Part of what makes Stephen King’s It so unique – and so engrossing – is that the legendary auteur allows his Pennywise saga to unfold across two decidedly different eras: 1958 and 1985.
And though New Line toyed around with that timeline during the transition from book to screen – Andy Muschietti’s horror hit actually kicks off in 1988 – the 27-year time gap still applies, meaning It: Chapter Two will likely begin in the year 2015, by which point the Losers Club will be fully-grown adults.
It’s a flash forward that has raised a lot of questions in the casting department, and horror fans have been quietly rooting for Jessica Chastain to land the role of adult Bev. But what about those breakout stars that anchored Muschietti’s modern gem? Indeed, will they have a role in the upcoming sequel?

Saudia Arabia has officially lifted a ban on cinema that has been intact for the last 35 years. The move was expected after the country announced in October plans for the Future Investment Initiative, which included the building and opening of movie theaters across the country. Movie theaters have not been open in Saudi Arabia since 1982. The General Entertainment Authority has said it opens to create entertainment that “will be like 99% of what is going on in London and New York.”

A rare case in which the sequel lives up to original, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York once again saw Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, left behind on his family's vacation. Stranded in New York City and alone for the holidays, Kevin must again outwit Harry and Marv, the two bumbling burglars from the first film.
The first movie launched the career of star Culkin and featured a strong supporting cast of Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern and Catherine O'Hara — as well as a cameo by the future president, Donald Trump.

On his Twitter profile, fiercely independent filmmaker Don Hertzfeldt describes himself as a “director of things / 2x oscar loser.” He’s selling himself short on both counts. For starters, “things” is an endearingly modest way of describing some of the most essential short films of the last 20 years, animated or otherwise; from revered early work like “Rejected,” to the trio of vignettes that were ultimately stitched together into a feature-length omnibus called “It’s Such a Beautiful Day,” Hertzfeldt has created a singular universe of stick figures in crisis.
And then there’s the bit about being a two-time “oscar loser,” a distinction that Hertzfeldt earned when “World of Tomorrow” — his first digital project — was a 2015 Academy Award nominee for Best Animated Short Film. It may not have won its creator the chance to give a speech on global television, but it did win him a legion of new fans.

Warner Bros. is moving up Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 2 from December 13, 2019 to be released six weeks earlier on Nov. 1, 2019.
Patty Jenkins is returning to direct the sequel. The new date also puts Wonder Woman 2 seven weeks away from the release of Star Wars: Episode IX, which should pull in more box office sales. The new date is also a week before the opening of the 25th James Bond movie.
The first movie, Wonder Woman, opened with $103 million in North America on June 2-4, but has outperformed the other titles to become the 20th highest domestic grossing film of all time.
Even though the film won't be in theaters for 2 years, we will get to see Gadot as the powerful Amazon warrior in Justice League on November 17.

Gremlins had the advantage of being something new and exciting enough that you didn’t see it coming. Sure they’d been relegated to legend but the visuals usually given for such things are often taken by Hollywood and turned into something completely different by writers, directors, and artists that want their vision to be something that people have never seen before. This time they managed to at least wow the audience for a little bit, until they came out with a sequel. The first movie however has gone down as a legend simply because it was terrifying to think about those

Soon after Andy Muschetti’s horror reboot began raking in the box office cash – It‘s lifetime total is now simmering around $677 million (!) – and New Line and Warner Bros. issued the go-ahead for a sequel, it didn’t take long before the Internet dreamed up a wishlist of big-name stars for the adult Losers Club.

The question with a movie like “Jigsaw,” which was preceded by seven “Saw” movies and did not screen for press, isn’t “Is it good?” but rather “How bad is it?” The answer, dear reader, is “quite.” “Jigsaw” is quite bad.
Not that it matters much. The eighth installment in a horror franchise isn’t meant to be good; it’s meant to be gruesome. The Spierig Brothers’ contribution to the series is certainly that: One scene finds a team of medical examiners studiously examining a man with half his head blown off; another shows the results of a woman being injected with hydrochloric acid in all its gory detail. 13 years in, the filmmakers have all but given up pretending that such moments exist for any reason beyond their own sake.

