Danny Dyer stars alongside creator and writer Ryan Sampson in Mr Bigstuff, and here’s the trailer for the new sitcom.
Danny Dyer may be better known these days as Mick Carter in EastEnders, but before that, he’d been a steady presence in British film for over two decades, from his debut in Justin Kerrigan’s Human Traffic through The Football Factory and Severance.
The one thing Dyer had never done was lead a sitcom – until now. Mr Bigstuff is created and written by Ryan Sampson, who’s perhaps best known for starring alongside Nicholas Lyndhurst and Celia Imrie in BBC sitcom After You’ve Gone, and for co-starring in ITV2 sitcom Plebs.
The synopsis, per the British Comedy Guide, reads as follows:
Mr Bigstuff explores broken families, fragile masculinity and carpet sales. It tells the story of two estranged brothers; Glen (Ryan Sampson), a nervy perfectionist striving to live...

"We don't run from our problems." Sky TV has revealed an official UK trailer for a comedy series titled Mr. Bigstuff, arriving to watch in the UK starting this July (though no US launch yet). The series stars actor Danny Dyer, best known for his various "tough guy" roles like Moff in Human Traffic, Tommy Johnson in The Football Factory, and Mick Carter in Eastenders. When two estranged brothers Glen (Ryan Sampson) and Lee (Danny Dyer) find themselves under one roof in "idyllic" suburbia, their lives start to unravel faster than a cheap carpet. Glen is a nervy perfectionist and carpet salesman striving to live a suburban ideal and Lee is an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction and a tin full of their dad's ashes. Written & created by Ryan Sampson, this "relatable, irreverent comedy about brotherhood, manhood and carpet sales" is set in Essex. Also with Harriet Webb,...

British actor Danny Dyer has claimed that he wasn’t really “acknowledged” for his acting until starring in BBC primetime soap EastEnders.
The star of gritty British dramas such as The Football Factory and Vendetta highlighted the “snobbery” around UK soaps, which remain some of the highest rated scripted series on British television.
Dyer joined the BBC One series, which is based around a community in East London, in 2013. He has since picked up National Television Awards and TV Choice Awards for his role as pub landlord Mick Carter. Speaking on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show, he said, “It’s mad because towards soap there is a bit of snobbery and I think I was part of that mob when I was making films, you think you’re cool and cult. Just ahead of its fall season rollout, which launches tonight, the CW is already looking ahead, announcing its 2019 summer programming lineup. It features six original series — one new and five returning — including three acquired dramas, as the CW has renewed all of its summer 2018 series. It is one of the CW’s biggest slates of original shows specifically designated for the off-season. The network has acquired British action drama Bulletproof from Sky Vision and ordered second seasons of legal drama Burden of Truth, starring Kristin Kreuk, and fantasy-adventure series The Outpost. The CW has also ordered new seasons of the hit magic series Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Masters Of Illusion, and the classic improv comedy Whose Line Is It Anyway? all set for premiere in summer 2019. Cast your minds back to 2002 - a time when Pop Idols didn't need to have The X Factor, Fifty Shades of Grey were just colours on a paint sampler chart and David Beckham was a mere international superstar rather than global megastar.
Bend It Like Beckham, with a modest estimated budget of £3.7 million, opened that same year and became a critical and commercial success - breaking box office records and scoring BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations, as well as making household names of many of its stars.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year (again), and as usual it’s getting to those last few weeks before the big day when creative ideas and planning make way for frantic grabs at whatever is left on the shelves after the Black Friday zombie hordes have cleared everything out.
But fear not: because the best of Christmas is watching movies, re-watching old TV specials and trying hard to forget that George Lucas ever decided that anyone wanted a Star Wars Christmas show, there’ll always be a helping hand round these parts for those who want it.
So if you’re buying for a difficult brother, a picky sister or just for the film, gaming or TV fan in your life, what follows is a compendium of the finest gift ideas for this year’s festivities, as usual there are massive opportunities to win most of what has been included…...

Move over Christian Bale, there's a new foul-mouthed movie set tirade everyone's talking about.
It comes from EastEnders star Danny Dyer, who let loose on the set of The Hooligan Factory - a movie he's not even in! Warning, the below video is extremely Nsfw...
Spoofing might generally be considered flattery when it comes to making movies (see: Scream/Scary Movie), but The Football Factory star didn't take the Jason Maza-starring flick as an homage. Primarily because he wasn't invited along for the ride.
"They want to make a f**king film about hooligans, f**king taking the p*ss out of me and all," Dyer says in the spoof video.
"They don't want to roll me in! I've got enough f**king enemies out there slagging me off every f**king day of my life. I've got these c**ts running about giving it the big 'un."

