With The Acolyte expected to drastically alter the beloved franchise by departing from George Lucas’ original vision, fans of the film series have all the reason to be giddy with anticipation. The upcoming series will differ from all previous Star Wars stories, according to the showrunner, Leslye Headland. She also revealed that it will stray from one of Lucas’ central ideas regarding the ‘Force’.
A great deal of the Force’s mystery was maintained throughout the original Star Wars trilogy. Even so, a lot more is now understood about it than in the past, particularly with the introduction of midi-chlorians in The Phantom Menace. However, the idea offended some fans because they feel it takes away the Force’s mystical quality.

Ranker is a popular place on the Internet where people can rank whatever they want, however, they want, and whenever they want. This is always a fan-focused ranking system and it is never officially tied to the people behind the projects in question. Recently, a large survey was organized on Ranker.
Of course, since this is indeed an important list, have decided to report on it, so we are going to bring you the results by listing the top 10 characters on this list, from 10th to first place.

According to Roger Ebert, Walter Murch is “the most respected film editor and sound designer in the modern cinema.” Across a career spanning over 50-years, including multiple Academy Award wins from nine nominations, he has only two directorial credits to his name. The second is a fourth-season episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which was preceded over 25 years before by the only feature he directed; Return to Oz.
After her adventures in the Land of Oz, Dorothy Gale (Fairuza Balk) remains obsessed with the locale that she previously visited. Out of a fear that their niece is experiencing delusions, Dorothy’s aunt and uncle take her away to a sanitorium.

Genndy Tartakovsky's "Clone Wars" is one of the best things to ever happen to "Star Wars." The micro-series gave us a vision of the Jedi as they saw themselves; as people thought the Jedi were; the version of the Jedi a young Anakin had in mind when he first met Qui-Gon Jinn — superhuman, invincible, god-like. Even 20 years later, there's nothing quite like it.
One of the best things the show did was bring the character of Durge over from the comics to the animated series. Durge is an alien bounty hunter with regenerative powers who fights Obi-Wan in one of the best episodes of "Clone Wars," an episode full of body horror and even a sequence inspired by anime masterpiece "Akira."
It's a shame that neither the character nor the show are considered canon by Lucasfilm and Disney.

Transformers Animated came to an end with its third season, but it wasn’t always intended to be that way! Various plans existed for a fourth season that would have continued the story of the series and taken it in a new direction.
Transformers Animated (2007)
During the brainstorming phase for the fourth season, Marty Isenberg, the story editor, envisioned a narrative that would span both Cybertron and Earth. The focal point would remain on Cybertron, the homeworld of the Transformers, but the discovery of new energon deposits on Earth, originating from shards of the AllSpark, would necessitate the Autobots’ continued defense against the energy-starved Decepticons on our planet as well.
Suggested“Young Justice should deal with these issues”: One DC Hero Became a Symbol of Mental Health after Showrunners Talked to an Iraqi Vet Suffering Ptsd
According to Isenberg, season 3 embraced a more traditional Autobot vs. Decepticon war narrative.

Spoilers for "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" Season 3 Episode 12 "Juggernaut" follow.
The third and final season of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" moves on, this time bringing us back to the original status quo of the season. In the epic previous episode, Omega sacrificed herself to prevent the utter destruction of their paradise refuge of Pabu, and the Empire takes her right back to Mount Tantiss. Desperate to find Omega and stop the Empire's experiments once and for all, the Bad Batch looks for any lead they can in order to find the location of the secret facility.
That brings them back to Admiral Rampart, who was arrested in earlier seasons as a scapegoat for the genocidal destruction of Kamino. He was sent to an Imperial labor camp, which offers a pretty neat, direct tie to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

There have been a lot of "Transformers" cartoons since 1984. Most of them (and I say this as a fan) are pretty unimpressive. One of the best ones is "Transformers: Animated," which aired from 2007 to 2009 on Cartoon Network. Network executive Sam Register created the series like it was "Teen Titans" with robots. Register even recruited one of that show's character designers, the late Derrick J. Wyatt, resulting in a similar art style.
"Animated" broke away from past series' tenets, transforming them you might say — the show's team even cast Megatron voice actor extraordinaire David Kaye as Optimus Prime instead. The series was explicitly pitched as "more like a superhero show than a 'Transformers' show" (read the original production bible here for many tantalizing insights and scrapped ideas). The Autobots each had unique powers and faced off against human villains; against the Decepticons, they were definite underdogs.

