While she claims to be taller in interviews, Isla Fisher is believed to measure just 5ft 2 (157.5 cm), making her shorter than the average American woman.
Isla Fisher’s shoe size is 8 in the US, 6 in the UK, and 38 in the European. “I’m 5ft 3ins and about 6st 10Ib (94lbs), although I don’t weigh myself – I don’t own scales,” she told The Mirror in 1998.

In a 2005 interview with Edinburgh Evening News, she talked about filming the American comedy film Wedding Crashers with Vince Vaughn, who measures 6ft 5 (195.6 cm).
It was difficult to get a rapport in the beginning with Vince though, because my eyes met his belly button, he’s so tall.

Netflix is getting into the "let's kill Nazis violently" sub-genre of World War II films with the upcoming "Blood & Gold." This movie may not be on your radar just yet, but it seems like the kind of title that is destined to build up some buzz once it arrives on the streaming service next month. To that end, a new trailer for the German war flick has been released online that offers an extremely fun look at what promises to be a murder-heavy tale of revenge.
What's particularly entertaining about this "special trailer" is that it gives the film an old-school, grindhouse makeover that gives us a little bit of a Quentin Tarantino flavor, with "Inglorious Basterds" being the obvious touchstone. But it feels more at home with the fake trailers that were attached to 2007's "Grindhouse," even though this is a very real movie that you can watch in just a few weeks.

There's only one way out for those avoiding spoilers for "Andor." Turn back now if you haven't watched the latest episode.
The morning after a new episode of a buzzy new show releases is hardly the time to make grand proclamations or sweeping statements about quality. But sometimes, one just has to make an exception. Episode 10 of "Andor" truly does feel like the absolute peak of this shockingly compelling addition to the "Star Wars" franchise. Titled "One Way Out" (you can check out /Film's recap by Bryan Young here), the dark and thrilling hour focused predominantly on Cassian Andor's (Diego Luna) prison break, but it also wrapped up several key narrative threads from this latest mini-arc within the overall series. But one much more minor subplot runs the risk of getting lost in the hype, despite offering one of the best improvements on the recently-concluded sequel trilogy that we've yet seen.

Some of us are a bit rusty when it comes to the ol’ dating and don’t have the best relationship status, but not since David Fincher’s Gone Girl has a film made me this happy to be single. In her directorial debut, filmmaker Mimi Cave absolutely admirably goes for it in her dark comedy thriller Fresh, which is available on Hulu over in America and here in the UK via Disney+. Yes Disney has a film like Fresh in their archives, and that is a fact I think is well worth applauding and appreciating.
Fresh follows Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones) a young woman who is starting to think she is not cut out for this dating lark, after a few dreadful dates all set up online. Then, as if by magic (or fate), she bumps into the enormously charming Steve (Sebastian Stan), and their chemistry together begins to instantly sparkle.

As competition for the best European talent ramps up, bosses at some of the continent’s biggest production houses are finding U.S. agents tricky to deal with.
According to Christian Vesper, The Hand of God producer Fremantle’s President of Global Drama, agents are chasing too high a price for their clients which fails to “support that nation’s production model,” while Marina Williams, the Co-Founding Partner of Asacha Media Group, said “the price isn’t always acceptable” on these deals and they tend to be more complex than those traditionally struck in Europe.
“We are running into this a lot and you have to argue constantly,” added Vesper.
Local European agents are also grappling with the challenge of landing the biggest streamer shows for their clients and keeping these clients away from the big Hollywood agents as competition grows, according to Federation Entertainment Co-Founder Lionel Uzan.

A teenager coolly assumes control of his family in this satirical thriller from Spanish artist Pascual Sisto
What does it feel like to be an adult? That’s the question haunting a privileged, empathy-free adolescent in this chillingly satirical feature from the Spanish film-maker and visual artist Pascual Sisto. Adapted by screenwriter and co-producer Nicolás Giacobone (whose screen credits include Biutiful and Birdman) from his short story El Pozo, John and the Hole combines riffs from dime-a-dozen entrapment horrors with the absurdist unease of European art-house cinema and a strong thread of fairytale yarn-spinning. While the result may not be quite as deep as the cavern at the centre of the story, it has an enticing sliver of ice at its heart.
Sisto opens with a 4x3 closeup on the face of 13-year-old John as an offscreen teacher demands: “What’s the square root of 225?” “I don’t know,” John replies,...

Hollywood has always been drawn to true stories and there will never be a shortage of actors needed to re-create famous lives. But when portraying a real person who is dead or is even still alive, actors have their work cut out for them. On the one hand, they usually have lots of material to draw from. On the other, they don’t want their performance to be mere mimicry.
“Playing real people is interesting, and I’ve played many,” says Gary Oldman, nominated for his starring role in “Mank” as “Citizen Kane” screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz. Oldman previously won an Academy Award for playing Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour” and his film career was launched in 1986 when he starred in “Sid and Nancy” as Sid Vicious.
“A lot of the work is done for you. There’s usually first-hand description, personal writings and a ton of written material about the individual.

