After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 during the SAG strike last year, keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. The Sunday, May 12th premiere date is now swiftly approaching – and even though we just saw a trailer for the show a couple weeks ago, a new trailer for Interview with the Vampire season 2 has now been unveiled. You can watch it in the embed above.

This article contains spoilers from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels.
The latest Interview with the Vampire season 2 trailers feature Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, tyrannically dictating the story of his undeath to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). The ancient vampire won’t lighten the historical weight buried in cryptic footnotes covered in blood. The contemporary talks are set in Prague, but recent clips extend grand theatrical overtures.
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire season 2 will open with a new Parisian location, and fresh blood. AMC’s playbill says the part of Claudia has been recast with Delainey Hayles. Roxane Duran joins as the dollmaker Madeleine, a tragic figure with worse pains to suffer. The latest trailer also features a new, albeit secondary, antagonist, Santiago (Ben Daniels). The prime antagonist is, of course, a series protagonist, the vampire other vampires love to hate but remains the...

Tom Cruise will be back on the big screen as vampire Lestat, as Interview With The Vampire hits 30 years old.
It’s part of our obligation on this site to write stories that make a certain segment of our readership – er, including us – feel rather old. Here is the latest example: the movie Interview With The Vampire is 30 years old. Yikes.
A hugely contentious production it was too around the time of its release, with the late Anne Rice – the author of the books the film was based on – publicly blasting the casting of Tom Cruise in a full page advert she took out in the Hollywood trade press. Then, she did a complete reversal when she actually saw the film, and took out another advert to say so.

Past Lives took the top prize at the 2023 Gotham Awards on Monday night, with the film that went into the night up for three awards winning best feature.
Fellow three-time and best feature nominee A Thousand and One picked up the breakthrough director award, in the all-female category, as helmer A.V. Rockwell gave an emotional speech about the challenges of telling authentic stories about certain identities.
“Maybe one of the biggest things actually was telling a very truthful, authentic, very raw experience that can be so hard when it’s culturally specific and I felt like I fought tooth and nail for every inch of, every piece of what you’ve seen on screen,” Rockwell said, tearing up. “Just to be frank, it is very hard to tell a very culturally specific story when you look like this,” she added, touching the skin on the back of her hand.

"Anne Rice's Interview With The Vampire," a new horror series that premiered last October on AMC, was one of the surprise hits of the fall season. Reboots, revivals, adaptations, and spinoffs are nothing new in the TV landscape, but that doesn't mean they're a sure thing, either. Far from it. Countless reinterpretations and revivifications of classic hits, from older series to movies and books hit TV and streaming every year, even every season, and many fail to catch.
I don't think I'm alone in saying that I expected very little from AMC's "Interview With The Vampire" series. Anne Rice had already written an extraordinary source novel, fusing for the first time in a populist mode a potent blend of the Romantic novel and the Gothic with fresh new frames, namely, explicit supernatural elements and explicit queerness. On top of that, Neil Jordan had already adapted the novel to pitch-perfection...

In some ways, UK audiences were unlucky – we’ve had to wait a long time to finally see the TV adaptation of :a[Interview With The Vampire]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/tv/reviews/interview-with-the-vampire-season-1/' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener'}, the massively acclaimed new series adaptation of Anne Rice’s celebrated blood-sucking Vampire Chronicles. American audiences have been raving about it for a year now – but Season 1 has finally, in recent days, made its way to BBC iPlayer (and BBC Two). But while it’s meant a long wait for the first run of episodes, it does mean the wait for Season 2 should be much shorter – the next season is due to air in 2024, meaning hopefully we get it fairly swiftly. And for anyone who’s binged the whole season already, here’s a first clip from what’s next.

AMC unveiled the first scene from the much-anticipated upcoming second season of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire during their New York Comic Con panel and then – fortunately – made it available online. The nearly four-minute scene shows Santiago (Ben Daniels) guiding a group that includes Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (now played by Delainey Hayles) to a mansion. After using his particular set of skills to determine the layout and the number of humans inside, Santiago and most of the group enter to feast on the unsuspecting occupants.
However, Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Armand (Assad Zaman) remain outside, flirting and getting to know each other.
Not shown but also returning for season two are Sam Reid as Lestat and Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy
Season one premiered on October 2, 2022 and wrapped up on November 6, 2022. Season two is currently shooting in Prague and is targeting a 2024 premiere.

Krysten Ritter has fallen down an all new rabbit hole in the first look at the AMC Networks’ anticipated spinoff, Orphan Black: Echoes.
The network released the minute-and-a-half trailer on Thursday during its panel for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and sees a disoriented Lucy (portrayed by Ritter) waking up to an unrecognizable near future. The original series is set in the same clone-filled universe as its critically acclaimed and fan-loved BBC America predecessor, Orphan Black, which starred Tatiana Maslany.
“What’s wrong with me?” Ritter’s Lucy can be seen asking. ”Why don’t I know who I am?”
The series is set to explore the scientific manipulation of human existence and will follow a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives while embarking on a journey that will both unravel the mystery of their identity and uncover a story of love and betrayal.

Fangs, Forks, Washington and fall, oh my! The five “Twilight Saga” films set the mood for the fall season, so as Halloween nears, get ahead with the movie nights and marathons so that you have ample time to absorb all the broody, bloody love story this season. Fall is the perfect time to re-invest in the love triangle and vampire vs. werewolf drama that the five films, adapted from Stephanie Meyer’s four books, have to offer.
Come for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s romance, and stay for Taylor Lautner’s eager portrayal of Jacob the werewolf in the latter four films. Dakota Fanning makes a great member of the Volturi. Plus, now that the WGA has a deal with the AMPTP, the reboot television series of “Twilight” over at Lionsgate might start back up again soon.

