Kate Middleton’s 2023 Christmas carol concert has come and gone. However, the annual event wasn’t without some memorable moments. (Spoiler: Prince Louis stole the show.) Among them was the Princess of Wales’s solo arrival ahead of the Together at Christmas taping. Amid royal family book drama, Kate, 41, looked every bit at her “confidence peak,” according to a body language expert.
Kate appeared confident arriving at Westminster Abbey ahead of William, George, Charlotte, and Louis
After marking the calendar and sending out invitations, Dec. 8, 2023, arrived, and Kate headed to London, England’s storied Westminster Abbey. There, she hosted her third annual carol concert to be broadcast in Britain on Christmas Eve.
Seeing as she hosted the festive evening, Kate didn’t arrive as she normally would for other events alongside her husband, Prince William, and their children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas carol concert is almost here. And one element is bound to “enrage” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. A commentator says 2023’s Together at Christmas theme isn’t likely to go over well with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The reason? The show’s connection to Meghan’s time as a working royal.
2023’s ‘Together at Christmas’ carol service theme centers on creating ‘supportive, nurturing worlds around’ children and adults
Kate, and many other British royals, are in for a festive evening on Dec. 8, 2023. Together at Christmas will be taped at Westminster Abbey and later broadcast in Britain on Christmas Eve.
The carol concert will feature performances by Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Jacob Collier, Freya Ridings, James Bay, and Jacob Collier. Also preforming is the abbey’s choir. What began as a way to thank those who helped others during coronavirus (Covid-19) has grown...

Ilsey, the singer-songwriter who cowrote “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart,” is now following her own heart on a Neil Young cover with Bon Iver. The musicians covered “Heart of Gold,” taking Young’s folky pining and turning it into a poppy meditation on the original’s lyrics that sometimes veers into the avant-garde with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon singing the high harmonies in his head voice.
“This song has always spoken to me in a deep, personal way,” Ilsey said in a statement. “There’s something about the plaintive melody and the simple,...

It was déjà vu for David Archuleta on Wednesday night’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” The 32-year old performer who had been masquerading as Macaw all season finished in second place to Medusa, the same position he landed on Season 7 of “American Idol” when he lost to David Cook. His emotional journey of self-discovery ended with performances of “Hold Back the River” by James Bay and “All By Myself” by Eric Carmen. Panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong correctly guessed the musician’s identity, but Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg were off the mark.
“We knew we were coming on this, going out of our comfort zone and doing something different,” David told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “I didn’t know it was going to be so much fun. It’s just been healing being able to be the Macaw.”

Last year I wrote a piece dissecting the last few Best New Artist Grammy winners, and I classified Meghan Trainor as one of the artists “cursed” by the sometimes-infamous award. Since then it seems like the tide has somewhat turned, with Trainor notching another major hit in late 2022 with “Made You Look,” thanks to a perfectly-executed TikTok campaign that most artists should take notes from. “Made You Look” certainly didn’t change things completely, as its parent album hasn’t really make a splash outside of that song, but it does make me reconsider Trainor’s career. With all that in mind, let’s take a look at how Trainor won the Grammy, and perhaps why she hasn’t repeated that awards success despite a couple more hits.

Ed Sheeran has officially returned to Instagram after being largely absent from social media for “the last couple of years”
The “Shape of You” singer has shared few personal posts on Instagram in recent years, but ended his break on Tuesday (31 January) with a selfie video.
In the video, which Sheeran captioned: “Back in the bitz,” he addressed fans directly and promised to be making more personal posts on the platform going forward.
“Hi guys, so I realise I haven’t been that engaged in my social media or my fan base online over the last couple of years,” he said, before whispering into the camera: “And the things that have been posted on this account might have got a bit boring. I’m sorry, it’s my fault.”
Sheeran then went on to explain why he had been absent from the platform for so long.

The new Amy Winehouse biopic will focus on her “extraordinary genius, creativity and honesty that infused everything she did”. Or so we were told. But then we saw the pictures.
Marisa Abela was pictured outside London jazz bar Ronnie Scott’s, with the singer’s signature beehive in disarray; black eyeliner smeared around her eyes; a distraught expression on her face. “F***ing revolting,” said one comment in response. Some took issue with Abela’s lack of resemblance to Winehouse. Others took issue with the fact this film, Back to Black, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, is being made at all.
Given the vulture-like efficiency with which her life was picked over, it’s near-impossible to think of a sincere reason to make a movie about Winehouse – at least not one that isn’t motivated by greed. This July will mark 12 years since her death from accidental alcohol poisoning. Despite her...

Fontaines DC guitarist Carlos O’Connell will not perform at the band’s forthcoming shows due to the imminent arrival of his first child.

