor is certainly hot property right now, having just cosied up to Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You. However, it was another actor, whose star was crashing through the sky in the 80s, who first took on the adaptation of Stephen King’s short story, which was written under his Richard Bachman pen name.
Arnie had just battled camouflaged alien hunters in Predator, released in June 1987, and the same year saw him take on another action sci-fi project, albeit this time with less aliens but similarly memorable action and one-liners. It was quite a departure from the original short story, but the...

Chita Rivera, the sultry singer, dancer and actress who commanded the Broadway stage for more than a half-century, has died. She was 91.
Rivera died peacefully in New York on Tuesday, following a brief illness, her daughter, Lisa Mordente, shared in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
Known for her long, sleek legs, smoldering green eyes and lusty singing voice, the two-time Tony Award winner originated some of musical theater’s most iconic characters.
When West Side Story bowed in 1957, it was Rivera singing about life in America as the fiery Puerto Rican transplant Anita. As Rose Grant, the long-suffering girlfriend of songwriter Albert Peterson, Rivera received top billing over Dick Van Dyke in 1960’s Bye Bye Birdie. In 1975, she made the stage sizzle with “All That Jazz” as Velma Kelly in Chicago. And the 1993 musical adaptation of Kiss of the Spider Woman put her in the spotlight as the sexy Spider Woman.

Richard Bachman's 1982 novel "The Running Man" is set in the far-off future of 2025 when corporate America is ruling the country, people are having trouble finding work, and appearing on salacious government-run game shows seems like a viable way to make money.
Contestants in "The Running Man" are deemed to be enemies of the state and are sentenced to execution. They are then set loose and hunted by government assassins, each one outfitted with a colorful gimmick. The contestants earn $100 for every hour they stay alive, with a $100 bonus for each cop they kill. If they live for 30 days, they win a billion dollars. The public takes bets on how long the contestants will survive before their inevitable slaughter.
The 1987 feature film adaptation of "The Running Man," directed by Paul Michael Glaser and written by Steven E. de Souza, changed the premise slightly. Now set in 2017, the film sees Ben Richards...

Exclusive: As the horses near the starting gate for Saturday’s running of the Kentucky Derby, Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions has lined up twin projects about Rich Strike, the upset winner of last year’s race.
Omaha is teaming with Amazon Prime Video to develop both a documentary and a scripted film based on the improbable win by the 80-to-1 longshot. The projects center on trainer Eric Reed, who overcame tragedy to engineer one of the biggest stunners in the nearly 150-year history of the Derby.
The scripted feature is a first for Omaha, which Manning launched after retiring from the NFL in 2016. Earlier this week, Deadline was the first to report on the company’s first foray into scripted comedy at NBC. Peter Chernin-backed non-scripted specialist Words + Pictures is also a producer of the documentary project.

In The Show, a thriller directed by Giancarlo Esposito (of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame), Josh Duhamel plays Adam Rogers, a reality show host who finds himself in an unusual situation.
Rogers is a Chris Harrison-like figure who hosts a dating show that ends in an attempted murder, wherein the runner-up tries to shoot and kill the winner.
As a result of Rogers' quick thinking, he is heralded as a "national hero" (here, James Franco plays an excitable morning show host who heaps praise on Rogers), and...

Our lookback through the screen adaptations of Stephen King brings us to Arnold Schwarzenegger, and The Running Man...
The film: In the totalitarian dystopia of 2017, Ben Richards (Arnold Schwarzenegger) finds himself wrongly convicted and sent to prison. Recaptured after an escape attempt, he’s placed into a television gameshow called The Running Man, in which prison convicts attempt to stay alive in the Game Zone in order to achieve prizes such as a suspended sentence or even a pardon. However, Richards has links to the Resistance and they’re on hand to assist with his game-changing TV appearance.
To say that The Running Man is a loose adaptation of Stephen King’s novel of the same name, published under his pseudonym Richard Bachman, is something of an understatement. Stephen E. de Souza takes a hacksaw to the original everyman Ben Richards, an unemployed family man desperate...

