go fuck urself philip - alfred hitchcock (circa 2017) Direction: 11/10 Writing: 9/10 Story: 9/10 Acting: 9/10 Music: 10/10 Overall: 48/50 Verdict: the film that made me fall into movies, also the first film that made me notice the camera being used as a dramatic storytelling device to elevate viewer's emotion. Almost every scene is perfectly shot and framed, the use of colour here is not only gorgeous but effective in elevating the mystery aspect of this film by drawing the audiences attention to specific parts of the frame. Finally, the way hitchcock controls the camera and pacing in this film kept me intrigued and invested in the mystery. fincher is the only other person who i feel has come close to perfecting the thriller/mystery genre as hitch had done with vertigo