This football hooligan genre film about an expelled Harvard student who joins West Ham's firm is compellingly awful – but it's entertaining if you can't sleep
• More from My guilty pleasure
I am prone to insomnia. I'll lie in bed for a couple of hours, then go turn on the TV and flick through the channels until I find something that holds my attention, often on the film channels. Sometimes it's The Ring, but, when it's on, nothing beats Green Street (Green Street Hooligans in the Us). I've seen it countless times now, though I'm not sure I've ever seen it in its entirety at one sitting – it tends to be 30 minutes here, 45 there, an hour somewhere else. But between all those partial sittings, I've managed several complete run-throughs.

Even the best football movies struggle to capture the sport's drama on film. The worst (and there are many) are truly abysmal
Why has cinema found football to be such a tricky customer? Football scenes in film and television are traditionally very awkward affairs, with the "defenders" tip-toeing nervously around the "attackers" as they advance, the goal finally coming via the sort of impractical flying volley you just never see on a real pitch. It's clearly very difficult to let someone score a script-dictated goal while pretending to try to stop them but, at the same time, trying not to look like you're pretending to try to stop them. Perhaps they teach it at Rada, who knows?
Furthermore, filmmakers have the challenge of adding a fictional big-screen gloss to what is already an overwhelmingly camera-friendly and consistently dramatic spectacle in its own right. Real-life football already has its own "script...

He’s been commendably honest about taking on under-par projects to pay his mortgage and turkeys like Pimp and Run For Your Wife have made Danny Dyer’s Pinter-endorsed heyday seem a distant Mockney memory. Unfortunately for Dyer and writer/director Stephen Reynolds, their collaboration on revenge thriller Vendetta will likely be judged by the star’s several cinematic sins. Which is a shame, because this Dagenham Death Wish – or Romford Rambo, if you like – isn’t just a slick and confidently made pot-boiler, it’s also a film featuring Dyer’s best performance since The Football Factory. With Danny Dyer coming into Walford as new Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, the mockney archetype has sparked a lot of opinion from various forum sites and social media. The votes seem to be split 50/50 with some expressing their love for his working-class nature and the rest dubbing him ‘Danny Dire’. To be fair, he has previously been criticized to limiting himself to the same cockney role in TV shows such as Skins or films like The Football Factory. However, this may work in his favour – he certainly won’t be out of his depth as he will be playing the same role he has become famous for – The working-class cockney, with a different angle from the writers of the successful soap of course.
The criticism of Dyer leading quite a narrow career in terms of acting roles overall, could be seen as irrelevant – Eastenders is full of ‘cockney geezers...

Stars: Billy Clarke, Luke Healy, Joshua Mayes-Cooper, Bernard Hill, Graham Till | Written and Directed by Anthony Woodley
Outpost 11, the first feature film for director Anthony Woodley, is science-fiction, pure and simple, and I went into the feature with little-to-no knowledge of what it was about or what to expect.
The film stars Billy Clarke (Hunger), Luke Healy (The Football Factory), Joshua Mayes-Cooper and, with a small role, Bernard Hill (Lord of the Rings). The cast, though mostly people I wasn’t much aware of prior to seeing this, are all very good and their performances are sturdy. Billy Clarke, who plays Graham, is particularly excellent in his role. Unsympathetic and sometimes just plain contemptible, he is a bizarre character that we discover more about as the film proceeds.
The story is captivating, an alternative past where the World is being run on the power of steam. We follow a...

The Football Factory and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels actor Frank Harper is on familiar stomping ground as the star, co-writer and director of this guns'n'geezers crimefest. It all kicks off when London's most notorious gangster cousins (Harper and Craig Fairbrass) fall foul of the Russian mafia. To settle their debts, the boys plan a heist in Berlin to coincide with an England-Germany football match.

Written and directed by Paul Tanter, White Collar Hooligan 2: England Away will be hitting the big screen this May. Picking up eighteen months after Tanter’s original film, The Rise and Fall of a White Collar Hooligan, the film sees Mike and Eddie going global.
We’ve got less than three months to wait before the crime sequel arrives, and we’re lucky enough to have the first trailer to share exclusively with you. And as you can imagine, there’s more than enough to make this trailer Nsfw.
Taking things international for White Collar Hooligan 2 looks to be a great move, raising the stakes and the action, and you can feel we’ve got a sweet British crime movie here coming our way in May.
“Eighteen months on from the events of The Rise & Fall of a White Collar Hooligan; Mike and Katie are living happily in Spain...

After making his directorial debut back in 2011 with the British crime-drama Terry, Nick Nevern has returned behind the camera this year for his second film, The Hooligan Factory.
This time around, Nevern is stepping into new territory, marking the first high-profile movie to spoof the Football hooligan genre that has found such impressive success on our shores in recent years.
Production has been underway since the middle of January, and it officially wrapped on Sunday. And we’ve had the first look image sent over in hi-res.
“Danny (Jason Maza) wants something more. Expelled from school and living in his grandfather’s flat, he longs to live up to the image of his estranged father Danny Senior. Meanwhile legendary football hooligan Dexter (Nick Nevern) is about to be released from prison and is on a quest of his own, one of vengeance against his nemesis and rival firm leader The...
