Gambit is alive?! Well, it seems like it!
After being chopped from the superhit animated series X-Men ’97 (Spoilers For Whoever Still Hasn’T Watched It!) it sounds like the fan-favorite Remy LeBeau will soon be gracing fans’ eyes once again. Except that this time, he won’t be animated, but would be a live-action character played by Channing Tatum!
Gambit in the comics.
As magnificent of a surprise as this may be, fans will reportedly finally get a live-action appearance of the Ragin’ Cajun in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. This comes after recent reports about the upcoming film which reveal that Tatum will, at last, get to play the character that was taken away from him almost a decade ago, and his role won’t be restricted to just a cameo either!
Channing Tatum Reportedly All Set to Debut as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine

Slash has unveiled the latest single from his upcoming blues album, Orgy of the Damned, set to arrive on May 17th. The Guns N’ Roses guitarist teams up with country superstar Chris Stapleton on a cover of Fleetwood’s Mac’s “Oh Well.”
The freewheeling guitar playing from Slash and the raspy vocal delivery from Stapleton add a gritty vibe to Fleetwood Mac’s original 1969 song, a bluesy garage number that was penned and sung by singer-guitarist Peter Green.

Slash said of the song in a press release, “So, this is the original Fleetwood Mac, which was founded by Peter Green, one of the greatest singer-songwriter-guitar players, he’s less known in the public, but very well known to us guitar players re the 60s British blues and he’s up there with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Mick Taylor. When Slash was putting together the track list for his upcoming blues album, Orgy of the Damned, he had a very distinct voice in mind for his version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well”: Chris Stapleton.
“His singing cadence and that drawl that he has for this particular song, in my mind’s eye, it sounded perfect,” the Guns N’ Roses guitarist tells Rolling Stone.
But despite Stapleton having opened some shows for Gn’R, Slash didn’t already have a relationship with the country crooner. “I had to...

Around the time Slash parted ways with Guns N’ Roses, he got deep into the blues and soul music. With a group called Slash’s Blues Ball, he reinterpreted the music of Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, and Stevie Wonder, among others, at gigs between 1996 and 1998. Now — nearly three decades later — the guitarist, who returned to Gn’R in 2016, is recommitting himself to that group’s repertoire on Orgy of the Damned, a new solo album due out May 17, which finds him trading licks with many of his famous friends.

“Star Wars” is one of the biggest franchises of all time and has welcomed multiple generations to a galaxy far, far away for 45 years. George Lucas’ groundbreaking vision, which began all the way back in 1977 with “A New Hope,” changed the movie industry forever and, with that, made a mark on the Academy Awards that year with a Best Picture nomination. However, the relationship between “Star Wars” and the Oscars hasn’t always been as lovable as Han Solo and Chewie. In fact, there’s often been a touch of Vader-Luke in the conflicted dynamic between the two institutions. Here’s a breakdown of the history of every “Star Wars” movie at the Academy Awards, ranked in terms of Oscars success.
“A New Hope” (1977)

A statue of AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson has been unveiled in Namur, Belgium, where he played his first show with the band on June 29th, 1980.
Johnson would join AC/DC following the tragic passing of singer Bon Scott in February 1980, laying down vocals on what would become the band’s biggest-selling album, Back in Black. Ahead of the LP’s release in July of that year, Johnson made his live debut with the band on the evening of June 29th at the Palais Des Expositions in Namur.
“[Namur is] a very special place for me,” Johnson reflected in a video message. “It was the first might I sang with AC/DC, and I was a very nervous boy. So that memory will stay with me forever, and now that you’ve built this statue. Honestly, I’m not worthy of it. I thank you, and I’ll take it in good grace.

If I was an art teacher, I would make "The Colour of Ink" part of my curriculum every year. The documentary, which premieres at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), is one of those humble, understated gems that could easily be missed in the hustle-and-bustle of flashier, sexier films. The subject matter isn't exactly tantalizing — how does one make a 105-minute film about small-batch ink-making interesting? Film-critic-turned-director Brian D. Johnson has figured out the answer: You don't make a movie about the ink, you make it about the people.
"The Colour of Ink" centers on Jason Logan, a former illustrator for The New York Times, who is now an independent ink-maker in Toronto, Canada. Rather than go into the history of ink usage, mass production, or even some diatribe about how pervasive ink still is in our everyday lives, the documentary instead zeros in on Logan's personal experiences and relationships.