A second season of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi was first announced at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023, and fans have since been eager to see which characters this season’s installments would be about. Would we see more stories from Ahsoka and Count Dooku, or different characters entirely? Nearly a year after it was first announced, we have a first look at the new season, now named Tales of the Empire.
Tales of the Empire will focus on the stories of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka’s Lady Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) and, to the delight of many, former Jedi Padawan Barriss Offee (Meredith Salenger), who was last seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Helldivers 2 is an impressive and unique take on a science fiction reality where mankind is dealt with an awful hand of fighting hostile alien forces to gain their freedom in the Galactic War.
While the premise may seem unoriginal with Hollywood’s oversaturated coverage of various science fiction projects, it resembles Starship Troopers. And it only takes one creative mind to bridge these two worlds together in a very opportune and prudent manner.
Movie theaters usually show previews and teasers of upcoming films before a showing, but there is one local theater in Nashville, Tennessee that helped amplify the experience for the audience.
Despite being two different media projects, it is easy to mistake that if a viewer has seen one sci-fi flick, then they have seen them all. However, a Helldivers 2 ad perfectly placed before a film could rile up the crowd for an epic science fiction adventure.

The resemblance between the Star Wars franchise and Helldivers 2 is uncanny, if someone doesn’t know any better, they could have passed as part of a shared universe, and fans have pointed that out extensively with the Clone Wars by remaking a whole sequence based on the beloved animated show.
With the fact that Helldivers look like Clone troopers and even fight extraterrestrial and invincible enemies, a connection was bound to be made.
Star Wars fans are more likely to be captivated by the lore of Helldivers, as they also feature a Galactic War and massive space battles.
This game is certainly right up their alley, and it feels like the game was made for them and other enthusiasts of intergalactic warfare and immersive action. The Clone Wars was the height of the Star Wars prequel trilogy and has been a fan favorite ever since.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars saw Asajj Ventress as the animated series’ antagonist, voiced by Nika Futterman. In George Lucas' 1977 sci-fi flick "Star Wars," there is a scene wherein a cadre of Nazi-like bad guys, in the employ of the evil Empire, gather around a boardroom table and mention that the mysterious off-screen Emperor has dissolved the senate and taken absolute control. The military generals are outraged, wondering how the Empire might survive without a bureaucracy in place. In Irvin Kirshner's 1980 sequel "The Empire Strikes Back," it's established that Darth Vader (David Prowse), a mysterious masked warlock, was actually the Emperor's right-hand man, indicating that the Emperor retains control of the Empire through the sheer force of his villainy.
In "The Empire Strikes Back," the Emperor appeared in holographic form to have a powwow with Darth Vader and plan his next move. In the original cut of the movie, the Emperor was played on screen by actress Marjorie Eaton, outfitted with eerie, alien eyeballs. Eaton was a long-working character performer in Hollywood,...

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was a groundbreaking series, but not everyone recognizes its genius. The show subverted sexist tropes that characterized women as helpless damsels in distress and painted men as their heroes. Buffy appeared to be completely powerless but secretly packed a huge punch. Some people believed that a woman could never be as strong as the Slayer — and some of those people were in huge Hollywood films like the original "Star Wars" trilogy.
The coming-of-age WB series is inherently supernatural, but that didn't stop people from criticizing "Buffy" for being unrealistic. Displays of superhuman strength are common in male-driven comic adaptations like "Spiderman" or "Thor," where the hero's powers originate from similarly mythical or science-fictional origins. But because Buffy is a teenage girl, some viewers couldn't wrap their heads around her capability.

The 2008 cartoon series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" is now a heralded piece of the "Star Wars" legacy, filling in plenty of gaps in the "Star Wars" prequel film trilogy. It also finally told the story of the eponymous conflict — which was first namedropped all the way back in the original 1977 "Star Wars." "The Clone Wars" was a story that had been speculated on for more than 40 years. What if I told you, though, that the story had already been recounted by 2008?