With no end in sight to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, studios and networks are getting desperate. Case in point, AMC has managed to strike an agreement with SAG-AFTRA that will allow for several of the network's shows to continue filming even as the standoff continues between the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) and the guilds continues. A couple of "Walking Dead" spin-offs and the second season of "Interview with the Vampire" are now set to resume production. While it's not the interim agreement to be agreed for certain productions, these are the highest-profile TV shows to be given waivers thus far.
According to Deadline, the agreements between AMC and SAG-AFTRA specifically cover "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon," "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live," and "Interview with the Vampire" season 2. This is not a blanket agreement and does...

Many of the projects being worked on for major Hollywood studios and American TV networks remain at a standstill due to the ongoing writers and actors strikes – but Deadline reports that AMC has just sealed “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that will allow them to resume production Interview with the Vampire season 2, as well as the Walking Dead spin-offs Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live!
According to Deadline, “It’s understood that these agreements are specific to these three shows, rather than a blanket agreement between the company and the guild. AMC Networks, which produces the shows via AMC Studios, confirmed the waivers to Deadline, but didn’t comment further. AMC Networks is what’s known as an authorized company with regards to the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers but is not among the studios involved in the negotiations.“

Streaming services shake up their catalogs every month, but few rounds of TV and film musical chairs tend to be as rewarding as the ones that take place each fall. That's because we're entering spooky season, a time in which horror fans attempt to tackle ambitious watchlists and scaredy-cats dip their toes into the horror waters in the spirit of all things autumnal.
In keeping with this tradition, a large chunk of the movies making their way to Max (formerly HBO Max) this September are, if not outright scary, at least vaguely within the boundaries of the horror genre. Sure, there are some comedy classics ("Friday"), historical epics ("Gangs of New York"), and brand new docuseries ("Megan Thee Stallion vs. Tory Lanez: Five Shots") worth tuning into, but for my money, nearly all the best Max picks next month fall under the Halloween watchlist-adjacent umbrella.

Ten is a difficult age. Just on the cusp of puberty, one might be emotionally more mature than kids a few years older yet still be perceived and treated as a child. One might already have begun to experience adult desires, but have no way of exploring them, even in play, because one cannot compete for the attention of kids whose bodies have begun to change against others in that same situation. For Ewa (Katell Varvat) it’s particularly tough because of something which happened concerning her brother, who is no longer around. Other local kids refer to him as crazy.
In her room, which has an Interview With The Vampire poster on the wall, Ewa recites Dracula from memory and dons a black cape with a red lining. It seems to be Renfield with whom she identifies most strongly, yet, confronted with the eternity which she believes lies ahead of.

Not every TV and film production will stop amid dual strikes by SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America. A host of projects stopped work after writers went on strike against media companies for better pay, streaming data transparency and protections against artificial intelligence (among other issues), and many more have paused since actors walked out on July 14.
There are exceptions, however. SAG-AFTRA’s strike rules allow for work on productions covered under different agreements, and the union can grant waivers or sign interim agreements with independent productions. Below is a list of TV shows and films that fall under those designations; this story will be updated as more productions earn waivers.

The Television Critics Association awards nominations went public Friday, and it was great news for some series and sad news for others.
The Last of Us, The Bear, and Succession are in a three-way tie with five nominations apiece.
All three shows were expected to get some awards love, so their performances here are not surprising.
The Bear has been a bonafide hit for FX and Hulu, but there were some more first-year shows in the mix, too.
Andor, Jury Duty, Shrinking, Interview With the Vampire, and Poker Face were all well-represented.
Somewhat surprising: Ted Lasso and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel were shut out.
The news comes after both series have been big hits on the awards front and could set a precedent for upcoming awards shows.
Awards will be handed out at an in-person ceremony on August 7, 2023.

“Ask anyone what color they associate with the Wales family clan, and most likely they’ll say blue,” Rosie Harte, a fashion expert told The Daily Mail.
The hue may not be the brightest or the boldest compared to others “associated with royalty,” such as red and purple.
“Blue is a more palatable alternative to the colors traditionally associated with royalty, being far less aggressive than red and significantly more conservative than purple,” Harte said.

The second season of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire TV series is set to begin filming in Prague this week (before moving on to other locations like Paris and New Orleans), but before the cameras start rolling we have some unexpected casting news to report. Deadline has broken the news that Bailey Bass will not be reprising the role of teen vampire Claudia in season 2. Instead, she’s being replaced by Delainey Hayles, whose previous credits include the TV shows Too Close on ITV and Holby City on the BBC.
AMC provided the following statement: “Bailey Bass is a talented actor who did a remarkable job bringing the character of Claudia to life in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. For a variety of reasons, Delainey Hayles will appear as Claudia in season two. We are grateful for Bailey’s unforgettable performance in season one and wish her nothing but the best.

A second season of AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” is on the way, and Deadline reports today that Ben Daniels (Fox’s “The Exorcist”) is joining the cast in the new season.
Ben Daniels is said to have a “key recurring role” in Season 2.

The series, which debuted last year, is a “modern, unforgettable retelling of Anne Rice’s best-selling novel.” Rolin Jones (“Friday Night Lights”) serves as the showrunner.