Taylor Hawkins was sunshine incarnate. The late Foo Fighters drummer – also a songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist – had an unrivalled sense of positivity and joie de vivre. His megawatt smile could power a stadium show all of its own.
The first of two tribute concerts to Hawkins, who died aged 50 in March this year, does its utmost to summon that same energy. Gathered here at Wembley Stadium are some of Hawkins’s closest friends – the surviving Foos members, of course – family, collaborators and admirers, for a six-hour marathon of a show. Understandably, the mood that fills the 80,000-capacity venue is a strange one. Hawkins’s favourite songs are played ahead of the late-afternoon start time – Abba, Elo, George Michael – but no one feels like dancing just yet.

The Toronto Intl. Film Festival’s Docs program gets underway Sept. 8 and will feature 22 nonfiction films — a hefty 57 increase from last year’s lineup, which was cut back to 14 due to Covid.
Notable titles include Oscar winner Laura Poitras’ “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed,” which is pictured above and making its Canadian premiere following a world premiere at the Venice Film Festival; “Blackfish” director Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s latest docu “The Grab” and veteran filmmaker’s Werner Herzog’s “Theatre of Thought.”
Sacha Jenkins’s “Armstrong’s Black & Blues” will serve as TIFF Docs’ opening film.
Thom Powers, lead TIFF documentary programmer, winnowed the list of 22 from 700 submissions. While constructing this year’s program, Powers noticed various themes emerge across submissions, one being being the act of resistance.

John Hughes’ coming-of-age classic “The Breakfast Club” remains one of the most iconic films of the 1980s, and as actor Anthony Michael Hall recently revealed, it almost had a sequel. The actor, who currently stars in the horror sequel “Halloween Kills” and appeared in “The Breakfast Club” as Brian Johnson (aka the Brain), talked about a possible follow-up in a recent interview with The Independent.
Hall said he last spoke on the phone with Hughes, who died in 2009, in 1987, when they bandied around ideas for a possible new installment that would find the characters all grown up and well into adulthood. Hall starred in “The Breakfast Club” opposite Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, and Judd Nelson.
“At that time, he did mention the potential of doing a sequel to ‘The Breakfast Club,’” remembered Hall. “It would have been all of us in our middle-age. His idea was to pick...

AC/DC’s landmark 1980 LP, Back in Black, turns 40 on July 25th, and they’re marking the occasion by releasing vintage videos from the era on YouTube. The newest one is a performance of “What Do You Do for Money Honey” from a February 1981 show at Nippon Seinenkan in Tokyo.
Original AC/DC frontman Bon Scott died slightly less than one year before this show in Tokyo, and this was their first time on the road with singer Brian Johnson. It’s a rare live video where Johnson isn’t wearing his trademark newsboy hat.

Contender Koryn Hawthorne needed some last-minute help last week to make it through the first live round of "The Voice." Her coach, Pharrell Williams, saved her on Wednesday's results show after a low finish from the public vote. In early results, Gold Derby users are predicting that Hawthorne may well be eliminated next Tuesday. She has odds of 5/4 of being one of the two people cut from the Top 12. Close to her at 5/6 odds are Rob Taylor from Christina Aguilera's team and Hannah Kirby from Blake Shelton's team. Brian Johnson is at 8/11 to potentially be cut from Adam Levine's team. Conversely, Williams' other two artists -- Sawyer Fredericks (15/2) and Mia Z (16/1) -- should both be safe. And our users give odds of 13/8 that no Team Pharrell member will be eliminated. Though Circuit underdogs "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Inherent Vice" came close to the top prize, the Toronto Film Critics Association followed suit on Tuesday when it named Richard Linklater’s "Boyhood" as the best film of 2014. Collectively, the group called it "a cinematic masterpiece that evokes beauty in life and the inevitable passage of time," adding an honor to Linklater for his "singular achievement." Along with its award winners, Tfca named Denis Villeneuve’s "Enemy," Michael Dowse’s "The F Word," and Xavier Dolan’s "Mommy" as its three finalists for the Rogers Best Canadian Film Award. “In an exceptional year for Canadian cinema, we’ve chosen three boldly directed films that are so dissimilar it’s almost hard...