On Monday night, the In Memoriam segment at the 2023 Emmy Awards reflected on some of Hollywood’s greatest losses in the past year. Among the tributes appeared Matthew Perry, Angus Cloud, Paul Reubens, Norman Lear, Barbara Walters, and dozens more. But the acknowledgments were also notably missing a number of figures.
The segment spanned nearly five full minutes as The War and Treaty and Charlie Puth delivered performances of “See You Again” and the Friends theme song, “I’ll Be There for You.” But not mentioned during that time were Jerry Springer,...

It's fair to say that Padmé Amidala is one of the "Star Wars" saga's most underappreciated characters. She played something of a thankless role throughout the prequel trilogy; while she's probably known best as Anakin Skywalker's romantic foil, she was so much more in the grand scheme.
Much ink has been spilled on Padmé's importance to the Galactic Republic, especially in "Episode II — Attack of the Clones." It's her fierce independence and general aversion to authority that made her such a threat to then-chancellor Palpatine. Most of his dastardly plans include efforts to remove Padmé entirely from the equation, either through the invasion of Naboo in "The Phantom Menace," or through a handful of assassination attempts.
Fortunately, Padmé managed to stick around longer than anyone expected her to. Her presence was a welcome challenge to the tyranny of the fledgling Empire, but also to the prequels' overwhelmingly male ensemble.

More than 40 years ago, in 1982, director Nicholas Meyer's "The Wrath of Khan" revitalized "Star Trek," overcoming its low budget to be the shot in the arm that "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" failed to be.
This was the second time that the "Star Trek: The Original Series" cast reunited on the silver screen. With how long it has been, it's sadly unsurprising that most of the original "Star Trek" main cast is no longer with us. Spock's sacrifice and emotional last exchange with Kirk in "The Wrath of Khan" are even sadder and more poignant now with Leonard Nimoy's real-life passing in 2015.
Even most of the film's own supporting cast have passed on. Ricardo Montalbán, who delivered the performance of a lifetime as Khan Noonien Singh himself, died in 2009 at age 88. However, a select few of the movie's cast are still with us.

“Ahsoka” Season 2 is in development with creator Dave Filoni, Lucasfilm has confirmed.
The news came with the reveal of the new “Star Wars” film “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” directed by Jon Favreau, which was unveiled Tuesday morning.
“‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ will lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2, among those in the works,” the announcement said.
“Ahsoka,” which aired its Season 1 finale on Oct. 3, starred Rosario Dawson as the fan-favorite Jedi, who’s trying to save the galaxy from Grand Admiral Thrawn, a new threat after the fall of the Galactic Empire. Dawson first brought Ahsoka Tano to live-action in “The Mandalorian” Season 2 and also appeared on “The Book of Boba Fett.”

Ahsoka star Eman Esfandi called his own shot.
When Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano first appeared in live-action on The Mandalorian season two and voiced her intention to find the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), Ezra Bridger’s own jump to live-action immediately became a near-inevitability for die-hard Star Wars fans. The already-great odds increased even more when Dawson’s spinoff series, Ahsoka, was announced shortly thereafter in December 2020, with longtime Star Wars creator and George Lucas apprentice Dave Filoni at the helm. This meant that Filoni would likely introduce not only Ezra and Thrawn into the live-action fold, but also plenty more of his beloved animated characters from the likes of Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
As a result, the role of the long-lost Jedi, Ezra, became one of the most coveted parts in town, and six months before the casting process even started,...

When it premiered in 2014, "Star Wars Rebels" introduced us to a slew of new "Star Wars" characters. One of them was former Lasat honor guard member-turned-Rebel-pilot Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios (voiced by Steven Blum). He's a bit gruff and closed off at the beginning, having dealt with the horror of the Empire massacring his people, but it's impossible not to love him. Seeing him in live-action (also played by Steven Blum) and drinking with Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) in "The Mandalorian" was a huge treat for fans of "Rebels."
Zeb's character functions in much the same way as Chewbacca does in the films. He's a large and loyal friend and the muscle of the group. Zeb's look was even based on the original concept art that Ralph McQuarrie did for Chewbacca. However, Chewbacca actually changed the way "Star Wars Rebels" wrote the character of Zeb, according to a...

