1. Parasite (2019)
R | 132 min | Drama, Thriller
Greed and class discrimination threaten the newly-formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.
Director: Bong Joon Ho | Stars: Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-sik
Votes: 960,795 | Gross: $53.37M
9.9/10. Finally! I know this is a 2019 film but it wasn't available in any nearby theater and I had to wait for a library copy! So, finally, I can say I've seen it and I have to say, I really liked it! The most I knew about this film pre-seeing it was that it was huge at all the festivals, it had a super interesting plot, and it was the Oscar Best Picture winner of 2020. Positives, this movie is stunning! The house that the Park family lives in is just gorgeous and to read about how it was a special set was so amazing. The actors of both the Park and the Kim families were just so phenomenal as the characters. I honestly found myself loving the mothers of the Kim and Park family! The story itself is probably one of the most interesting ones I had seen from last year and I definitely see why Bong Joon-ho won for Best Original Screenplay. That dinner party scene was insane and definitely left me a little freaked out. The film perfectly uses up it's run time and you never feel bored. Honestly, Parasite is an amazing film and I recommend everyone watch it!
2. Love, Antosha (2019)
R | 92 min | Documentary, Biography, Music
A portrait of the extraordinary life and career of actor Anton Yelchin.
Director: Garret Price | Stars: Anton Yelchin, J.J. Abrams, Sofia Boutella, Nicolas Cage
Votes: 1,711 | Gross: $0.05M
10/10 Another one that was 2019 released that I had to wait to get from my library and it was worth the wait! Honestly, in recent years I had started to read about Anton Yelchin because he was an actor who I always thought was taken too soon and honestly had such a horrible death. So when I heard there was an upcoming documentary, I knew I was going to love it...and I did! This documentary is mostly narrated by Nicolas Cage (which I didn't realize until the credits) and co-stars of Anton like Chris Pine, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jennifer Lawerence, and many others also appear in the film. But it mostly shows from Anton's parents who you can tell just love talking about their son and you can feel the pain as we get closer to the unfortunate end. This film shows Anton in a much more candid and comfortable way. You see his acting work, his TV work, his...unique photography, and his music. It also shows how dedicated Anton was to his work and how even though he suffered from Cystic fibrosis, he somehow found a way to keep working. Honestly, I love a celebrity-based documentary (one of my favorite films is Amy, the 2015 Amy Winehouse documentary) and Love Antosha is another one of those that will be in my favorites. Hopefully, more people will watch this and see the amazing man that was Anton Yelchin.

Votes: 264,823 | Gross: $84.16M
8.5/10. Ever since the first announcement of this movie, I've been completely hyped and this movie definitely lived up to my hype. I think DC needs to just start letting directors do what they want with these movies and I think them finally stopping to try being like Marvel is great. Positives first, as always. Margot F#cking Robbie. By god, Margot has become one of my favorite actresses and she is the perfect Harley Quinn. Honestly, I cannot think of another actress who could pull off Harley Quinn like Margot (Well, Brittany Murphy would've killed it!) Margot just plays such a perfect psycho and I love her. Jurnee Smollett-Bell is amazing as Black Canary and I really want to see her in more movies. She just was so good. Ella Jay Basco was really great and I just loved her. Rosie Perez is just the badass that she always is and kills it as Renee Montoya. Always glad to see Ali Wong and Ewan McGregor is really great as Black Mask but kinda wish his role was bigger. The film itself is really vibrant and I just love all the colors. I guess my negative is Mary Elizabeth Winstead who I really like but I feel was just shafted to the side and got a much smaller character but maybe that's what they wanted. In all, I would recommend Birds of Prey to any comic-book fan or even a good movie to watch.
5. Emma. (2020)

Votes: 62,800
8.5/10. I wasn't expecting to see this until it got its wide release but luckily a local theater was showing it so I got to see this early! I had never read the Jane Austen book but my mom had and she said it was pretty accurate. Anya Taylor-Joy is just amazing as Emma and she is honestly the highlight of the film. Honestly, Anya has become my favorite actress of recent. Mia Goth is very fun as Harriet Smith and an actress I definitely want to see in more things. The rest of the cast is really great as well and it's the highlight of the movie. The costumes are to die for, the entire mansions and town along with the land is just gorgeous, the score is so perfect (Also didn't know Phoebe Waller-Bridge's sister is a composer!) Honestly, Emma is a fun watch for any Austen fan or period piece fan!
