1. The Book of Eli (2010)

R | 118 min | Action, Adventure, Drama

53 Metascore

A drifter fights his way across a ravaged, post-apocalyptic America while protecting a sacred book that holds the secrets to humanity's salvation.

Directors: Albert Hughes, Allen Hughes | Stars: Denzel Washington, Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson, Gary Oldman

Votes: 339,352 | Gross: $94.84M

By far the worst and misleading film ever done. I was shocked to see Denzel Washington to be part of this movie made by a ultra-fanatic of catholic religion. The cheap way the movie is trying to make look atheism as a bad thing and faith and the damn bible as a good one just made me really angry. So the main character of the movie is ACTUALLY blind, but his knowledge of the bible makes him see his enemies, their attacks and plots, this movie is rotten to the core.

2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

PG | 152 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy

65 Metascore

An orphaned boy enrolls in a school of wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world.

Director: Chris Columbus | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Richard Harris

Votes: 856,060 | Gross: $317.58M

Yes, this film series has been really popular and I can't really understand why. Harry Potter is supposed to be the greatest magician of all time, however in every film somebody else has to save his pathetic ass. As I said before, popular does not mean good, and this film is proof of it. I've just posted the first part of this saga, but of course it includes all that has been and will be done. Potter can take his little wand, shove it and disappear.

3. The Hunger Games (2012)

PG-13 | 142 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

68 Metascore

Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games: a televised competition in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight to the death.

Director: Gary Ross | Stars: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci

Votes: 1,003,679 | Gross: $408.01M

4. Avatar (2009)

PG-13 | 162 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

83 Metascore

A paraplegic Marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.

Director: James Cameron | Stars: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez

Votes: 1,386,429 | Gross: $760.51M

With little worth beyond its ground-breaking visuals this movie should have an "honor" place amongst the worst movies ever done. Boring, poor and simplistic story, alongside a pathetic acting from everybody. The most overrated movie in history.

5. Twilight (I) (2008)

PG-13 | 122 min | Drama, Fantasy, Romance

56 Metascore

When Bella Swan moves to a small town in the Pacific Northwest, she falls in love with Edward Cullen, a mysterious classmate who reveals himself to be a 108-year-old vampire.

Director: Catherine Hardwicke | Stars: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Sarah Clarke

Votes: 487,570 | Gross: $192.77M

Another cheap story of love, involving vampires and humans who cannot be together for obvious reasons, but love can overcome anything, blah, blah, blah. I can understand that this flatulent teen-targeret movie can be popular amongst girls from 12 - 15 years old but this seems to be enough popular to have its own four-parts. So, include the whole saga here.

6. 28 Weeks Later (2007)

R | 100 min | Horror, Sci-Fi

78 Metascore

Six months after the rage virus was inflicted on the population of Great Britain, the US Army helps to secure a small area of London for the survivors to repopulate and start again. But not everything goes according to plan.

Director: Juan Carlos Fresnadillo | Stars: Jeremy Renner, Rose Byrne, Robert Carlyle, Harold Perrineau

Votes: 293,828 | Gross: $28.64M

Another "virus-spread" movie, where everybody gets infected and they are trying to find a cure but suddendly the virus starts to grow again. The main problem is that there is no development of the characters or the story for that matter. Also there is no connection with any character... is just a lot of images of infected people chasing the sane ones. Terrible.

7. Sucker Punch (2011)

PG-13 | 110 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

33 Metascore

A young girl institutionalized by her abusive stepfather retreats to an alternative reality as a coping strategy and envisions a plan to help her escape.

Director: Zack Snyder | Stars: Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone

Votes: 252,789 | Gross: $36.39M

8. Hannibal (2001)

R | 131 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

57 Metascore

Living in exile, Dr. Hannibal Lecter tries to reconnect with now disgraced F.B.I. Agent Clarice Starling, and finds himself a target for revenge from a powerful victim.