In the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," we were introduced to the character of Professor Huyang, an architect and lightsaber designer droid who has been instructing younglings studying to be Jedi for, as he says in the series, "over a thousand generations." Visually designed with inspiration from concept artist Ralph McQuarrie's original art for C-3Po, Huyang's database has all the information about every lightsaber ever made and the Jedi who wielded it. He's got drawers full of lightsaber parts (which was based on creator Dave Filoni's grandfather's basement draws full of tools and parts), and he's always ready to help guide the young padawan in the creation of their first weapon. Plus, as we saw in the live-action Disney+ series "Ahsoka," he helps with Sabine's (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) lightsaber training. Huyang is voiced in both projects by David Tennant, aka the Tenth Doctor from "Doctor Who,...

"May I introduce you to architect and lightsaber designer Huyang?" That's the line Ahsoka Tano (voiced by Ashley Eckstein) says as the ancient droid Huyang appears for the first time in the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." Voiced by "Doctor Who" alum David Tennant, the character has been around for centuries, creating lightsabers and teaching young Jedi padawans. He recently appeared in live-action, again voiced by Tennant, in the Disney+ series "Ahsoka."
After the Republic falls, Huyang is not only an incredible source of information, but also someone who gives gentle critique, as he does for Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) when she's trying to learn to use the Force. He's a fan-favorite droid, voiced by a fan-favorite Doctor. How did Tennant end up in another humongous franchise that has been around for many decades? Let's take a look at how he was cast in the first place.

‘The Mist’ 4K Ultra HD Review – There’s a Reason We’re Still Talking About This Movie 16 Years Later
Stephen King adaptations have always been hit and miss. Before Mike Flanagan came along, there was one filmmaker who could always be trusted with King’s material: Frank Darabont, whose first foray into filmmaking was a short adaptation of “The Woman in the Room.” After making a name for himself as a screenwriter with the likes of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob, Darabont made his feature directorial debut with 1994’s The Shawshank Redemption and followed it up with The Green Mile in 1999.
His thus-far final King adaptation came in 2007 with The Mist, which finds a group of locals trapped in a grocery store while an ominous fog shrouding mysterious secrets envelopes their quaint Maine town. A microcosm of any community, the supermarket is a canny setting for a contained thriller. The divisive mob mentality and pigheaded self-righteousness that manifests under pressure is even more poignant in a post-Trump world.

Ahsoka leading actress Rosario Dawson recently shared her first public thoughts on her Disney+ co-star Ariana Greenblatt's performance in the series.
Young Ahsoka Tano took the spotlight in Ahsoka's highly emotional fifth episode, which showed off Greenblatt's live-action take on the character from her adventures in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Combined with her efforts alongside Margot Robbie in July's Barbie, the 16-year-old star enjoyed an impressive run in the spotlight as she, Dawson, and Hayden Christensen delivered an emotional flashback moment for longtime Star Wars fans.

Getting to see a live-action version of the "Star Wars Rebels" character Sabine Wren was pretty cool. Whatever your feelings about the series, Natasha Liu Bordizzo absolutely captured the animated character from "Rebels" voiced by Tiya Sircar. In the Disney+ live-action "Ahsoka," we learned that Sabine had begun training as a Jedi with Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) before the events of the series. However, it wasn't working out and they'd parted ways. As the show begins, Ahsoka needs Sabine's help, and their training starts up again. Sabine is still struggling with frustration about her powers, and where she fits in the universe now. Add in the fact that she's missing her friend Ezra (Eman Esfandi) who is missing along with Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and you have a recipe for some personality clashes.

This Star Wars: Ahsoka article contains spoilers.
Ahsoka made waves in the Star Wars universe by taking us further than any other canon project has gone before – an entirely new galaxy. Continuing the story of Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka follows former Jedi Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) as they try to find Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), who went missing with Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelson) in the Rebels series finale. The search leads both heroes and villains to Peridia, a planet beyond the galaxy far, far away in the third act of the series. It’s the first time Star Wars has traveled beyond the franchise’s major galactic setting onscreen and, according to series creator Dave Filoni, there was a clear reason why it had to happen in Ahsoka.

