One of HBO’s former hot properties returns in a big way this January, as True Detective season four finally arrives on the service. Will this be a return to form for the gritty show? Well, that remains unclear, but this time around the anthology series will follow detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) as the long winter darkness in Alaska. When eight people at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace, these detectives need to get on the case quickly.
Also hitting Max this month is the final season of Sort Of. Season three finds Sabi (Bilal Baig) dealing with the unexpected death of their father, and making some big life choices as a result.

David Choe, the star of Netflix’s new hit series “Beef,” is an artist and an actor. But his performance in the series isn’t what has people talking — it’s an admission he made back in 2014 detailing how he sexually assaulted a masseuse, which he later said he made up and called “bad storytelling.” Critics have labeled him a rapist and have called for a boycott of the show.
Here’s everything to know about David Choe.
Who is David Choe?
Born in Los Angeles on April 21, 1976, Choe spent most of his upbringing raised by his Korean immigrant parents in the Koreatown neighborhood. During his teens, he became a spray paint artist, which ultimately led to his full-scale career as a painter, mural artist and art creative. After a short stint attending California College of the Arts and Crafts in Oakland, he went on to self-publish a graphic novel called “Slow Jams,...

If there is one film this season that seems to be increasingly relevant by the day it is Netflix’s The Trial of the Chicago 7, and that became abundantly clear after a conversation with writer-director Aaron Sorkin and some of his superb ensemble cast at Deadline’s Contenders Film awards-season event.
The astounding thing is the events of the film took place over a half century ago but couldn’t feel more relevant. It is about a group of protesters accused of crossing state lines to cause a riot at the 1968 Chicago Democratic National Convention, and the subsequent trial in which they are tried as insurgents and instigators. Sound familiar? History is clearly repeating itself –the recent invasion of the U.S. Capitol by right-wing extremists and Donald Trump supporters is just the most recent evidence of that — but it is uncanny how urgently prescient this movie is, a...

The exciting conclusion to a two-part Agents of Shield adventure has us celebrating with the team while wondering what mysteries remain.

Agents of Shield Season 6 Episode 9
What a cathartic episode of Agents of Shield this was! Because “Collision Course” was a two parter, there definitely was the expectation the conclusion would at least bring the team back together, but the illusion of an actual solution to the overall problem is what really makes this episode shine. Daisy shatters the shrike, but are the creatures gone? Jaco blows up Izel’s ship, but is she dead? May shoots Sarge in the face, but is that really going to end his mystery? Even though we know we’re being lulled into a false sense of security, we bask in the comfort of the celebration at the end of this episode.

Even though Felicity and Curtis are on opposite sides of the team split on Arrow, the two have still been working on their start-up together, but that has to change after "Collision Course" -- and Felicity should be the one to state that their business partnership is over.
They'd had some issues even when they were still on the same team, but while they got past those, what Curtis did crossed the line, as he deliberately caused Diggle pain using the very chip he designed to help him. But while Curtis may have declared Nta "done with" Ota "forever," meaning "no more communication," it wasn't clear what that meant for his and Felicity's business partnership. It can be assumed he meant that was done as well, but we need to see Felicity be the one to declare that on-screen -- and make it clear that it's not because of anything she did.

Let’s get this out of the way really quickly: “Collision Course” is the worst episode of Arrow Season 6 so far. By a long shot. It’s an hour of television that seeks to create drama by any means necessary, and that’s it. Consistent characterization? Forget it. Compelling storytelling? No thanks. Intriguing plot? Not this time around. Instead, all we receive is cheap, misguided, and manufactured drama, and the show’s characters and actors deserve better than that. And this isn’t an Original Team Arrow versus the Newbies thing. It’s not about preference. I’ll be fully transparent here: Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity have

Team Arrow and Team Canary go nuclear with each other all because of Black Siren.
But it comes with a significant cost or two which makes the conflict even worse between the two teams.
I have seen a lot of drama on Arrow throughout its many seasons. Arrow Season 6 Episode 14 officially joins that list because things got way too insane!
This storyline is one hell of a mixed bag to watch as Arrow Season 6 progresses. I think I was more open to the idea of having two teams at the start when Dinah wasn't insanely hostile.
But now I'm over it because it is coming at a lot of expense that is not worth it. While I haven't lost my love for Dinah, I'm disappointed with what has been done to her.
Seeing her running around yelling over and over again how she wants to kill Laurel is ridiculous. Even...