Director: Ridley Scott | Stars: Anthony Hopkins, Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Ray Liotta

Votes: 293,177 | Gross: $165.09M

There are movies that simply cannot stand second parts. After the huge sucess of Silence of the Lambs this producers just thought that by relying on the "terrible" Dr. Lecter they could write any cheap piece of sh*t and it will be a landmark.

9. Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)

Not Rated | 79 min | Horror, Sci-Fi

56 Metascore

Evil aliens attack Earth and set their terrible "Plan 9" into action. As the aliens resurrect the dead of the Earth, the lives of the living are in danger.

Director: Edward D. Wood Jr. | Stars: Gregory Walcott, Tom Keene, Mona McKinnon, Duke Moore

Votes: 40,408

If you see this movie from an amateurish point, it MIGHT be fun! But I've find 'B-movies' that are better paced and developed. I just think this movie reaches at almost all points, a level of incompetence never experience before (or after).

10. Mars Attacks! (1996)

PG-13 | 106 min | Comedy, Sci-Fi

52 Metascore

Earth is invaded by Martians with unbeatable weapons and a cruel sense of humor.

Director: Tim Burton | Stars: Jack Nicholson, Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Annette Bening

Votes: 243,517 | Gross: $37.77M

One can think that with the film cast that his movie had, it could be at least decent. But, as the twig is bent, so grows the tree; the comic book which is the base for this crap movie was also terrible, bad, horrible. By far, Tim Burton's worst movie.

11. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)

PG-13 | 118 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

32 Metascore

An elite military unit comprised of special operatives known as G.I. Joe, operating out of The Pit, takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.

Director: Stephen Sommers | Stars: Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

Votes: 215,016 | Gross: $152.27M

Terrible! An elite squad with super suits. Two brothers separated from the past and obviously each one of them is in the opposite band... I was expecting a little more from this movie, giving its trailer which caught my eye... however, a truly disapointing movie.

12. Justice League: The New Frontier (2008 Video)

PG-13 | 75 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

In the 1950s, a new generation of superheroes must join forces with the community's active veterans and a hostile US government to fight a menace to Earth.

Director: Dave Bullock | Stars: David Boreanaz, Miguel Ferrer, Neil Patrick Harris, John Heard

Votes: 21,385

13. Battle Los Angeles (2011)

PG-13 | 116 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

37 Metascore

A squad of U.S. Marines becomes the last line of defense against a global invasion.

Director: Jonathan Liebesman | Stars: Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ramón Rodríguez

Votes: 185,176 | Gross: $83.55M

When I decided to watch this movie, I suspected wasn't going to be very good, nevertheless I thought the VFX would be very good. I was right on the first thought, wrong in the second. The VFX are quite simplistic and nothing very good, the story is cheap. The typical pro U.S. Army movie with no real development of the characters or the story. *SPOILER* Can't remember the exact line that resumes the whole movie, but was something like:

" - Man, go have some breakfast.

  • Nah, I already had war this morning, so I am full."

I thought I saw everything regarding slow, boring and pointless movies, but this one just was a slap in the face, as a wake-up call. I was mistaken, this movie (as any French production) is the most boring I've seen in years. I specially hate, the final story. A woman telling the whole time 'I woke up and did this, did that... then, I ate this, ate that... later I saw this, saw that...' C'mon!!! Make sure you never ever see this, unless you are trying to waste your time.

15. The Simpsons Movie (2007)

PG-13 | 87 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

80 Metascore

After Homer pollutes the town's water supply, Springfield is encased in a gigantic dome by the EPA and the Simpsons are declared fugitives.

Director: David Silverman | Stars: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith

Votes: 349,840 | Gross: $183.14M

The long awaited Simpsons movie, turned out to be a melodramatic and cheap story revolving about Homer screwing up the relationship with Marge. Very dissapointing movie. There are only one or two scenes that really made me laugh.

16. Catch .44 (2011)

Be sure never to watch this, because it will spoil any memories of a good performance from Lindsay Lohan (Freaky Friday for example) forever. This is an absolute nonsense "thriller", tawdry and silly.
