Zayn’s starting point for his fourth studio album Room Under the Stairs was an emotional low point. “Alienated” began in his home studio in rural Pennsylvania, where he wrote the majority of the record on his own in a state of both creative and physical isolation. The percussive track simmers in solitary sorrow as the musician dives simultaneously into the darkest depths of his mind and the bottom of a bottle. “Know my reasons for the pain, but if you brought it in front of me I know I’d do it all again,...

Godzilla Minus One was truly a spectacle. The film has been regarded as one of the most successful films of the Godzilla film series, and its director, Takashi Yamazaki, can be thanked for it. The film has received a lot of critical acclaim for many different reasons. One of its most prominent assets is its visual effects, impressively winning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
Godzilla Minus One
The film also made a lot of money during its box office release, almost going above $116 million worldwide. Despite all its success, it would seem that Toho Studios made a huge mistake less than a year after the film’s release that will certainly affect its profit.

There’s only one major Marvel movie coming out this year, and Scarlett Johansson’s husband was decidedly not pleased about that on this week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.” So, he made sure to give the studio a stern warning during Weekend Update.
Yes, obviously we’re talking about co-anchor Colin Jost. He and Johansson — who starred as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the MCU — have been married since 2020 and share a son together. But, providing for the family wasn’t the issue Jost had in mind. He was thinking of another bill entirely.
During the week’s headlines, Jost pointed out that 2024 marked the first year since 2009 that a Marvel movie didn’t kick off the Summer movie season..
“Which better be a one-time thing because a lot of people rely on Marvel movies to pay for the ferries they bought,” Jost quipped.

The content that will be accessible includes “time-tested recipes, expert health and financial information, leading style and entertainment content, and rigorous product reviews.” ChatGPT will display content and links in its responses.
The companies will also work together in other areas, including integrating OpenAI tech into Ddm’s cookieless ad-targeting solution and working “to create new AI products and features for its readers and use historical and ongoing Ddm content to enhance its model’s performance.”

Stavis’ work ranges from the personal and therapeutic to paranormal investigations, and content makers are taking notice. Stavis is currently in the casting phase for her feature directorial debut “Da Wee Do Wa,” for which she also wrote the script. James Kennedy is crediting his girlfriend, Ally Lewber with making him a “better man.” The Vanderpump Rules star and DJ has been a hit throughout Season 11. Now he is opening up as to what has changed him so much and why he has evolved. Keep reading for more details.
James Kennedy Credits Ally For Making Him ‘Better Man’
For many seasons of Vanderpump Rules, James Kennedy was insufferable. Viewers got their first glimpse of the busboy-turned-dj at the Season 2 Sur photo shoot. Then, he became a staple the following season when he started dating Kristen Doute. He was supposed to move in with Tom Sandoval but ended up dating his ex-girlfriend instead. Kennedy had a very combative attitude when he would drink and often got into it with Jax Taylor and some of the ladies of the show. He even gave attitude to Lisa Vanderpump who always stood by his side no matter what.

Invincible Season 2 concluded with a banger and the fans have already taken over the internet to express their excitement for the show’s future. The show that took a mature and bloody take on the superhero genre has been successful in impressing the audience for two entire seasons. But now the creator Robert Kirkman claims that the series will be even crazier in Season 3.
A still from Invincible
The superhero media had been largely dominated by Marvel and DC before Prime Video entered the genre with their shows like The Boys and Invincible. It delivered an entirely new experience to the fans who were tired of the generic superhero projects. The two seasons of Robert Kirkman’s show have already earned immense appreciation, and it is only expected to rise more in the future.

Imagine yourself at a club night on board the Fhloston Paradise cruise spaceship in The Fifth Element. Looking out the window, you realize you’ve just landed in the dystopian LA of Blade Runner and neither Willis or Gosling are around to save you…
There’s nothing left to do but to give in and surrender yourself to the moment while Takykardia is blasting out of the speakers arriving into the unknown Spring of 2024 with the new retro-futuristic anthem, ‘You Got Me Feeling Bad’.
“There is an urge between the three of us to channel out unexplored energies. The only limit is our imagination, and as an act, we strive to evolve and to stay curious about the past, the now and the future,” lead singer Luna Matz says about the making of new Takykardia-songs along with Troels Dankert (drums) and David Nedergaard (keyboards). Twin Peaks. Sunnydale. Castle Rock. Hawkins… America’s TV monopoly on small towns where Weird Stuff Happens has gone on for too long. Britain was once home to The Wicker Man, Children of the Stones and The Prisoner, all classics of the ‘something’s not right here’ genre. Isn’t it about time the UK put a few creepy burgs back on the map?

