Netflix’s sci-fi anthology Black Mirror debuted at No. 1 on the streaming charts for the week of its sixth season premiere.
The series delivered 1.36 billion minutes of viewing time in the United States for the week of June 12-18, according to Nielsen’s rankings. Black Mirror displaced the previous week’s No. 1, Avatar: The Way of Water, which fell by 45 percent in viewing time but still cleared the billion-minute mark across Disney+ and Max, which share streaming rights.
James Cameron’s movie fell to third overall, with Swat (1.21 billion minutes) continuing its strong showing across three streamers: Netflix, Paramount+ and Hulu. The show has topped 1 billion minutes of viewing for four consecutive weeks. Netflix’s movie Extraction 2, starring Chris Hemsworth, also edged over a billion minutes with 1.02 billion for its opening week.
Among original series, Netflix’s Manifest (969 million minutes) and Never Have I Ever (832 million) slotted in behind Black Mirror.

Genndy Tartakovsky, the man behind Hotel Transylvania, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Dexter’s Laboratory, Primal, and Samurai Jack, is in the midst of production on Fixed, an R-rated animated comedy that has landed a great voice cast. Variety reports that Adam Devine, Idris Elba, and Kathryn Hahn will be leading the project for New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures Animation.
Fixed revolves around Bull, “an average dog who discovers he’s going to be neutered in the morning. As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his balls.” Genndy Tartakovsky told Variety that “some people might get uncomfortable,” but added that “if you can look past the balls and the buttholes, you will find a very sweet, charming, sincere story of friendship and romance.“

At a certain point in the 1980s, there was no bigger movie star than Matt Dillon. Exploding into the cultural stratosphere with a trio of popular S.E. Hinton film adaptations, the young actor transitioned from heartthrob to dynamic leading man in the space of a decade. Roles in Gus Van Sant’s masterful Drugstore Cowboy, Cameron Crowe’s Singles, and Tim Hunter’s The Saint of Fort Washington followed, each one wildly different from the other.
Thirty years later, Dillon finds himself at the Telluride Film Festival as the director of the breezy, illuminating documentary El Gran Fellove, which tells the story of Francisco Fellove Valdés, the underappreciated Cuban scat singer and showman. The film also highlights the “Feeling” Movement that came out of Cuba in the 1940s, a jazz-inspired musical shift of which Fellove was essential. The musician––like many Cuban artists––would soon move to Mexico, where he found an abundance of success.

Thanks to the critical and box office success of writer/director Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood", actor Brad Pitt aka movie stunt double, bodyguard 'Cliff Booth' in the new film, is open to reprising his character for an extended episode, 'streaming mini-series', featuring new content and character backstories as a complement to the film:
"...I look at a mini-series where you can spend much more time on characters and story and explore angles you don't always get to do in films", said Pitt.
"So much of these films end up on the cutting room floor because they just don't fit in that box.
"That's why I think it's interesting that Tarantino previously took 'Hateful Eight' and ostensibly repurposed it as a three-part series. It's almost the best of both worlds.
"You have the cinema experience that exists, but you can actually put more content into the series format.

In 1967, Tulsa teenager Susie Hinton published her first novel, The Outsiders. The first-person narrative of Ponyboy Curtis discussed his brothers and friends in the Greasers as they faced off against the local rich kids, the Socs. The novel has never been out of print, having sparked a sense of identification with the first teenagers who read it, and every generation since. The book was also made into a now-legendary movie in 1983, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring seemingly every young actor in Hollywood at the time, including Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, and Tom Cruise. The success of The Outsiders helped boost the popularity of Hinton’s subsequent books like Tex, Rumble Fish, and That Was Then, This Is Now, all of which were also made into films.

Back before Ya was even a recognizable genre of literature, teenager S.E. (Susan Eloise) Hinton rocked the publishing world with her debut, The Outsiders, in 1967. Told from the perspective of an actual young person (Hinton received her publishing contract upon graduating from high school), the book offered an unflinching look at the tough lives of a street gang called the Greasers, who created a makeshift family for themselves as they fought the Socs and tried to envision a better life off of the streets.
The book became required reading in some schools, banned in others, and was immortalized in a 1983 film version, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring young actors Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise, and Diane Lane. Hollywood always seems to be looking for the next big lucrative film franchise. Studios have looked at several existing properties in hopes of finding their big meal ticket, and some of those properties include classic action figure toy lines and cartoon series from the 1980s. We’ve already seen films for G.I. Joe, Transformers, He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and a few others, but there are a helluva lot more out there that would make for some great movies!
I’ve put together a list of several different action figure and cartoon properties that I would love to see adapted for the big screen. Most of the properties on this list are ones I loved as a kid, and it would be so cool to see them brought to life in a way we've never seen before. I briefly talk about each franchise on the list and give a...

Jim Metzler steals the show from top-billed star Matt Dillon in this poignant tale about a 15-year-old boy who falls out with his overburdened sibling as they struggle to make ends meet. Dillon plays Tex, a teenage delinquent who goes off the rails after his mother dies, his father goes Awol and he's left in a decrepit Oklahoma house with his well-meaning brother (Metzler). An unsentimental and authentic adaptation of Se Hinton's novel.

Negative Buzzwords: Stagnant, B-lister, old dog
The Case: In the 1980s, teen heartthrob Matt Dillon lingered on the (hopeful) lips of teen girls, who passionately plastered their bedroom walls with his hunky photo spreads from Bop and Tiger Beat magazines, everwhere. It was at this time that Dillon regularly portrayed hunky hoodlums and banging bullies in film like Over the Edge and My Bodyguard. It was also a decade during which Dillon rose to stardom as an S.E. Hinton darling who hailed from the wrong side of the tracks (quite literally, relative to Tulsa terminology) in Tex, The Outsiders, and Rumble Fish. While these movies led to a career breakthrough, they were all very similar stories with very similar characters as well. Although Dillon managed the occasional change of pace...

The story focuses on Travis, a city kid that has trouble acclimating to rural life after being sent to live on his uncle's ranch. Travis forges a bond with Casey, who runs a riding school at the ranch and tries to tame a dangerous horse called the Star Runner.
