Interview: Co-Star Alix Angelis Discusses Taking on Her Challenging Role in The Cleansing Hour
Currently streaming on Shudder, The Cleansing Hour is centered around an online exorcist (Ryan Guzman) who gets more than he bargained for when he comes face to face with a real demon during one of his sham exorcism shows. Caught in the middle is Lane (played by Alix Angelis), an aspiring actress who ends up being an unwilling host to the malevolent force, and the clock is ticking to save her soul and banish the demonic force from her body forever before it’s too late.

Daily Dead recently had the opportunity to speak with Angelis about her experiences working on The Cleansing Hour, and she discussed collaborating with the film’ director, Damien LeVeck, as well as the physical challenges that came with taking on the role of a woman possessed by pure evil. Horror Anthology Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales to Attend Horror Rant

Argentinian director Nicolas Onetti (What the Waters Left Behind) has brought several directors together, for Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales. This is film anthology, consisting of several short films. Some of the filmmakers participating in the anthology include: Alejandro Damiani (Don´t Breathe), Damien LeVeck (The Cleansing Hour), Kheireddine El-Helou (Drudge), Mat Johns, Albert Pinto, Caye Casas and Andrew Desmond. Fantastic Fest Announces First Wave of 2019 Lineup, Including ‘Jojo Rabbit’ and Takashi Miike’s ‘First Love’

Now in its fifteenth year, the Alamo Drafthouse-created Fantastic Fest is showing no signs of relinquishing its title as America’s premiere genre film festival. The first wave of its 2019 lineup includes premieres from around the world, restorations of classic horror flicks, and an eclectic assortment of documentaries.

Taika Waititi’s “Jojo Rabbit” will open the festival, marking the film’s American premiere with an appearance from the filmmaker. Legendary director Takashi Miike will also be in attendance, promoting his Cannes favorite “First Love.” Other highlights include Stephen King adaptation “In the Tall Grass” and the Elijah Wood-led “Come to Daddy.”
