Quentin Tarantino’s Reaction to a Female Fan Asking His Autograph on Her Feet is Actually Very Sweet
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in Quentin Tarantino’s case, it seems a foot might be worth even more. The director’s alleged love for feet is no secret—it’s like a cherry on top of his already flamboyant directorial style. From the iconic ‘wiggle your big toe’ moment in Kill Bill to those foot massages in Pulp Fiction, the director, 61, has turned foot shots into a cinematic trademark.

And if you Google ‘Quentin Tarantino foot fetish’, you’ll be treated to a buffet of theories, articles, and enough foot-related banter to make even the most ardent shoe collector a little envious. Now, if you think this fascination is just smoke and mirrors, think again. We have evidence that’s both hilarious and heartwarming. Previous, July 26: James Gunn beamed in from the Superman set Friday at Comic-Con to show off the new teaser for Max’s animated series Creature Commandos, which he wrote all seven episodes on. Premiere date is December.
In the footage, which you can see above, Viola Davis reprises her role as Amanda Waller. She walks Captain Flag down to inner prison areas where we’re introduced to a bunch that’s crazier than the Suicide Squad: Weasel, The Bride, G.I. Robot, Dr. Phosphorus, Frankenstein and Nina Mazursky.

The Bride, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, is now rumoured to be a musical, with a report of ‘big dance numbers’ in the film.
We’re all looking forward to The Bride, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s upcoming reimagining of The Bride Of Frankenstein. There’s plenty to look forward to here, including a talented director, a stacked cast and a classic monster tale. Now, it seems like we might be getting even more bang for our buck with the revelation that the film will contain some ‘big dance numbers’.
Naturally, that’s leading to speculation that we might just have another big budget musical on the way from Warner Bros.
The other musical is of course Joker: Folie a Deux which arrives in cinemas next month. That’s a piece of big-budget, intellectual property-driven cinema that is set to contain lots of singing and dancing. Warner Bros has also backed Gyllenhaal’s...

A hot sales title and potential Oscar contender is generating buzz on the festival circuit: Tim Fehlbaum’s tension-filled drama, “September 5.” If any studio feels like adding another worthy awards hopeful to its slate, this film could go far under the right guidance.
The film, which has received outstanding reviews at both Venice and Telluride, could make a significant impact given its timely and compelling story. Set on Sept. 5, 1972, it portrays the international hostage crisis involving the Israeli Olympic team, as it unfolded live on global television. However, the story is told from the perspective of the broadcasters. The period drama features a talented ensemble cast, including John Magaro, Peter Sarsgaard, Ben Chaplin and Leonie Benesch.
“September 5” is a taut, suspenseful thriller, and even if you’ve seen (and hopefully admired) Steven Spielberg’s “Munich” (2005), this retelling more than warrants its perspective, reminiscent of previous Oscar winners like “Spotlight” and “All the President’s Men.

Exclusive: “They’re all gone.” Those were the harrowing, unforgettable words, delivered by ABC TV’s Wide World of Sports host Jim McKay that 11 Israeli athletes had been slaughtered by Black September terrorists at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
McKay’s marathon 16-hour stint anchoring the shattering incident has long been held as a milestone in broadcast history. It was the first breaking news story to be beamed live globally in an unfettered way. Cameras had lenses trained on the balcony of the apartment where the Palestinian gunmen were holding the Israeli sportsmen hostage.
The cruel irony was that the Black September guerrillas were inside watching ABC’s coverage of their heinous act.
Also the families of the Israeli athletes and coaches and trainers being held at gunpoint were watching.

Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao will next tackle an adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s bestselling novel “Hamnet” for Focus Features, and the project has a robust team in place. Oscar nominees Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal will star in the adaptation alongside Emily Watson and Joe Alwyn, while Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes will produce alongside Liza Marshall and Pippa Harris.
The book is a fictional take on the grief over the death of William Shakespeare’s son Hamnet at the age of 11. Zhao co-wrote the screenplay with O’Farrell.
This marks Zhao’s next film after her one-two punch of 2020’s “Nomadland,” for which she won Best Picture and Best Director Oscars, and 2021’s Marvel movie “Eternals.”
Mescal has “Gladiator II” coming this fall for director Ridley Scott while Buckley, who received an Oscar nomination for her turn in 2021’s “The Lost Daughter,” next stars in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “Frankenstein” twist “The Bride.

