Cunk on Earth is a BBC series directed by Christian Watt in which Philomena Cunk (played by Diane Morgan) asks questions which are sometimes uncomfortable, other times surrealistic and sometimes intelligent about inventions of Humanity and, how, centuries later, we have ended up the way we are today.
The screenplay has been written by Charlie Brooker among others, whom you are all familiar with (the guy from Black Mirror).
This is an interesting series that follows other batches of Cunk, which are a series that is a mix between educational series and entertainment that are ironic and atractive, above all, thanks to the presence of Diane Morgan who is just great with her British style that knows how to deliver this… irony.
If you are interested in civilization and spending a good and intelligent time in the company of this woman who has so many questions for the experts… here you have Cunk on Earth,...

Actor, writer and director Diane Morgan was in her teens when she first tried her hand at improv, an experience which first gave the “very shy, very quiet” 15-year-old a chance to step out of her shell and play a different character.
“I think my whole world opened up, basically,” says Morgan of that moment, ahead of receiving Variety and the Edinburgh TV Festival’s 2022 Outstanding Achievement Award. “I’d always been completely invisible and then, suddenly, I was the funny one.”
So it was unsurprising when Morgan decided she would try to pursue it professionally, even if it wasn’t the most obvious choice for a girl from Bolton. “I always thought I’d make a career out of it, even though everyone was telling me I wouldn’t make a career out of it and that it was insane,” she recalls. “Because I was from Bolton, and, you know,...

Take Me Out and Phoenix Nights star Paddy McGuinness is to front a quirky BBC One gameshow from the producers of The Weakest Link and 5 Gold Rings.
Catchpoint is a physical gameshow, which will air on Saturday evening, where contestants must get their hands on answers using their brains and balls. They must answer a series of questions before needing to catch balls of various sizes, which will be dropped from the studio ceiling.
The Wipeout-meets-Millionaire-style quiz is produced by ITV-owned indie Possessed, which is run by former Deal or No Deal banker Glenn Hugill, and Andy Culpin-run 12 Yard. The six-part series is exec produced by Culpin and Hugill and was commissioned by Kalpna Knight-Patel.
ITV Studios Global Entertainment will rep the format and will likely start talking to international broadcasters soon.

Everyday life may be full of funny moments, but it’s fair to say that most of them aren’t found during the commute to work; traffic jams, roadworks and incompetent drivers raise stress levels like little else. The prospect of watching two people make small talk in a confined space as inane radio jingles play gooseberry in the background doesn’t sound like a promising start for a comedy series. Yet somehow, Peter Kay's Car Share won a huge audience for its first series on BBC One back in 2015. After a dramatic ending to its second run this week, fans were desperate to learn what would become of star-crossed couple John and Kayleigh’s burgeoning romance, only to have those hopes dashed when star, co-writer...

Mount Pleasant has quietly gone about its business since launching on Sky1 in 2011, and it returns on the channel for a fifth series tonight (September 11) after three years on Sky Living.
Neil Fitzmaurice - perhaps best known for the dastardly Jeff in Peep Show and his Phoenix Nights work with Peter Kay - is also back as office manager Fergus, and he told Digital Spy that he is impressed by its continued popularity.
"Like anything on TV, it's a business, and if you put a show on and it does okay and sort of trundles along, maybe you'll get two series out of it," he said. "The special thing about Mount Pleasant is that it just steadily got bigger and bigger every year. That's not something that happens all the time.

Foster, who played Les Campbell from the Phoenix Club backing band Les Alanos in the early '00s Channel 4 sitcom, revealed that he had been inundated with messages since Kay revealed that "big news" was coming very soon about the show.
The BBC radio presenter and comic said that he had spoken to Kay recently and he hadn't mentioned anything about the show. He also retweeted a comment from a follower, who suggested that if the show was coming back, he wasn't involved.
Bloody Hell. Loads of messages. Hand on heart, I have not heard a whisper about a new series of Pn. And I spoke to Peter last week.

Peter Kay is expected to announce the return of his classic TV sitcom Phoenix Nights very soon.
The comedian confirmed at a charity event at the weekend that fans of the comedy could look forward to an announcement about the show within the next 10 days.
It is rumoured that Kay is planning a stage show and third series for 2015.
"I am going to be making a big announcement about Phoenix Nights sometime in the next 10 days, so fans need to be watching out for that," Kay told the audience at Blackpool Opera House during a fundraiser for Salford Women's Aid Charity.
Phoenix Nights ran for two series between 2000 and 2001. Its spin-off Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere had one series on Channel 4 in 2004.
The Bolton stand-up has previously spoken about his plans for a third series, claiming that he had always been jotting down ideas for more episodes.

Paddy McGuinness has revealed that there are new episodes of Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere written, but has confessed that they may never reach the screen.
McGuinness, who wrote and starred in the Phoenix Nights spin-off with Peter Kay, told The Mirror that it was unlikely to ever get made because whenever he meets up with Kay, they don't speak about work.
"We've got a couple of one-hour specials for Max and Paddy which are still sat at home," said the Take Me Out host.
He also downplayed suggestions that Phoenix Nights could return soon, commenting: "That's the first I've heard of it. I might not be in it. I don't think that's going to happen somehow, I don't know anything about it."
McGuinness added: "When me and Peter are together we have a laugh, we don't really speak about work. We speak about more important things like Celebrity Big Brother...

The Inbetweeners: The Movie sees Will, Simon, Neil and Jay transported, in all their puerile glory, to Crete. But do the writers and cast realise this is the end?
The feature film-of-the-sitcom is one of the less heralded genres in cinema.
