The next Avengers film, The Kang Dynasty, has lost its Kang – and it might lose its title next. More here:
On 18th December, Jonathan Majors was convicted of two misdemeanour counts of harassment and assault in his court case against ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors’ sentencing will happen in February 2024, and he faces up to a year in prison. Marvel dropped Majors from the role of Kang The Conqueror in the MCU immediately after the verdict.
Kang was posed as the next big bad, a Thanos-level threat that would tie the Multiverse Saga together. The next Avengers film, which is currently slated for a 2026 release, was subtitled The Kang Dynasty.
Marvel hasn’t commented on what it plans to do with the character yet, but it seems as though it’s considering changing the title of the film all together.

While Kang is the most prominent time-traveling villain in Marvel Comics, it’s notable that he never seems interested in using time travel to change the past, preferring instead to visit different eras so he can conquer them, and build up his vast army along the way.
If you gave the executives at Marvel Studios a time machine, though, chances are the first thing they’d choose would be to go back and undo their decision to hire Jonathan Majors to play Kang in various MCU movies and TV shows,...

Superhero movies had entered something of a transitional period in 2007. Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" run had reached an unplanned end with the tepidly received "Spider-Man 3," leaving Sony facing the daunting prospect of rebooting a franchise that still had plenty of box office juice (the third installment racked up the webslinger's highest worldwide gross to date). Bryan Singer whiffed badly on the hugely expensive "Superman Returns," forcing Warner Bros. to pin its DC Comics hopes almost exclusively on Christopher Nolan's forthcoming sequel to "Batman Begins" (which was a modest commercial success). 20th Century Fox's "Fantastic Four" grossed just enough to merit a sequel, while the future of the "X-Men" franchise rested solely on the yoked shoulders of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
And then there was Marvel Studios, which, after watching their most popular characters make billions for other companies, yearned to control the narrative destinies of the characters they hadn't sold off.

There has particularly been discussion about what should be done with Jonathan Majors after he was charged with assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, on March 25.
Majors played the Marvel Comics villain, Kang the Conqueror, in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
He also appeared as the character in the season two finale of Loki. The episode will also present him as the titular main antagonist of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, coming to theaters on May 1, 2026.

All that glitters certainly isn’t gold, as “Glitter” cinematographer Geoffrey Simpson knows all too well. During a recent interview, Simpson told IndieWire that the newfound cult fandom around Mariah Carey’s 2001 film debut is staggering, as “Glitter” is “one of the 10 worst movies.” The “Center Stage” and “Under the Tuscan Sun” director of photography looked back on the feature that was released September 21, 2001 — after its soundtrack came out on 9/11.
In the film, Carey stars as a young singer who overcomes an abusive childhood to reach stardom alongside a toxic boyfriend. “Glitter” was directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall and cleared $5.3 million at the global box office against a $22 million budget. Carey developed the story behind “Glitter” with “What’s Love Got to Do with It” screenwriter Kate Lanier and playwright Cheryl L. West. Padma Lakshmi, Eric Benét, Max Bessley, Terence Howard, and Da Brat also starred.

Gwyneth Paltrow became a part of Marvel lore after playing businesswoman Pepper Potts in the superhero franchise. But at one point, Paltrow quipped that she was getting up there in age, which might’ve cut her Marvel run short.
Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t sure she had a place in future Marvel films Gwyneth Paltrow | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Gwyneth Paltrow has been a member of the Marvel family for as long as Robert Downey Jr. has. Since her debut in 2008’s Iron Man, she’s appeared in multiple Marvel films throughout her career. She was first attracted to the film and franchise because of the team she’d be collaborating with.
“Firstly, I always wanted to work with Robert Downey Jr. Also, if someone calls you and says ‘Jon Favreau is directing a movie with Robert Downey Jr, Terence Howard and Jeff Bridges,’ I mean, how do you say no to that?...