Warner Bros is spending an apparent $140m on Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film, according to a fresh report. More here.
For some time now, Warner Bros has been on an auteur recruitment drive, seeking to attract critically-admired filmmakers to its banner. The studio boss, David Zaslav, may be an arch-deleter of completed films and the architect behind the gutting of classic movie channel TCM, but he does seem to have a thing for working with visionary talent and seems willing to pay for it too.
In the past year, Warner Bros has green-lit films from ‘serious’ filmmakers and thrown some serious financial heft behind them too: Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride is said to be costing $100m whilst Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17 has been priced at $150m, an expensive price tag for a film releasing in the notoriously quiet month of January (although that wasn’t its original...

Peter Sarsgaard is more than presumably done with “Presumed Innocent.”
The Apple TV+ series, which also starred Sarsgaard’s frequent collaborator and brother-in-law Jake Gyllenhaal, was renewed for a second season in July 2024. While Gyllenhaal will return as an executive producer along with David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams, there is no casting news yet. It is likely the limited legal-thriller series will be reimagined as an anthology series: Apple’s announcement teased only that Season 2 will “unfold around a suspenseful, brand new case.”
Either way, it will be without Sarsgaard as prosecutor Tommy Molto. The actor told IndieWire that he will not be appearing in “Presumed Innocent” Season 2, and instead opts to never revisit any of his past roles.
“I’m not really that interested in sequels. I think I’ve only ever done one season of anything… I think I’m a one-season person,” Sarsgaard said while promoting his upcoming indie film “Coup!.

Few brand names loom larger over horror movie history than Hammer Films.
Founded in 1934 by William Hinds (better known by his stage name Will Hammer), the British production company became synonymous with cheap but lovingly made Gothic horror films throughout the 1950s and ’60s, many of which were inspired by classic characters like Dracula and Frankenstein. Hammer Horror films were frugal endeavors that often reused the same sets and costumes across unrelated series, a fact that only made its cult fanbase more passionate by rewarding those who paid close enough attention to recognize the overlap. While many were simple B-movies, their impressive practical effects, Technicolor visuals, and sincere love for their source material allowed Hammer Horror to carve out a niche never truly filled again after the company stopped making movies in the late 1970s.

Paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) are suiting up to investigate what could be their final case. Warner Bros. has set a September 5, 2025 release date for The Conjuring 4, which is said to be the final installment of the main series.
The untitled Conjuring movie is set to be directed by Michael Chaves, who is no stranger to the franchise. He helmed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, as well as The Nun II. Chaves also directed The Curse of La Llorona, which is often mistakenly included in the franchise. While the film has several notable connections to The Conjuring Universe (including an Annabelle easter egg and Tony Amendola reprising his role as Father Perez), Chaves confirmed last year that it’s not part of the franchise.
“There’s so much debate about it and I think I’ve played coy in the past,” Chaves said.

Peter Sarsgaard is serving up sabotage in a 20th century satire.
The actor leads the film “Coup!,” which debuted at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival. Sarsgaard stars as a sinister private cook who is hired by a journalist (Billy Magnussen) to live with him on an island amid the Spanish Flu epidemic.
The official synopsis reads: Isolated on a seaside estate during the 1918 Spanish Flu, an entitled journalist (Magnussen) and his socialite wife (Sarah Gadon) take in a mysterious grifter as a private cook (Sarsgaard). When the plague descends on the island, the wily cook rouses his fellow staff to rebel and take over the mansion. Their wealthy employer suspects the cook’s coup is part of a more sinister agenda, and mind games between master and servant escalate into boisterous class warfare.

I came out in the early 2000s and, like a lot of queer teens, went on the hunt for any Lgbtqia+ media I could find. During my search, I discovered two spaces where I felt comfortable about my identity — the fanfiction community and the anime/manga community. Coincidentally, I met the girl I’d end up marrying through fanfiction , and she went on to introduce me to series like Gravitation while, at the same time, stores like Waldenbooks slowly began to carry Bl (boys' love). Moments like this helped me see that all kinds of queer content existed in media, especially when it came to manga. That’s only increased over the years, much to my wallet’s dismay, but it’s been nice to see the growth of Lgbtqia+ content in the medium and the wide variety of options we have now. Netflix keeps bringing joy to its viewers by adding more old or new flicks and shows every week, but the streaming is also pretty much able to shatter some hearts when it decides to remove other famous movies from its endless collection.
Something similar may in fact happen to Quentin Tarantino fans who now have just a couple of days left to rewatch the proclaimed director’s two legendary movies that won’t be available on Netflix when July comes.
Though this is what only Quentin Tarantino himself prefers to stick to, the director’s two-part action thriller Kill Bill will no longer stay with Netflix viewers, meaning that both movies will be removed from the streaming on July 1.
Released back in 2003 and 2004 respectively, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 follow a former assassin referred to as just The Bride, in both movies portrayed by Uma Thurman,...