The National Portrait Gallery has announced that it will be reopening later this year for a special exhibition featuring images from Sir Paul McCartney.
The show will include never before seen images of The Beatles in their early days, photographed by McCartney.
The exhibition comes after 80-year-old McCartney contacted the gallery upon rediscovering the images.
Director of the gallery, Dr Nicholas Cullinan: “Sir Paul approached us I think back in 2020 and said he had found these photographs which he remembered taking but thought had been lost.”
The photographs, taken between December 1963 and February 1964 capture The Beatles surge into fame in Liverpool, through to their performance to millions on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Soccer Aid for Unicef 2021, broadcast live and exclusively on ITV, Stv and the ITV hub this evening from the Etihad Stadium, has raised a record-breaking £13,014,769 so far for Unicef’s vital work keeping children around the world, happy, healthy and able to play.
Robbie Williams, Usain Bolt, David Beckham
This record-breaking amount was raised thanks to the generous support of the UK public, ITV and Stv viewers, and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (Ciff) who matched all public donations up to £6.3 million, meaning double the difference for children. This figure has smashed all previous records for money raised on the night.
The eagerly anticipated match took place once again in Manchester, and this time players took centre stage at the sold out Etihad Stadium with 51,674 fans in attendance, in line with current Covid safety regulations, following last year’s match behind closed doors. The match ended 3-0 to Soccer...

In today’s Global Bulletin, the deceasing average of ages in BAFTA TV actress nominees raises ageism concerns; Gary Barlow sets music show at the BBC; Red Productions hires Chloe Dunbar as head of development; the European Audiovisual Observatory and the U.K.’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport announce sustainability conference; “Game of Thrones” prequel finds home at Sky Atlantic; and a Stanley Tucci Italian culinary series will debut in June on CNN International.
An analysis conducted by the Acting Your Age Campaign has found that since 2000, the average age of BAFTA leading TV actresses nominees has reduced from 52 to 32. “The messaging of this downwards age-trend is clear and worrying,” the analysis states. “Gendered ageism is seemingly increasing.”
In 2021 alone, nominees Daisy Edgar-Jones (“Normal People”), Billie Piper (“I Hate Suzie”), Hayley Squires (“Adult Material”), Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”) and Letitia Wright (“Small Axe”) are aged between 22 and...

Despite delivering Showstopper performances on Sunday night’s episode of “American Idol,” some contestants suffered the toughest cut yet and were sent packing by judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Only 10 contestants moved one step closer to their dream. On March 29, more show-stopping performances took place at the Dolby Theatre before the judges delivered their toughest decisions of season 19.
After the two nights of Showstoppers, only two dozen artists will make the cut. This top tier of performers will then fight it out for the chance to be on the live shows, which begin in early April. At that point, you will be able to predict the outcome of each episode in our predictions center.

And then there were 24. American Idol on Monday officially narrowed down its pool of talent, bringing viewers one step closer to actually having a say in who gets to move forward — which is good, because the judges made some truly questionable calls throughout this process.
Picking up where Sunday’s episode left off, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie delivered the news to Alanis Sophia and Casey Bishop that they’re both going through to the Top 24, which came as a shock to absolutely zero people watching from home.

Teddy Geiger was already planning on spending some time alone before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. She had booked a house in Big Sur for March, with the hopes of finishing her upcoming album there. Instead, she was stuck in New York for months.
“It was the same idea of what I’d planned in Big Sur, just different location,” she says. For the prolific writer who has worked with Shawn Mendes, Lizzo and Niall Horan, writing through the pandemic has been an exercise in appreciating how it has slowed down her workflow.

Soccer Aid for Unicef 2020 has, thanks to the generosity of ITV viewers, raised a record £11,552,577 – the most the match has ever raised in the history of the show, which was broadcast exclusively live on ITV and Stv.
For the first time in the match’s history, donations were matched by both the UK government and Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, meaning every £1 donated becomes £3 – up to £3 million – until Tuesday 6th October 2020.
This year’s teams of celebrities and former professional footballers played for ‘Generation Covid’, and the money raised will help Unicef stop the spread of coronavirus and limit the impact on children’s lives around the world.
The match, which was played behind-closed-doors at Manchester United Fc’s Old Trafford, ended 1-1 and so went to penalties. The game marked a return to the North West following last year’s game at Chelsea Fc’s Stamford Bridge.

James Bay is no stranger to sappy love songs, but something about his latest release, “Chew On My Heart,” hits a little differently. With his first new release of 2020, the singer-songwriter gravitates away from his usual distant longing and jumps right into infatuation.
The track starts off subtle, but then blossoms into an upbeat declaration of love by someone who isn’t afraid to get hurt. “I wanna be your touch/Sleeping’s so tough, you’re burning up my mind,” he sings. “What would it feel like if you tore me apart?...

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter and actor Jesse McCartney was just shy of taking home the Golden Mask trophy on Wednesday’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” As the Turtle, he placed second behind the Night Angel (Kandi Burruss) but edged out the Frog (Bow Wow), who placed third. Panelists Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger both correctly guessed his identity but Robin Thicke thought the Turtle was singer Adam Lambert while Ken Jeong was certain it was newlywed Nick Jonas. The Turtle is the frontrunner to win season 3 of “The Masked Singer.” He is one of the strongest contenders in the quarterfinal on May 6. He earned his spot in the final five based on his powerhouse performance of “Stay” by Alessia Cara last week. That was just the latest of his outstanding turns in the spotlight that won praise from the four judges four judges.
We’ve been wondering who the Turtle is since he made his debut on the show in week 1 with his cover of “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal.
