Daredevil Is Officially Back At Marvel

23 April 2013 5:03 PM, PDT | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

We more-or-less already knew this, since as much was strongly indicated late last year, but Marvel's Kevin Feige, out on the Iron Man 3 circuit, has officially confirmed that Fox's rights to Hell's Kitchen hero Daredevil have now lapsed, and that The Man Without Fear is now comfortably back in the Marvel/Disney fold. That's the extent of the news: there's no film yet, but it's an important step along the road to getting Matt Murdock back on screen, and it's hard to imagine that conversations aren't happening behind closed doors at Marvel headquarters.Daredevil has had a rough ride in Hollywood since the 2003 film with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. David Scarpa (The Day The Earth Stood Still) wrote a screenplay for a Dd reboot in early 2010, and David Slade came aboard to develop and direct the project in the spring of 2011. Brad Caleb Kane (Brooklyn's Finest) and David James Kelly »

Ethan Hawke stars in new Before Midnight trailer: watch now

28 March 2013 9:52 AM, PDT | TotalFilm | See recent TotalFilm news »

The trailer for romantic threequel Before Midnight has been released. Ethan Hawke (Brooklyn's Finest) and Julie Delpy (2 Days In New York) return as Jesse and Celine for a third time after previous installments Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. The married couple are on holiday in Greece and almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on that train bound for Vienna. There's an unmistakeable charm and an almost Woody Allen-esque feel to the trailer, but it could also be the holiday from hell. There's the promise of...

Exclusive 1:1 interview with Olympus Has Fallen star Gerard Butler and director Antoine Fuqua

21 March 2013 5:35 PM, PDT | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

Director Antoine Fuqua, best known for the urban thrillers Training Day and Brooklyn's Finest, has orchestrated quite the ultra-violent spectacle with Olympus Has Fallen, a throwback to the action movies of the 90s where one man is pitted against dozens of terrorists and holds the fate of the country in his hands. Gerard Butler stars as disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning, who finds himself trapped within the White House after a foreign invasion has destroyed much of the »

Exclusive: Olympus Has Fallen Interviews with Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart

21 March 2013 12:49 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Antoine Fuqua has made quite a career out of directing gritty, intensely violent thrillers. Olympus Has Fallen makes his other films, like Training Day and Brooklyn's Finest, look like after school specials. Gerard Butler is ferocious as a disgraced Secret Service agent trying to rescue the President (Aaron Eckhart) from brutal terrorists. I think most audiences are going to be very surprised by how visceral this film is. We recently caught up with the cast and crew for some exclusive interviews. Watch as Antoine Fuqua comments on his no-holds barred take on the material. Gerard Butler discusses the rawness of hand-to-hand combat, and the loss of his high pitch because of a loose bone in his throat. The entire ensemble praises their director's vision, and each other in keeping things light after shooting such stressful scenes. Here's our exclusive chat with Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Dylan McDermott, Rick Yune, Angela Bassett and director Antoine Fuqua. »

Gallowwalkers Trailer Starring Wesley Snipes

20 February 2013 8:07 AM, PST | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

It's been a while now since we've heard from Wesley Snipes, who has been out of commission for three years while serving a prison sentence for tax evasion. His last major appearance on screen was in Brooklyn's Finest (unless you count his iPhone game Julius Styles: The International... and I don't think anyone does). However, you may recall that around the time he was being indicted he was in Namibia shooting a movie called Gallowwalker. Well, it appears that the movie is finally about to be released with a brand new title: Gallowwalkers! The movie stars Snipes as Aman, a mysterious gunman who suffers a curse that brings his victims back to life as undead creatures. Together with a young warrior named Fabulos (Riley Smith) he takes on the evil forces and their leader Kansa (Kevin Howarth). WWE star Diamond Dallas Page also co-stars. The movie still does not have an official release date, »

Chained (review)

28 January 2013 5:06 AM, PST | www.flickfilosopher.com | See recent FlickFilosopher news »

Are serial killers people too? Of course they are -- severely damaged people, yes, but human beings nevertheless. Yet cinema’s obsession with serial killers rarely transcends casting them as monsters for heroes to defeat. They are the looming specters of the near-mythic Hannibal Lecter and the cheap, interchangeable bogeymen of countless slasher flicks. Bob, the murderous sexual predator of Jennifer Lynch’s unnerving Chained, is something we’ve not seen before, and he is an uncomfortable challenge to us, and to all similar movies that have come before. Is writer-director Lynch daring us to sympathize with Bob? Not that we are meant to forgive him his horrendous crimes, not at all... but it’s undeniable that we are intended to gain a commiserative appreciation of what turns a horrifically abused boy into a man who loathes women -- and his own sexuality -- so much that his only method »

The White House Gets Captured In 'Olympus Has Fallen' Trailer

22 January 2013 11:42 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Buckle up, because the first trailer for "Olympus Has Fallen" is about to take you on one wild ride. If you like Gerard Butler as an action hero, Morgan Freeman as a president and watching the White House get blown up, then this is likely the right movie for you.

The trailer comes courtesy of Apple, and it can be watched after the jump. In many ways, the film feels like "Die Hard" meets the Potus, and that's definitely not a bad thing. Butler plays the John McClane role as a Special Service agent discharged from the president's duty after the First Lady gets killed in a car accident. He ends up being the only one left standing in the White House after terrorists capture the president and the United States capitol is on lockdown.

Will he succeed in saving the president? How could he not. What's most exciting about »