Warner Bros. gave the CineEurope trade show a healthy assortment of big name exclusives in its presentation on Tuesday.
Arguably chief among them was the explosive new trailer for “Joker: Folie à Deux,” Todd Phillips’ sequel to his billion-dollar-topping 2019 smash hit, which the audience in Barcelona got the very first taste of in the build up to the film’s release in October. The first trailer — which debuted at CinemaCon in April — racked up 167 million views in its first 24 hours. Warner Bros. didn’t reveal when the new trailer would be released publicly.
Phillips was among a who’s who of major names the studio had called upon to record special messages for CineEurope. Other included Jack Black, speaking from the set of the “Minecraft” movie, James Gunn, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as they took a break from filming DC’s “Superman” reboot, Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway from the set of “Flowervale Street,...

Chloë Sevigny and Christian Bale may be a beloved onscreen duo from “American Psycho,” but the actress says she found it “challenging” to work alongside Bale.
Sevigny, who played the secretary to Bale’s surreal serial killer Patrick Bateman, told Vanity Fair that the ensemble cast on the 2000 feature all had different acting approaches.
“I feel like there was so much build-up around ‘American Psycho,'” Sevigny recalled. “Remember Leo [DiCaprio] was attached for a minute, and then he fell out for whatever reason? I didn’t know it was going to become what it did and have the legs that it has had.”
As for working with Bale, she added, “I was trying to respect his process, which I found challenging because I’m very gregarious and silly and goofy, unbeknownst to the general public. When people take themselves so seriously, I kind of shut down, even though I take...

Even though Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year, that doesn't mean the film franchise is getting special treatment from the platforms. Right now, one of the most popular and bloodiest of Tarantino's films is available for streaming on Netflix. But that is about to change.
So if you haven't seen Kill Bill yet, or if you're wondering how you can watch it today and what will happen after June 30th, here's everything you need to know.
What Kill Bill Is About?
Following Uma Thurman's deadly assassin, The Bride, the movie was originally planned as a single story, but later had to be split into two films because it was over four hours long. At the time, Tarantino didn't want to sacrifice any scenes, so Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 were released 6 months apart.

Maggie Gyllenhaal has added another cast member to her upcoming take on The Bride of Frankenstein, and it's someone she knows very well.
In a new piece on the Spider-Man: Far From Home and Roadhouse star, THR reports that Jake Gyllenhaal has joined the cast of The Bride!, but don't reveal any details on his character.
Gyllenhaal (Maggie) recently took to Instagram to share the first ever production stills from the film, giving us a glimpse of Christian Bale as Frankenstein's Monster, and Jessie Buckley as the misunderstood creature's titular Bride.
We first heard about this project back in 2022 when it was being developed for Netflix, but a follow-up report indicated that the film had been shelved shortly after the Hollywood strikes got underway, and was being shopped elsewhere. More recently, we'd learn that Warner Bros. had acquired The Bride!, which is now set for a theatrical release on October 3rd,...

Road House star Jake Gyllenhaal has reportedly joined Maggie Gyllenhaal’s remake of The Bride Of Frankenstein.
Here’s a fun addition to a production that we’re keenly following: Jake Gyllenhaal has reportedly found his way to London where he’s joined the cast of The Bride!, the upcoming reimagining of The Bride Of Frankenstein. The film is being directed by his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal and already boasts an exciting ensemble cast.
Along with Jake Gyllenhaal, the cast now comprises the considerable talents of Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Annette Bening, Penelope Cruz, and Peter Sarsgaard. Honestly, for all of its many flashy casting announcements, we don’t think that even Ria Johnson’s latest Knives Out film, Wake Up Dead Man, can compete with that.
The film is said to be a a reimagining of James Whale’s 1935 classic The Bride Of Frankenstein and will see ‘a lonely Frankenstein...

