Xoxo, Upper East Siders. Chuck Bass is getting married and Lily Van Der Woodsen is invited.
“I miss that character, but I am still in touch with almost everyone from the show. I am going to Ed’s [Westwick] wedding and I am so excited,” admitted “Gossip Girl” star Kelly Rutherford at French TV festival Series Mania.
In the “still relevant” show, she played the impossibly glamorous mother of Blake Lively’s Serena.
“It was before this whole super politically correct time. We were on the verge of it and there is just a different energy about it. After the first season, we knew [it was huge].”
“Gossip Girl” ended in 2012.
“The women I grew up with were very chic, but I hadn’t really seen a mother like that on TV. I didn’t realize how much people loved Lily – until now. At first, it was all about these kids. We were just parents.

Better known in France for male-skewing action and teen comedy, Amazon Prime Video looks to conquer new ground with its raunchy French soap “Escort Boys.” Highlighting the country’s changing gender power dynamics with an eye-candy cast and grown-up jokes, “Escort Boys” looks to build on an interesting momentum as France experiences its most divisive #MeToo moment ever around iconic actor Gerard Depardieu’s downfall.
The timely series, which is the French adaptation of the Israeli show “Johnny and the Knights of Galilee” (“Milk and Honey”) marks the first French scripted title acquired at an early stage by Prime Video for France and English-speaking territories such as North America, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, along with a string of international territories including Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal. Will Ferrell.s tireless efforts to promote Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues have paid off handsomely as the comedy he co-wrote with director Adam McKay dominated the Australian box-office last weekend.
Ferrell.s turn as clueless anchorman Ron Burgundy, co-starring Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Aussie Josh Lawson, raked in $5.2 million in four days, plus $360,000 in Wednesday night previews.
That eclipses the original, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, which wound up earning a modest $2.28 million in Oz in 2004.
Pro-rata, the Australian launch is much bigger than in the Us where Paramount.s comedy took $US26.2 million in the first three days and $39.4 million in five days.
Ferrell cut a lot of promos specifically for the UK, where the sequel opened with an estimated £4.5 million ( $8.2 million) and Oz, the overseas markets which were most receptive to the original.

American Hustle, the comedy inspired by an FBI sting in the 1970s, directed by Silver Linings Playbook's David O. Russell, has struck a chord with Australian cinemagoers.
The film starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams and Christian Bale raked in $2.18 million on 285 screens last weekend.
That was just 4 grand more than the fourth weekend of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which advanced to $31.9 million, albeit falling by 38%. Hence two films starring Jennifer Lawrence occupy the top two spots at the Australian box-office, a rare feat.
Takings overall slipped by 8% to $9.2 million as none of the other newcomers made serious money. There will need to be a strong finish to the year if the 2013 B.O. is to match or beat the 2012 total. Through the end of November industry-wide grosses were trailing last year by about 3%.

After a few weeks of negotiations Palace Films has finalised the contracts for 10 films from the Cannes Film Festival and market for release in 2014.
That wasn.t a record haul from Cannes for the distributor but general manager Nicolas Whatson rates it as .definitely one of the busiest markets in recent years..
As for the time it takes to finalise deals, Whatson observes, .Sometimes contracts not only take weeks, they can take months. On occasion Cannes deals are made on a handshake or on a napkin at 3am. Then the fun begins..
The upcoming slate is an eclectic mix of films from the UK, Italy, France and Latin America. Still Life stars Eddie Marsan and Downton Abbey.s Joanne Froggart in the poignant tale of a lonely council worker whose job is to find the next of kin of those who have passed away alone; from The Full Monty producer/director Uberto Pasolini.