Pennywise the Dancing Clown, also known as The Eater of Worlds, is arguably one of Stephen King’s crowning achievements.
Much like the Boggart of Harry Potter, King’s killer clown is able to lure its victims (children, mostly) by assuming the form of their biggest fears – be it a burning mass of human flesh or, in the case of Stanley, a warped oil painting running amok. That nightmare fuel formed the spine of New Line’s recent adaptation and even now, over a month after its initial release, It continues to perform quite well at the global box office, recently smashing through $600 million worldwide.
It’s no wonder New Line and Warner Bros. wasted little time before issuing the green light on It: Chapter Two. A September 2019 release date is already in place, and we understand both Andy and Barbara Muschietti are prepared to reprise their roles as director and producer,...

Bill Skarsgard brought Pennywise The Clown to life in the most terrifying way in the amazing recently feature film adaptation of Stephen King's It. He will be back to reprise his role in It: Chapter 2, and in a recent interview with IGN, he shares his thoughts on what he would like to see the film explore. In this case, he would like to see the sequel dive more into the dark and twisted mind of Pennywise The Clown, which would certainly be interesting! He starts out by saying:
"The first movie worked so well at what it is trying to do, I think, and ultimately that is the kids’ story, and you follow these kids and you sort of fall in love with these kids. And the second one will be the adult story. And I think the right way to do it is to make that movie actively different.

The world was first introduced to Ivana Baquero when she was just 11 years old, as the star of Guillermo del Toro’s dark fantasy fable, Pan’s Labyrinth. But now, the 23-year-old is all grown up, travelling the world and starring in Spike TV’s fantasy adventure series, The Shannara Chronicles.
“It's been 10 years, and for me, it's such a good opportunity to be able to be in a show like Shannara, which is such a big kind of American production,” Baquero told Et over the phone on Wednesday. “And growing up from Pan's Labyrinth and being in a show like this is very, very special for me.”
Before she went on to travel the world as an international star, Baquero grew up in Barcelona, where she began learning English at age three while attending The American School in Barcelona, and credits her bilingual skills for helping her pursue acting at a young age.

If you liked what you saw in the trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising that was released last week, there's a good chance that you'll get to see a lot more of that world in the future. According to director Steven S. While talking to Nerdist about the film, he was asked about expanding the franchise and possibly building a Pacific Rim universe much like Star Wars and Star Trek, he said:
“I’m certainly hoping so. I think you’ll definitely probably get more comics. The plan was always to use this movie as a launching pad. If enough people show up to this, we’ve already talked about the plot of the third movie,...

The humans of the new Pacific Rim movie are good and all but let's talk these mechs that they are piloting because let's face it, I like the Jaegers better than humans.
Everyone is building up excitement for the upcoming sequel to the Pacific Rim Pacific Rim Uprising. Which the official trailer was shown at Nycc 2017 and you can watch that here. We’re starting to get more detail about the characters Mako, Jake, and Lambert. Jake Pentacost apparently was a Jaeger pilot who left the program abandoning his copilot Major Nate Lambert who has some animosity against Jake for that. Jake has apparently in his time away been a bit of a criminal selling weapons on the black market. He never felt he was living up to his father Stacker Pentacost’s expectations and had jealousy towards his adopted sister Mako who has now become a trainer for the modern day Jaeger pilots.

In anticipation of Friday’s “Blade Runner 2049” release, IMDb had Denis Villeneuve provide director’s commentary for the film’s second trailer, which has racked up more than 9.5 million views since July. While making the reported $185 million sequel, he explained that one of his goals was to build sets and use man-made vehicles whenever possible, attempting to limit CGI to background flourishes “so you will feel the realism.”
Villeneuve also complimented cinematographer Roger Deakins on deftly creating artificial sun patterns, and discussed how the arcade games of his 80s, Quebec upbringing influenced the film’s graphic design. Citing personal origins and that of his predecessor, Ridley Scott, Villeneuve said, “The first movie was inspired by dark days in London, and my ‘Bladerunner’ is more inspired by bad days in Canada.”

Top 5 Reasons to See Kingsman: The Golden CircleTop 5 Reasons to See Kingsman: The Golden CircleJenny Bullough9/26/2017 10:01:00 Am
We have to admit, we were always going to see this long-awaited sequel. The first movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, took us completely by surprise on its release by making the spy genre fun to watch again. No wonder it was a hit with critics and audiences! To be clear, we also have a lot of love for the Bourne and Bond franchises and their grittier, more realistic style; but the Kingsman franchise is doing something different, giving us plenty of ridiculous action set pieces underscored with a huge amount of heart.
Fans of the first movie will be pleased to know that the sequel truly delivers, keeping all the elements that made Kingsman: The Secret Service a fun thrill ride, and adding enough new characters and twists to freshen things up.