Gege Akutami has always been one to pay homage to their favorite pop culture moments through Jujutsu Kaisen. Whether it be about anime, manga, comic books, or even Hollywood movies. Here and there they drop little titbits about the things they like. References are made throughout the course of the manga.

These references are not just a way to show what Akutami’s interests are but also with respect to the many things that inspired them to create such an impactful series. Through minor scenes or direct callbacks, these references further enamor the tale being told. The first and second seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen took over the world in a way no one thought. In a similar manner, the third season has the possibility to do exactly that. Although, they have the opportunity to add a Quentin Tarantino sequence to the mix.

Exclusive: Actress Cara Santana (Daughter of the Bride) will make her directorial debut with The Shuffle, a documentary on the corruption of the addiction treatment industry, which she’s producing alongside Andrew Renzi’s North of Now.
Developed over the last two years, The Shuffle follows what she says is a $43B-a-year con that’s proliferated in the U.S. through the brokering and trafficking of vulnerable people in recovery by profiting off of their insurance. The film is said to go to the heart of why America has the largest drug epidemic in the Western world — the profit is in the treatment, not the cure.
“Sober for 20 years, I started noticing the disturbing trend of patient brokering in the rehabilitation industry which was ripe for insurance fraud, but what I uncovered was a massive $43B a year con,” Santana told Deadline. “After developing the story for over 2 years, I...

Uma Thurman has been to Cannes more times than she can remember, either to pledge support for the glamorous annual charity event amfAR or with films as diverse as the genteel Merchant-Ivory period film The Golden Bowl (2000) and Quentin Tarantino’s ultraviolent Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004), in which she reprised her badass role as The Bride. The film that propelled her to stardom, Pulp Fiction, won the Palme d’Or there, and Thurman hasn’t forgotten what it did for her. This year, she’s back with Paul Schrader’s Oh, Canada, the kind of smart, character-based indie on which she earned her spurs.
Deadline: How did you get involved with Oh, Canada?
Uma Thurman: Really, I just got the call through my agents to read a Paul Schrader script and meet with him. I’m so glad I did. I love Paul Schrader.

Quentin Tarantino does not view Kill Bill as two separate films. That should be acknowledged upfront as fair. After all, it is this detail which allows Tarantino the ability to claim Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood as his ninth instead of 10th film (thereby delaying any obligatory early retirements). And to be sure, Tarantino shot Kill Bill as one epic vision that was only encouraged to be broken up by, ahem, Harvey Weinstein while Tarantino was finishing up principal photography.
So while the story was released as Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2, they’re two sides of the same tale. Be that as it may, there’s no denying that they’re two incredibly different sides. Whether a creative choice made in post-production after realizing he had hours more of running time to play with, or because the filmmaker was already at his most indulgent...

Nobody was expecting it, but it’s true: two-time Oscar nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal – who earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance in the 2010 film Crazy Heart and a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination for writing her 2021 feature directorial debut The Lost Daughter – is writing and directing a film called The Bride!, a new take on the concept of the 1935 classic The Bride of Frankenstein (watch it Here). The Bride! is currently making its way through production and unveiling images that are intriguing, even if there are jarring elements to them. So we thought this was a good time to put together a list of Everything We Know About The Bride!
Studio And Release Date
The Bride! is not set up at Universal Pictures, so this isn’t an official remake of The Bride of Frankenstein, it’s a play on the same concepts found in Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein that inspired the 1935 film.

A new rumor from Wdwnt indicates that there is chatter that Disney is making more changes than simply adding a store to the Haunted Mansion. Currently, the attraction is closed for updates, which include new gardens and store. Now, there are rumors of more possible changes coming.
The rumors center around two changes: one involves Constance Hatchaway, aka “The Bride,” and one involves the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
The Bride
The first rumor is about Constance, the attic bride. According to Wdwnt, they hear that the attraction will get a new Bride and a “window behind her made of projections.”
It would fit in with the other elements in this scene, like the lenticular portraits that show her with her husbands before and after their heads were cut off.
The Hitchhiking Ghosts
The second rumor involves the famous Hitchhiking Ghosts, Gus, Phineas, and Ezra. According to their sources, the ghost effect at the end,...