After the abysmal year for cinema that 2020 was, one can only hope that 2021 proves to be a lot better for films the world over. While the coronavirus situation ebbs and flows in various places, film releases are getting more and more frequent. Even if studios are still slightly hesitant to release some tentpole films, audiences are slowly finding their way back into the theatres.
Due to the delay in production and release on several projects last year, films that would otherwise have released back them are only now beginning to find their way into theatres or on Ott platforms, while some studios have even decided to indefinitely postpone production on some major titles. As a result, our list of Most Anticipated Korean Films of 2020 (which has been updated with the status of each project to the best of our knowledge) still remains valid and can be checked out to see...

Portugal’s cash rebate scheme, introduced in 2018, is attracting major international productions and new production outfits and facilities, and providing significant leverage for domestic film and TV productions.
Shoots slowed during the pandemic, with several projects lensed in bubbles, but production is expected to surge in the second half of 2021.
The current cash rebate is tabbed at 25/30% of eligible production spend and may be upwardly revised in the near future.
€22.5 million ($27.5 million) in total cash rebate has been disbursed since 2018, roughly equally split between international shoots and 100% Portuguese productions and co-productions.
High-profile projects include Ira Sachs’ “Frankie,” with Isabelle Huppert, Richard Stanley’s “The Color Out of Space,” starring Nicolas Cage, Marco Pontecorvo’s “Fatima,” with Harvey Keitel, and three Bollywood pics. These projects have accessed cash rebate per pic varying between €631,000 and €1.9 million ($2.4 million) Portugal is also shaking up its production eco-system. Pubcaster Rtp has shifted from telenovelas to...

Shortly after Borat Subsquent Moviefilm’s Golden Globes victory tonight in the category of Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Sacha Baron Cohen returned to the spotlight to claim a second statuette.
“Hold on, Donald Trump is contesting the result,” Baron Cohen joked, after winning the award for Actor in a Musical or Comedy. “He’s claiming that a lot of dead people voted, which is a very rude thing to say about the HFPA.”
While saluting all of the artists who risked their lives to help make this film—which was shot amidst the Covid-19 pandemic—the Borat sequel’s writer, producer and star gave special thanks to one person, in particular, who he kept anonymous. “Most thanks of all to my bodyguard, who stopped me from getting shot twice,” he said. “You know who you are, and you know I’m not allowed to say your name. But thank you.

“Borat Subseqent Moviefilm” star Sacha Baron Cohen made history at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, becoming the first actor to win twice for playing the same character in an original film and its sequel.
Cohen took home the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy award for the “Borat” sequel. He previously won in the same category in 2007 for the first “Borat” film. In addition to Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, Cohen also accepted the Golden Globe award for Best Musical or Comedy, which “Borat Subseqent Moviefilm” won earlier in the ceremony.
While Cohen is not expected to garner an Academy Award nomination for “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” he is a top contender in the Best Supporting Actor category at the Oscars. He was nominated in that category as well on Sunday night, but lost to Daniel Kaluuya for “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The other supporting...

A version of this story about Maria Bakalova first appeared in the Actors/Directors/Screenwriters issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
When she was 11 or 12 years old, Maria Bakalova used to draw pictures of the Hollywood sign on her desk at school. She’d been involved with the arts since she was 6, when she began taking piano lessons and flute lessons and, she said, “any kind of music lessons.” But in her preteen years, her ambitions began to change, and she focused on the movies. “I felt like this was not enough,” she said. “I want to do something more. I want to dig deep inside myself. And I started to dream about being a big Hollywood actress.”
Mind you, she wasn’t doing this at a school with a history of sending its graduates to Tinseltown — she was doing it, and dreaming of becoming a glamorous star, in her home country of Bulgaria.

Nick Robinson was forecast to snag his career-first Golden Globe Award nomination for 2018’s coming-of-age dramedy film “Love, Simon” in comedy/musical actor, but he ended up missing out. Now, he is giving it another go, this time in the limited series/TV movie actor category for FX/Hulu’s miniseries “A Teacher,” which features an awards-worthy performance from the actor.
Robinson, 25, has naturally played a row of teenagers in his career thus far — most recently, of course, in “Love, Simon” — but his turn as 17-year-old Eric Walker in “A Teacher” boasts one of his most dramatic undertakings thus far. Based on series creator Hannah Fidell‘s 2013 film of the same name, the 10-part series explores the relationship between Eric and his 32-year-old high school English teacher Claire Wilson (Kate Mara) over the span of 11 years — covering everything from the genesis of their affair, to its fallout, to its complete fracture.

Photo: 'Spycraft'/Netflix The Netflix home page has become the modern-day version of channel surfing. Before the streaming service became a household name, we would use that coveted remote to scroll through daytime soap operas, news channels, and whatever fascinating-sounding show they were airing on The Discovery Channel. Netflix’s new docuseries, ‘Spycraft’, feels as though it has been pulled right out of that final category. The show consists of eight, dense, well-researched episodes that each focus on a different area in the craft of espionage. Detailing the years from World War I until today, the show is an engaging combination of expert interviews, reenactments, and archival footage all expertly cut to move the pace along without ever losing its audience.