What I’m going to say here may be a bit controversial, but hear me out:
As ridiculous (and monotonous) as the plot machinations were that led to the back half of this week’s Arrow episode, I was kinda glued to the screen from the moment that Thea found Quentin at the cabin, on.
Don’t get me wrong, I was yelling at the TV a bit when the war of words inside the Nta bunker escalated into gas grenades exploding and arrows being jutted at throats. But that absurd sequence of events did what it needed to do...

In the previous episode, Arrow flipped the script for season 6 by not only killing off Cayden James but revealing him to be very far from season 6's Big Bad. The episode entitled, "Collision Course" doesn't completely ignore all those revelations but it does pivot direction. Rather than do anything with Ricardo Diaz, the true manipulator of the season, this is all about Black Siren. Arrow uses Black Siren, and everything that has surrounded her, to build the best conflict between New and Original Team Arrow yet. Well, for the most part anyway.

When push comes to shove, will Arrow‘s Oliver be able to appropriately deal with his ex-love’s evil doppelgänger? In this exclusive sneak peek from this week’s episode, Dinah thinks not. Nope, no way.
In “Collision Course” (airing tonight at 9/8c on The CW), it is once again Ota versus Nta, as Oliver (played by Stephen Amell), Diggle and Felicity disagree with Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), Curtis and Rene on how to handle Black Siren (Katie Cassidy).

Roy Harper’s on his way back to Star City and now, we have some photos to prove it!
Yes folks, the fan favorite character will be making his return to Arrow on March 8th in an episode titled “Doppelgänger,” and after being teased with a brief synopsis outlining what to expect, we now have a good look at the installment thanks to the meaty gallery down below.
As you can see, Roy will be having a little reunion with Thea but it appears that it’ll be under painful circumstances, as he doesn’t seem to be in very good shape. There’s also an interesting shot of Laurel in a hospital bed with Quentin standing nearby, Diggle looking totally badass, Oliver brooding like only he can and much more.

In the illustrious history of Arrow, it could be argued that the most popular hero to fight alongside Oliver Queen was that of Roy Harper, played by fan favorite actor Colton Haynes. Originally introduced in the back half of season 1, we saw this young man organically develop and eventually blossom into the vigilante known as Arsenal, with one badass costume to boot.
But, as fate would have it, Haynes was contracted for but a few seasons, and an exit was plotted for him late in season 3. As you may recall, Roy publicly took the fall for Oliver by saying that he was the original Arrow before faking his own death. In the time since, we’ve seen him come back for a guest shot, but he’s remained in the hearts and minds of Arrowverse junkies everywhere. That’s why we were so happy to learn the other month that...

If you tuned in for last night’s episode of Arrow, “The Devil’s Greatest Trick,” then you’re well aware of how it boasted all the excitement and intensity of a season finale. Effectively bringing Cayden James’ arc to an unexpected close, we learned his tragic backstory before it was revealed that Ricardo Diaz had, in fact, arranged his son’s murder. Not only that, but “The Dragon” murdered James, seemingly emerging as this season’s true big bad!
Now, for some good news and some bad news.
I guess we should start with the bad news because the show is going on hiatus for a few weeks, but the good news is that we have a general idea of what to expect upon the series’ return. You see, the latest promo and synopsis for “Collision Course” let us know that before Team Arrow can reunite as one and...

Ever since the Arrow midseason premiere aired, we’ve seen Cayden James putting his grand plan into action, effectively taking control of Star City’s technology and holding it hostage. From what we can tell, all hell may very well break loose in this week’s episode, “The Devil’s Greatest Trick.” But before we get there, we actually have a decent amount of images from the following installment to look over.
Now, before you flee in fear of major spoilers, know that not much is given away here, but we do see series stalwarts featured exclusively, those being Oliver and Thea Queen, John Diggle, Felicity Smoak and Quentin Lance. If we were to wager a guess, the original Team Arrow probably have a solid reason for grouping together in some remote cabin in “Collision Course,” perhaps after some pivotal event to occur in “The Devil’s Greatest Trick.” And,...