As the studio’s new head of creative, Dave Filoni will have greater influence over the future of the Star Wars franchise.
You don’t need us to tell you that Lucasfilm has struggled with Star Wars over the last few years. The studio’s small screen offerings have been a pretty mixed bag, while on the movie front, things have gotten increasingly bleak as a series of cancellations, firings and premature announcements have often offered the impression that the studio’s leadership is clearly struggling to figure out a clear path forwards.
One bright light in all of this has been Dave Filoni who, more often than not, has been behind some of the series’ most successful creative successes.

Since working alongside George Lucas on Star Wars: The Clone Wars close to twenty years ago, Dave Filoni has seen his star rise considerably at Lucasfilm. In a Vanity Fair feature, Dave Filoni says that he’s now the Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm, which will allow him to oversee the development of future Star Wars projects.
“Now I’m what’s called chief creative officer of Lucasfilm,” Dave Filoni said. “In the past, in a lot of projects I would be brought into it, I would see it after it had already developed a good ways.” The new position will see Filoni working more closely with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Head of Live-Action Development Carrie Beck. “In this new role, it’s opened up to basically everything that’s going on,” Filoni added. “When we’re planning the future of what we’re doing now, I’m involved at the inception phase.

Marvel Studios' shared universe model launched one of the most successful movie franchises of all time, and quickly became the envy of Hollywood. After "The Avengers" grossed $1.5 billion at the box office, every studio was racing to establish its own cinematic universe (some more successful than others). But 15 years after Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man made his big screen debut, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is groaning under the weight of its own continuity.
It's a problem that has particularly been exacerbated by the McU's expansion onto Disney+. Keen to build subscribers for its new streaming service, Disney premiered eight MCU TV shows in less than two years, a move that even CEO Bob Iger has said "diluted focus and attention" for the brand. Now, in an apparent effort to shed the feeling that each new MCU release requires an exhausting amount of homework, Marvel Studios is launching a new banner called Marvel Spotlight.

Spanning 11 live-action feature films and six live-action TV shows (and counting), the “Star Wars” universe is ever-expanding. And starting with the very first installment, filmmaker George Lucas made clear to audiences that he was telling a saga out of order. “Episode IV: A New Hope” underlined there was both a past and a future beyond the 1977 film, and indeed this saga has moved forward and backward in time, telling a number of different kinds of stories in a galaxy far, far away.

Today, Ashley Eckstein is known for voicing one of the most popular "Star Wars" characters of the 21st century: Ahsoka Tano. The performer, who has won praise and recognition for her turn as the Togruta Jedi turned Rebel, surprised audiences when she made her debut in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." She quickly proved herself capable of not just kicking major butt in the "Star Wars" universe but also of being great enough to slip into existing canon without alienating picky fans of the original and prequel trilogies.
Since Ahsoka's introduction, she's become a massively popular character, starring in "Star Wars Rebels" and "Tales of the Jedi" and making the leap to live action, with Rosario Dawson putting on the head tails to embody the character. After the "Star Wars" prequel films, we could have called it a day for the franchise. Instead, we got a film and a series about a character named Ahsoka Tano (voice of Ashley Eckstein), who has become a fan favorite. So much so that she made several TV series cameos and got her own live-action Disney+ series with Rosario Dawson taking over the role. The young Togruta woman who apprenticed with Anakin Skywalker before his fall to the dark side first appeared in the animated film "The Clone Wars," which served as the beginning of the animated series of the same name.

The finale of Disney+'s Ahsoka subtly connected Ray Stevenson's Baylan Skoll to the Ones from Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Mortis arc, but recent concept art from the episode confirmed one element that many Star Wars fans couldn't agree on.
Ray Stevenson's Baylan Skoll played a major role throughout Ahsoka, and even though he didn't appear in a major way in the show's last episode, his brief scene did connect him to some of the more mystical parts of the Star Wars universe.
During Stevenson's last scene, he was shown standing atop a statue of the Father, one of the Mortis gods seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. However, the statue of the Father wasn't alone - a statue of the Son accompanied it.

Star Wars officially explained why Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker had a cameo in Disney+'s Ahsoka finale.
Anakin's biggest role came in the fifth chapter as the famed Jedi guided his former Padawan through a series of Clone Wars flashbacks in the World Between Worlds, leading to valuable lessons and the pair even coming to blows.
He would later appear in Episode 7 as a hologram in a pre-recorded training video where he referenced three major The Clone Wars villains before coming to Ahsoka as a Force ghost in the season finale.
