Romero (who passed away in 2017) had left behind a treatment for the “seventh and final installment” in his Dead franchise – following Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead, and Survival of the Dead. The story Romero had come up with used a title than many fans expected him to use for his follow-up to Day, Twilight of the Dead, and the team of Joe Knetter, Robert Lucas, and Paolo Zelati, who also worked on the treatment with Romero, were working on fleshing it out into a screenplay. Last month, we heard that Twilight of the Dead had secured funding from Roundtable Entertainment. And now we know who’s going to direct the film: Session 9 director Brad Anderson!

Late “Night of the Living Dead” creator George A. Romero has one final film in the works.
Romero, who died in 2017 at age 77 after battling lung cancer, wrote a treatment for film “Twilight of the Dead” before passing away. Per Romero’s estate, the film is the “seventh and final installment” in the “Living Dead” franchise. The project was first revealed in 2021, but Deadline reported that newly relaunched Roundtable Entertainment is now moving forward with production and applying for a SAG-AFTRA waiver amid the strike for a slated late 2023 start date. The waiver would allow production to happen in spite of SAG-AFTRA work stoppage orders.
Romero’s widow Suzanne Romero, who will produce the film, said in a statement, “I’m delighted to be joining forces with Roundtable to bring the eerie evolution of Romero’s universe to the screen. Roundtable impressed me with their long-term and deep love of George’s work.

After the release of Day of the Dead in 1985, twenty years went by without George A. Romero being able to get another zombie movie into production, even though he was very open about the fact that he had an idea for another one. During that time, a lot of fans expected the next movie to be called Twilight of the Dead, following the progression of the titles Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. But when Romero did make a fourth zombie movie, he threw a titular curveball and called it Land of the Dead. That was followed by Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead. Now it looks like Twilight of the Dead is going to happen after all – and might even begin filming before the end of this year!

Exclusive: Not long after raising $28 million in additional funding through a Series D round, sports video and branded content player Whistle has signed with CAA.
The deal will give Whistle access to the agency’s resources across TV, motion pictures, digital media and sports. CAA has been building a major presence in sports for more than a decade, making Whistle a logical client.
While many sports stakeholders are compelled to spend billions for league rights, four-year-old Whistle attests to the breadth of sports appetites and how technology helps feed them. Its financial backers have included NBC Sports, Tegna and Sky Broadcasting. Catering to a young audience, the company creates, curates and distributes original sports video and branded content.

Jason Moring, Ddi president, has announced a deal to sell international rights to the feature "A Quiet Passion," which has added Jennifer Ehle ("Zero Dark Thirty," "Fifty Shades of Grey") to support Cynthia Nixon ("Stockholm, Pennsylvania," "Sex and the City"), the lead of the movie.
Ddi will be selling the picture during the 2015 Cannes Film Market in May. UTA with Indomitable Entertainment holds domestic sales rights.
"A Quiet Passion" is written and directed by award-winning and acclaimed director Terence Davies ("The House of Mirth," "The Deep Blue Sea"), starring Cynthia Nixon, Jennifer Ehle. Production kicks off May 4 in Belgium with Sol Papadopoulos and Roy Boulter producing for Hurricane Films and Potemkino co-producing. Executive producers include Jason Van Eman and Ben McConley from Weathervane Productions, Dominic Ianno ("Soul Surfer") and Stuart Pollok from Indomitable Entertainment, alongside Moring.

"A Quiet Passion" is the story of America's foremost poet Emily Dickinson (Nixon) from her early days as a young schoolgirl to her later years as a reclusive, unrecognized artist; she left the world a huge body of emotional and powerful literary work, sadly discovered only after she was gone.
"Terence has shared great success in many of the biggest festivals throughout his career, including Cannes, and we couldn't be more excited to announce his next project at the festival," says Moring.
Davie states, "Emily Dickinson was one of the world's greatest poets, she distilled the terror and beauty of the world down to the quintessence of meaning and expression - I feel privileged to tell her story."...