The Japanese film Godzilla Minus One seemed to be a surprise hit among fans and was lauded for its VFX and action sequences. The film received an Academy Award-nominated for Best Visual Effects, making it the first Godzilla film to be nominated for the prestigious award. Godzilla Minus One also earned $107 million at the box office against a $12 million budget.
The Godzilla franchise has long been regarded as a metaphor for the threat of nuclear warfare and Japan’s morbid history with the weapon. Another film criticizing nuclear warfare was Christopher Nolan’s epic war film Oppenheimer, which surprisingly did not show the Japanese perspective of the war. Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki mentioned that someday he would like to counter Oppenheimer’s narrative with a film of his own.

It might have been Takashi Yamazaki’s lucky day when he was hired to create what has now become an absolute cinematic wonder, Godzilla Minus One. In the entire cinematic history of bringing the various iterations of Godzilla and similar characters on-screen, the Japanese Kaiju flick stands as the champion among them despite having a measly, humble budget of $10-12 million.
Godzilla Minus One, directed by Takashi Yamazaki
Not only has Yamazaki’s epic been an incredible commercial success, but it has also been an amazing box office success, so much so that it went on to gross over 9 times its budget. Given its massive success, the filmmaker wants to make a sequel. However, it would be one similar to what Godzilla vs. Kong achieved an epic Kaiju vs. Kaiju showdown.

Awards show junkies got everything they expected at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. Succession and The Bear took home a truckload of golden trophies, with the former closing out its legendary run in glory and the latter just getting warmed up (Hulu’s chaotic cooking dramedy was actually cleaning up with nominations from its first season way back in 2022 due to the Emmys’ strike-related delay) These behemoths left many shows out in the cold, but none more so than Better Call Saul.

A super Pac with ties to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is lavishing money on some embarrassingly bad ads supporting President Joe Biden’s long-shot challenger, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.). According to disclosures, We Deserve Better, launched last year, has spent $665,000 so far boosting Phillips, including $154,000 on TV ads.
Phillips, a late entry into the presidential race, is pouring his energy into New Hampshire, operating on the theory that a triumph in the first-in-the nation primary, where Biden will not appear on the ballot, could catapult his candidacy to national relevance.

Fargo creator Noah Hawley is making an Alien TV series for “FX on Hulu”, and the show started filming in Bangkok, Thailand last year – but then, after a month, production had to be paused to wait out the Screen Actors Guild strike. That strike is now over, and Alien is expected to resume filming any day now. As production revs back up, Deadline has learned that Moe Bar-El, whose previous credits include The Peripheral, Better, Femme, and Count Abdulla, has been cast in a recurring role. They just weren’t able to dig up any details on the role he’ll be playing.

The Drums’ new album Jonny is out today, and along with it is a music video for the song “Dying,” featuring Rico Nasty. Check it out below.
Nothing about “Dying” is expected. On paper, it’s already hard to imagine Jonny Pierce’s indie pop project collaborating with Rico, who veers more toward metal in her own alternative-rap songs. Yet, the single isn’t indie pop or rap rock; with a harp-like electronic melody and nasally, earnest vocals, “Dying” finds the artists combine hyperpop and emo to create something totally unique.
In a statement, Pierce chalked “Dying” up to an unshakeable feeling of loneliness. “For much of my life, I have felt like a ghost floating outside of my own body, outside of my own experiences, outside of my own relationships,” he said. “The song and video portray that frustrating disconnection to self, and how that disconnect plays a part...