Warner Bros. is developing a new feature film adaptation of the classic 1954 William Golding novel Lord of the Flies. Only this time there's a big change to the story... it will revolve around a group of young school girls instead of boys.
This was only of my favorite books that I read when I was growing up. It's one of those stories that I just connected with. Some of those boys in the story were freakin' vicious little assholes.
The movie will be written and directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel (Bee Season) and they will reportedly stay true to the story that the novel tells only all the children will be girls. The fact young girls are going to go through this crazy ordeal actually kind of makes it even more vicious.
If you’re not familiar with Lord of the Flies, here's the description of the novel:...

Killing Gunther Trailer The first movie trailer for Killing Gunther (2017) from Saban Films. A couple years back, Warner Bros. released the surprisingly strong Tom Cruise flick, Edge of Tomorrow. Unfortunately, the film had been plagued with a dull name and subpar marketing, and as such, most audience members didn’t go out to see the film in theaters. It wasn’t until after the word of mouth started to make its way among fans that they started to make their way out. While it did give the film a longer tail at the theaters, it didn’t help much in making the studio money.

Earlier today the new trailer for the feature film adaptation of Stephen King's It was released and I freakin' loved what I saw! This movie looks like it's going to be so good and so wonderfully scary. The whole adaptation is being planned for a two-part film and the second part would focus on the Losers Club as adults as they reunite to battle It again.
We have some new details today regarding the plan for the sequel... if it happens. At the time this interview was conducted with a group of press on the set of the film, there was no guarantee that a sequel would happen. If it doesn't happen, it would be a bloody shame. But the creative team really wants it to happen!

Warner Bros. kicked off their Comic-Con presentation with Steven Spielberg's upcoming adaptation of Ready Player One, giving us our first look at the film thanks to a stunning trailer. Come inside to check it out!
The first movie up during Warner Bros. big Sdcc presentation was Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One. The director himself, and the book's author, Ernie Cline, took the stage to talk about the adaptation and debut the first trailer for the film. It's a visual treat filled with as many pop culture call backs as you would hope/expect to see:
There's certainly a Lot to take in with this trailer, including some iconic imagery from all of your favorite movies. The book is filled with these references, but seeing them in action and interacting with one another feels entirely different and wholly amazing. What do you think of this first trailer?

Though Hollywood is famous around the world, the first large-scale movie studio was founded in Germany in 1912. It’s the Babelsberg Studio outside of Berlin. The first movie theater ever, was the Berlin Wintergarten Theatre. German films have contributed to the artistry and technical advancements of the industry since its beginning. The early years of German film were characterized by distinct periods related to German politics and the war years. Since the 1990s, German directors, producers, film composers and cinematographers have produced acclaimed films, though many are not well known internationally. The Berlin International Film Festival, the Berlinale, happens to

The Hellboy reboot that will star David Harbour from Stranger Things as the title character may have found a home.
Lionsgate is negotiations to pick up the project, which is titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Neil Marshall is tapped to direct.
An odd fact about Hellboy is that it's a franchise that has had each installment released by a different studio. The first movie was released by Sony in 2004. The sequel, Hellboy: The Golden Army, was made by Universal and released in 2008.
Hellboy is based on the comic books by Mike Mignola, and he will be involved with the development of the film.
Both movies were directed by Guillermo del Toro and starred Ron Perlman. Del Toro and Perlman tried to get a third movie out, but budget problems held it back and eventually the producers decided to reboot the franchise.

It may be the end of June, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays. Actually, that’s definitely not true, but it’s never too early to start thinking about having another wacky adventure with the bad moms from the movie Bad Moms. This trailer for A Bad Moms Christmas raises the stakes by introducing the bad moms’ own bad moms, with Christine Baranski, Susan Sarandon, and Cheryl Hines joining original stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn this time around. The first movie mostly centered around the bad moms announcing that they would no longer be putting up with anyone’s bullshit, but this one seems like it will use its Christmastime setting for a larger story about a mom’s right to be happy and whether or not books of homemade coupons are just as good as real presents. (They definitely are...

If a primer feels in order before hitting the multiplex, just read on and get up to speed before rolling out to the theater.