Boyz n the Hood was a history-maker. It made John Singleton the youngest person ever nominated for a Best Director Oscar and the first African-American honored in the category. If those celebrating that landmark had gotten a peek into America 25 years after Boyz n the Hood’s release, they’d probably be rather disappointed — probably some mix of horrified and furious too. As Black Lives Matter protests make headlines following the deaths of Philander Castile and Alton Sterling, and as the Academy recovers from a season marked by the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite (though, on the other hand, Broadway got #TonysSoBlack trending), today marks a quarter century since Boyz n the Hood opened in theaters. Though the 1992 Oscar nominations announcement came with the notable milestone for Singleton, the release of the movie in July 1991 was marked by tragedy: Despite the film’s concluding words, “Increase the Peace,” the movie’s opening weekend...

If you’ve ever watched Family Feud I’m sure you know the kinds of blunders families have had over the years. From sexual undertones to answers that simply boggle the mind, the show has had it’s fair share of memorable moments. But that’s the whole point right? The pressure of time makes a human being answer questions in a way that they’re not used to thus making some of the things that roll off their tongues quite funny. Since the show’s inception we’ve seen the likes of Richard Dawson harass the women, Louie Anderson be loud and annoying, that Ray guy

Meryl Streep, who is officially a genius angel sent from a better dimension, is funding a screenwriting lab for women over 40. The initiative aims to create opportunities for that contingent, and it'll be run by New York Women in Film and Television and Iris, a collective of women filmmakers. Because this idea is so brilliant, we'll toast a bunch of 40+-year-old female screenwriters whose works are available on Netflix now. The Kids are All Right (Lisa Cholodenko) Aside from the fact that "The Kids are All Right" feels like a prime James L. Arnold Schwarzenegger has come back in a big way. Following his pretty successful time as the Governator…I mean, the Governor of California, Arnie stepped back onto the big screen in bit parts and leading roles alike, doing everything from stints with The Expendables to ludicrously enjoyable outings as badass sheriffs and convicted criminals. But Arnold Schwarzenegger is hoping to remain true to his roots, as he steps back into his iconic T-800 part in Terminator: Genisys and prepares for the possibility of both a Twins and Conan return. Now, we can add The Running Man to list of iconic Arnie remakes/sequels that the action star has on the dock.

I’m sure there are going to be those who are just sick and tired of How I Met Your Mother at this point. Heck, I’m not even sure – I know. How could you not be? You’ve been waiting near on nine years for the answer to the question: How did Ted meet his future bride? I can always hear long, exaggerated groans in regards to this, the final season’s elongated form of storytelling. Stretching out a single weekend into 24 episodes was never going to please everybody, but there’s a point to it all. A lot can happen in a weekend and Himym needs every minute to build to its long-planned (we hope) conclusion. Unlike every other season that preceded it, there are a crapton of moving pieces in Season 9, easily making it the most intricate and well thought out season to date. That doesn’t...

How I Met Your Mother Season 9, Episode 12 “Unpause”
Written by Chris Harris
Directed by Pamela Fryman
Airs Monday nights at 8pm Et on CBS
If there’s one thing How I Met Your Mother‘s always been consistent with over the years, it’s the idea of hope. Knowing from episode one that Ted Mosby would have his happy ending frames the entire show as a love story, a reflection on the many mistakes, coincidences, and bad decisions at 2am that provide us the opportunities to grow into better versions of ourselves. A person’s luck can always change, for better or worse – and even though Ted’s mother still insists that nothing good ever happens in the darkest hours of the night, the opening and closing scenes to “Unpause” are a reminder of what makes Himym‘s story so endearing: all it takes is one night, one experience, one...

Dumb Dora was so dumb that she didn’t realize this week marks the 40th anniversary of Match Game‘s ’70s incarnation. That’s right: The game show that brought you Gene Rayburn’s Neanderthal posture, that funky think music, and the exploits of Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Richard Dawson and many more is 40 years old. It’s an irreplaceable treasure. There is no show like it, and I’m including other celebrity-dappled games like Hollywood Squares and Tattletales in that estimation.
Let’s celebrate with an old-fashioned countdown: the 10 best celebrities in Match Game
10. Gary Burghoff
Always the most cherished understudy in the ever-important Top Right chair, Burghoff was pleasant and game without being histrionic. Always on my Radar.
9. Elaine Joyce
Once and for all, the only Bottom Left-seated celebrity who could be both the ditzy blonde and a self-aware, naughty player too. She married Neil Simon, guys.