The historic Power Trip festival kicked off on Friday night (October 6th) in Indio, California. The three-day event features six of the biggest hard rock and heavy metal acts in the world, with two bands performing each night.
Tens of thousands of fans descended upon the Empire Polo Club, the same site where Coachella is held every year. They were greeted by a giant devil-horn-shaped cactus, letting them know that they were in for a weekend of legendary rock music.
Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden had the honor of playing the first night, with Maiden taking the stage first at 6:55 p.m., about 10 minutes later than the advertised 6:45 set time.
Instead of playing a “greatest hits” set, as could have been expected at an event such as Power Trip, Maiden stuck with their current “Future Past World Tour” setlist, which features the band playing songs predominantly from their latest album,...

Jonny Pierce is back with “The Flowers,” a new look at his upcoming Drums album Jonny.
“The Flowers” has the same kind of infectious guitar and sprightly percussion as any classic by The Drums, but this go around, Pierce croons much more personal lyrics rather than chirping along about money or surfing. It’s a fitting approach for a song the artist explained is all about learning how to be gentle.
“With ‘The Flowers’ I explain how slowing down and being tender saved my life and how it became the key to loving myself, building confidence in myself, and being able to love another in a meaningful way,” Pierce said in a statement. “To love from a place that isn’t desperate, but from a place that is centered, calm, and gentle and sweet. ”
The single is The Drums’ latest offering from Jonny, out in full October 13th. Along with the previously released tracks “Better,...

An upcoming Nsync album and tour hasn’t been announced, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t happen.
The band — which consists of Justin Timberlake, Jc Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone — thrilled fans last week after reuniting at the 2023 MTV VMAs to present the Best Pop Video award to a very excited Taylor Swift.
Band members have since, unsurprisingly, been bombarded with reunion questions after announcing their first new music in over 20 years; the “Trolls Band Together” track “Better Place”.

Reese Witherspoon wasn’t comfortable doing that sex scene in the 1996 flick “Fear”.
The “Legally Blonde” actress — who was 19 at the time — starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in the thriller.
In the film, Witherspoon’s character Nicole, whose love interest is Wahlberg’s David, experiences an orgasm on a roller coaster.
A synopsis for the movie reads, “When Nicole met David; handsome, charming, affectionate, he was everything. It seemed perfect, but soon she sees that David has a darker side. And his adoration turns to obsession, their dream into a nightmare, and her love into fear.”

Over the past few years, The Drums has essentially become the solo project of Jonny Pierce, and he’s about to get more personal than ever: Jonny, the indie pop musician’s sixth studio album, is set to arrive October 13th via Anti-. Along with the news comes the record’s latest single “Better.”
Jonny sees Pierce really dig into his past, comprised of songs that confront his “cult-like” religious upbringing and how it still affects him through adulthood. But it’s not all in contempt — in hindsight, he’s been able to make something like peace with his traumatic childhood, and Jonny also promises a sense of optimism and gratitude.
“When I finished Jonny, I listened to it, and I heard my soul reflected back at me,” Pierce explains in a press release. “It is devastating and triumphant, it is lost and found, it is confused and certain,...

The “Like a Prayer” singer was in the intensive care unit dealing with a serious bacterial infection, which developed Saturday, leading to a several-day stay in the ICU.
A source tells Et that Madonna was “doing well and feeling good in her rehearsals” and staying up as late as 3:30 a.m. some nights to perfect her moves for the coming tour prior to suffering the infection.

It's the end of an era. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is the final James Gunn film at Marvel Studios as he's moved on to head up the Dcu with producer Peter Safran. The last outing of the Guardians team we know and love is going to be emotional for a lot of fans, and the team itself is in pretty rough shape when we find them. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) is still pining for the other version of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), who died in "Avengers: Endgame," and this version doesn't have the same memories or interest in him. Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) is having nightmares about his past, and everyone is still trying to come to terms with what they've been through over the past few years.
As for Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff), they're starting to act more like sisters in terms of bickering than actual sisters Nebula and Gamora.

