With "Paranormal Activity 3" raking in $202 million in worldwide box-office revenue from a budget of only $5 million, the only surprise is Paramount has taken this long to announce another chapter in the supernatural saga.
In a just issued press release, the studio has confirmed that a fourth film in the series is on the way but haven't announced a specific date as yet. Due to the low budget and quick turnaround time, the previous sequels didn't begin shooting until the Summer ahead of their October releases. No doubt the same pattern will be employed here.
The film joins a slightly quieter 2012 slate for the studio which includes "World War Z," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "The Dictator," "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters," "A Thousand Words," "My Mother's Curse" and "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted".

90210 announced this week the surprising return of a formerly recurring character. But that won't take place until 2012.
This Tuesday, though, on the episode titled "A Thousand Words," Liam will be in for a surprise of his own. What might convince this handsome high school graduate to pursue a career in modeling? Why might he go from resistant to enthusiastic? Watch the sneak peek and find out:
90210 Clip: "A Thousand Words"
Also ahead on the installment, as teased in the CW promo: Teddy will face fallout from his Las Vegas wedding, while Annie will do anything to help Dixon kick his drug habit.

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? We Need To Talk About Kevin Trailer The French had a crack at this, [1] now us Americans have a shot. Director Lynne Ramsay certainly has...

See, kids, this is why a trip to Las Vegas is a bad idea.
A week after the 90210 gang took its antics to Sin City, many will experience a fallout on next Tuesday night's "A Thousand Words." No one more than Teddy, who watches in horror in the following promo while his wedding is somehow leaked to the local news.
Elsewhere: Dina Meyer guest stars as a woman who wants to help with Liam's modeling career, while Annie will do anything (or anyone?) to help Dixon with his drug problem. Ivy and Raj will also take a very hard look at their future as a couple.

One of the most well-noted elements of last year’s hit Easy A — in addition to Emma Stone, of course — was the script by Bert Royal. Fox Searchlight has taken notice of his work, with Variety reporting that the studio has optioned his spec script, A Thousand Words, with the screenwriter set to make his directorial debut on the film. Meanwhile, Shailene Woodley, who can be seen later this year in Alexander Payne‘s The Descendants, has been picked to star.
The story is centered on “a national essay competition that sends three ambitious teenagers into a sexy game of one-upmanship.” The film will be produced by Michelle Manning of Mm Productions, as well as Royal’s manager, Dana Jackson. Comparisons will obviously be made to Easy A, but this sounds like a somewhat larger project than that movie (at least, in terms of logistics and plot). I’m not...

Easy A writer Bert Royal sold his latest comedy pitch to Fox Searchlight. Titled A Thousand Words, Royal described the story as a comedy about three teens who try to out-perform each other at a national essay competition. Royal also signed on to make A Thousand Words his directing debut. Variety reported that veteran producer Michelle Manning, who was an associate producer on the coming-of-age classic Sixteen Candles and co-produced The Breakfast Club, boarded the project as producer via her Mm Productions shingle along with Bert Royal’s manager Dana Jackson. Royal previously worked on the TV series Third Watch, Chappelle’s Show and Gigantic. Shailene Woodley, who stars on the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager, continued talks to star in A Thousand Words.

In an attempt to appear human, right-wing political aristocrat and 2012 United States Presidental hopeful Mitt Romney admits to enjoying the Twilight phenomenon, which kind of just makes us hate him even more.
I feel bad for CNN's Gabriella Schwarz, who had to interview Mitt Romney about how he's totally a human being and watches TV, just like all the rest of us human beings who want to overturn Roe vs. Wade, but believe in the death penalty, are opposed to marriage equality, want to ban pornography, and have undying support for 'abstinence-only' programs in school.
First he admits he doesn't own an "i-Pod," (or whatever his researchers and assistants told him currently exists), and then he claims he watches TV and movies. You know, just like us ordinary peasant "people", with our gadgets and regular jobs!
Quote:
"I mean I like the Twilight series. I thought it was fun," Romney said.

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words! Plus Some Extra!
This week I thought we would just take a look at the week's news by mocking the hell out of it! Yep, it's fun with captions!
After getting busted for removing a picture of two guys from the UK sudser Eastenders smooching, Facebook went into damage control!
Rocker and rightwing loon Ted Nugent took to the airwaves to protest La Laker Kobe Bryant getting fined $100,000 for calling a ref a "f***ing faggot." For Ted, this just further proved how good us gays have it in America, while Christians are so persecuted that you can hardly find a church to attend. Or a Christian elected official. Or a bible.
Speaking of us gays and our quest for "special rights," U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker came under concerted attack because he's gay and didn't recuse himself from ruling on...

As film critics, we often tear down without creating. We usually complain about how certain genres like horror and fantasy have gotten weaker. We complain and complain, but we never offer up solutions. So I've decided to run a column this week to cull suggestions of what you as a moderately rational filmgoing base are craving in your genre films. What would you like to see done on the big screen?
Oh, the Rom-Com. Like our future mates, it's impossible to sync perfectly with what makes us swoon. For example, everyone around here seems to worship at the altar of Tilda Swinton. I think she's a terrific actress, but y'all must be looking through a funhouse fucking mirror if you think she's beautiful. I'd say she's striking, as in when I see images of her, I feel like someone's striking me in the face with a branding iron. But to each his or her own.

Carlsbad - LEGOs…those colorful blocks that snap together so easily. Many view them as a childhood toy, but they’re serious fun among collectors and adult builders. They can vacation at the American LEGOland. They can get those rare pieces at Lego stores across the country in malls. Lego video games featuring Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones are all the rage. Keeping up with what’s happening in Lego is about as foreboding a task as your mother keeping up with your LEGOs.
Joe Meno organizes the Lego universe through BrickJournal magazine. The periodical announces upcoming products, events and how-to articles by top buildings. It’s a coffeetable magazine featuring all the Lego pieces your kids lost under the sofa. The pages are addictive even for someone mildly interested in Lego with illustrations that show how the plastic building blocks can snap into amazing works of art. For...

Fresh off the last case tracking down a South Texas murderer who hunted illegal immigrants, Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and the Bau team travel to Tallahassee to aid local law enforcement when a serial killer commits suicide, but leaves behind clues to the possible location of his last victim in "…A Thousand Words" airing Wednesday, May 5th on CBS. Hotch’s team discover that the tattoos covering the deceased killer’s body aren’t just there for show, they’re actually portraits of his victims. And there is one victim unaccounted for who could still be alive. Using the killer’s inked body as a map, along with clues in his layer, they must put the puzzle together to find out where the last girl is being held, hopefully before it’s too late.

School started again last week. Bye bye summer, hello 8th grade. We had to do an assignment in one of my classes where you bring in an object or picture that means something to you and talk to the class about why it is special. I know it sounds like a kindergarten assignment, like show and tell, but it isn't at all. The object couldn't just be a piece of Lego, it had to be something that affects your life. (I guess to someone a Lego could be really meaningful, but it doesn't do much for me. ) I brought in a picture of one of my grandfathers, Bob Thiele. My other grandparents are probably reading this and are getting ready to call me up and say, "Why didn't you bring in a picture of me?" Well......