It happens every year: a beloved celeb gets left out of the annual Oscars In Memoriam segment. So who ended up getting snubbed this year? Andy Griffith was the most noticeable star not on the list. The actor, who passed away last July, rose to prominence with his role in Elia Kazan's "A Face in the Crowd," along with the television series "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Matlock." Actor Alex Karras also missed out on the memorial tribute. Karras had starred in films including "Blazing Saddles" and "Buffalo '66." Another big omission: Richard Dawson, who, in addition to his hosting duties on "Family Feud," appeared in such films as "The Running Man" and the TV show "Hogan's Heroes." However, as Deadline points out, those three ended up getting honored on the Academy's website, in a gallery paying tribute to those we lost this past year. Granted, there were even more snubs on there,...

I can't help that I'm obsessed with lists, so look out: 60 Minutes conducted a poll in tandem with Vanity Fair that asked viewers to name their favorite sitcom of all time. Here were the seven available options and the percentage of votes each garnered:

3. Friends 16%
4. Cheers 14%
5. Arrested Development 7%
6. The Mary Tyler Moore Show 6%

Get this: Scream may soon be a TV series. I don't know what to say about that. I'm thrilled? I'm hyperventilating? I deserve this? Kind of. It's like how I feel about the new Tomb Raider video game -- the franchise is a delectable Werther's Original from my childhood, and unfortunately I'm smart enough to know it should stay that way. Because this world? The one we live in? Isn't good enough to protect the things we cared about when we were 13. This world wants to turn Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory into goblinesque Tim Burton pornography. It wants Richard Karn to tarnish Richard Dawson's Family Feud legacy. It wants Madonna to direct.
Fortunately, Scream has jaundiced only slightly since its three sequels slithered into being. Phew, honestly. But with a TV show potentially in the works, I'm very worried that we're on the cusp of Scream's final breath,...

"I crossed paths with a lot of the people who had done 'Match Game' -- like Brett Somers and Charles Nelson Reilly -- and 'Hollywood Squares' when I hosted it, but I never met Richard.
"He definitely put his mark on that show," Bergeron adds with great respect for Dawson's "Family Feud" spontaneity, an approach he clearly enjoys using himself. "He talked about it in one of the interviews I watched; he had that element of Groucho Marx, where you were kind of waiting for whatever was going to happen. You could poke some gentle fun."

Late British actor and U.S. game show legend Richard Dawson was diagnosed with cancer just three weeks before his death on Saturday.
The Hogan's Heroes star, who later became known as the lovable host of America's Family Feuds, died in Los Angeles from complications of esophageal cancer.
His son Gary - from the presenter's marriage to British bombshell Diana Dors - reveals his dad only learned he was battling the disease shortly before his passing, after seeking help from doctors for what he thought was heartburn.
Dawson's first radiation treatment didn't go smoothly and he suffered a heart attack during the session.
Gary Dawson tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "It all just kind of happened really quickly."
Dawson passed away surrounded by his family and Gary is happy he wasn't in pain for too long.
He says, "Luckily, he didn't have to go through all the bad treatments and stuff... We all got to say goodbye. When we were saying goodbye, his eyes popped open. He hugged us. It was a beautiful moment."...

We rarely associate hotness with game show hosting, but why is that? It takes bravado, rigidity, and charisma to run a good game show, and I'd say the same rubric applies to male strippers and So You Think You Can Dance contestants. In honor of the late Richard Dawson, the original host of Family Feud and an unforgettable Match Game panelist, I'll be tallying the hottest men of televised gaming. Please remember to phrase your cat-calls in the form of question.
10. Jeff Probst, Rock & Roll Jeopardy
Though he only hosted VH1's Jeopardy! spinoff from 1998 to 2001, Jeff Probst's dimpled cuteness and conversational hosting style were enough to substantiate him as a great emcee. Naturally he's better remembered for hosting Survivor for all of its 5,700 cycles, but he looked mighty fine standing behind Trebek's podium.
9. Richard Dawson, Family Feud
Richard Dawson was most known for smooching contestants and calling out "Survey says!
