In the first scene, Jessie arrives and brings Amy's kids into her house. It's supposed to be December 18, 2017 and he tells her "The Bulls won." However, through the windows we see its still bright and sunny (despite it being one of the days of the year with the smallest amount of daylight), which would establish the time as close to noon. The prototypical example of what happens when female characters are written and directed by clueless men. With six supremely talented female actors leading this movie, it nevertheless ends up being a shallow and even embarrassing caricature of females in general and mother-and-daughter relationships in particular. Too many of the setups and resolutions between the women in this movie undermine everything female actors have been begging for in the way of good film roles for women. I was just depressed after enduring this unfunny holiday tale. And I'm a male. So there.