Yes, a “Harry Potter” reboot in the form of a TV series is coming to Max over the next decade, setting an entirely new cast for the trio fans have come to know and love. But “The Tonight Show” Jimmy Fallon offered a first-look at that cast on Wednesday — which apparently includes Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Ok, obviously, Fallon didn’t get crazy early access to the actual new cast of “Harry Potter.” In the segment, he simply fan-casted a few of the roles based on lookalike photos. Naturally, the late night host started with the boy at the center of everything — and this time around, the boy who lived will be played by the congressman who lied.
“In the reboot, Harry Potter will be played by George Santos,” Fallon joked. “Next up, Lucius Malfoy will be played by Marjorie Taylor Greene. Here’s another: Voldemort will be played by Jeff Bezos.

If you were, as I was, a big fan of ABC’s workplace satire Better Off Ted, it may feel slightly surprising at first that Netflix’s Unstable hails from the same creator — Victor Fresco, credited this time alongside stars Rob Lowe and John Owen Lowe.
Where Better Off Ted’s Veridian Dynamics stood as a paragon of corporate greed, Unstable’s Dragon is actively doing good for humanity while also making boatloads of money. The biotech firm’s founder and CEO, the improbably but impressively named Ellis Dragon (Rob Lowe), is no greedy stuffed suit but a charismatic genius entrepreneur who actually lives up to the sort of hype once lavished upon the likes of Elon Musk and Elizabeth Holmes. If Better Off Ted felt prescient in its cynicism toward business, Unstable’s sunny outlook can’t help but feel a little out of touch with the current disillusionment toward Big Tech and billionaires.

He then added for clarification, “But only when I play with my wife.”
Also in the interview, Douglas was asked about a comment he recently made that he channels his characters through his hair.

Paul McCartney loves writing optimistic songs, but he loves it even more when he can write a song that makes him hopeful, not just fans. Here are five songs that made Paul optimistic.

In The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present, Paul wrote that his song “Great Day” made him feel optimistic following The Beatles’ split. After the group’s split, Paul would often sit around in a rut. It was a dark time for him. However, he found the track’s chords while sitting in his kitchen with his children.
“I liked the idea of a song saying that help is coming and there’s a bright light on the horizon,” Paul wrote. “I’ve got absolutely no evidence for this, but I like to believe it. It helps to lift my spirits, to move me forward, and hopefully it might help other people move forward too.

"Let me tell you a little story about acting." These are words that Carl Weathers, playing a fictionalized version of himself, once spoke as a drama coach on the sitcom "Arrested Development." Yet they could also apply to Weathers and his acting career long before "Arrested Development," the Disney+ series "The Mandalorian," or even the sci-fi action movie "Predator."
When he auditioned for the role of Apollo Creed, the heavyweight boxing champion of the world, in the first "Rocky" film, Weathers was a virtual unknown in the acting world. He already had a pro football career behind him, having played as an NFL linebacker for the Oakland Raiders before he went back to school and earned a drama degree. However, his acting résumé was limited to television and "some movies out of Aip which was then doing quote-unquote 'Blacksploitation,'" as he once put it on The Rich Eisen Show.

We "Make it so" one last time this week with the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard, which Trek newbie Kay takes to like a Ferengi to money laundering. Plus we dabble in a little jury duty with The Twelve on Itvx and some policing with villaining on the side in Better on BBC1.
All that and we not only find time to sort out the seating arrangements at one of our listeners' weddings but manage to sift through the Trillions of spinoffs (see what we did there) announced this week as well.
Listen to the episode in the player above, or on your podcast app of choice. And if you want to subscribe to Pilot TV+, find all the details here.

Until recently, Leila Farzad was asked to read, repeatedly, for the same kind of role. “There were a lot of terrorist wives that I was put up for, and that was how I saw myself represented a lot,” the actor says dryly. “You know, a wife begging someone to not blow something up.” Having grown up in London, Farzad “didn’t think of myself as necessarily needing to be cast as a Middle Eastern person – I was just a girl from London”, but it happened so often that it became a running joke among her friends – “look Leila, it’s your part”. That is, until a job came along that changed everything. Farzad landed the part of Naomi in Billie Piper and Lucy Prebble’s I Hate Suzie, as the straight-talking agent to child-star-turned-shamed-celeb Suzie Pickles.
The role landed her a Bafta nomination and proved, at 37, to be Farzad’s big break.