To be perfectly honest I’ve never really been a fan of Jay Leno. Actually let me take that back. I happened to like that 80s movie Collision Course he did with Pat Morita but that’s probably about it. He’s definitely a bright guy, comes up with legitimate humor but I just never liked him on The Tonight Show. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have enormous respect for the guy. The biggest thing I respect about him? His financial know-how. For those of you who didn’t know this, Leno never spent one penny of his Tonight Show earnings, which peaked

Also, while the team may be worried about Reid, they do have to travel to Philadelphia to work a case involving an UnSub throwing acid in his victims' faces. And just like in "Collision Course," this case shows painful ramifications of rejection.

What happens in Mexico does not stay in Mexico. It's not like Las Vegas. Criminal Minds' "Collision Course" shows that Reid's troubles are far from over, and whether or not he's taking a plea deal is just the beginning.
Oh, and there's also a case for the Bau to solve involving hacked cars and the UnSub making both the drivers of those vehicles and the pedestrians they hit his victims. But with Reid's future hanging in the balance, it's pretty hard to care what's going on there.

The grosses from two new $20-million-plus openers – “The Magnificent Seven” (Sony) and “Storks” (Warner Bros.) – delivering $35 million and just under $22 million respectively, might appear to be strong numbers. It’s the first time we’ve seen this level of gross since the second August weekend. And if the movies hold well and get strong international results, both could nudge into positive territory.
But a closer look is less upbeat, due to the total gross count as well as the disappointing showing of “Storks.” While remake “The Magnificent Seven” hit its marks, they are also less impressive on close examination.

Justin Lin’s “Star Trek Beyond,” the third installment in the J.J. Abrams “Star Trek” series, boosted the summer of 2106 back into positive territory.
That doesn’t make “Beyond” a big moneymaker for Paramount. It falls into the middle ground of big-budget films of late. It’s not a domestic bomb like “Warcraft” or “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” nor is it a too-expensive minor dud like “Ghostbusters” and “The Legend of Tarzan.”
“Beyond” likely will end up, like earlier summer recoupers “X-Men: Apocalypse” and “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” in profit. Yet the returns on these franchise tentpoles compared to cost pales versus the massive numbers seen for a slew of animated hits and far less costly real blockbusters “Deadpool” and “The Jungle Book.”
“Star Trek Beyond” came in 16% ($11 million) lower than its preceding franchise entry. That’s an improvement over “X-Men: Apocalypse,” which fell 26% from its last edition.

Ice Age: Collision Course Could Have Been Meatier But Instead It Crashes HardIt’s time to put this animated series on the extinct species list.
Five movies in, the Ice Age franchise has clearly run out of ideas. The latest installment, Ice Age: Collision Course, actually recycles a whole sequence formerly released as a separate short film titled Cosmic Scrat-tastrophe, which played ahead of last fall’s The Peanuts Movie. That same sequence was then reused as a teaser trailer for the new Ice Age sequel back in December.
Now, following some Cosmos-parodying voiceover from Neil deGrasse Tyson, the outer-space-set sequence opens the new feature, and the rehashing is a terrible way to start off. For adult fans of the animated series, anyway. Small children will likely appreciate the familiar beginning, just as they appreciate watching the other four Ice Age movies over and over and over.
Once again, because...

Thursday previews worked really well for "Star Trek: Beyond" to kick off its premiere weekend. The film has pulled in $5.5 million at preview locations at more than 3,000 theaters Thursday night. That easily topped its new release competition, according to Variety. "Lights Out" from New Line Cinema earned $1.8 million on Thursday, while "Ice Age: Collision Course" grabbed just $850,000."Beyond" earned a little more than $1,774 per theater in limited showings, compared to just $300 per theater for "Collision Course."That could affect Friday's numbers a little bit, although many box office trackers combine Thursday and Friday numbers.Paramount Pictures were happy with the numbers, saying it topped last November's Thursday preview of the James Bond film "Spectre." And that's worth noting, because ...
