The Walking Dead: season 8, episode 15 recap – Worth

The stage is now set for the climactic showdown between Negan and Rick after a bloody hour where Simon got his comeuppance and Dwight’s betrayal was revealed

Spoiler alert: this blog is published after The Walking Dead airs in the Us on AMC on Sundays. Do not read unless you have watched season eight, episode 15, which airs in the UK on Fox on Monday at 9pm

In setting the stage for the climactic showdown between Negan and Rick, Worth had a lot to get through. Simon’s mutiny happened, and then didn’t. Negan’s ethos of “live-and-let-live” towards the Hilltop was abandoned in favour of the cull Simon had always pushed for. Dwight’s turncoatery was exposed. Any possible redemption for Eugene’s supreme mullet was quashed. The Woodland Clan were finally, finally given a purpose. And Rick regained some semblance of morality, as Carl reminded him from

‘The Walking Dead’ episode 15 recap: Negan cleans house in ‘Worth’
In the penultimate episode of Season 8, “The Walking Dead” focused on their main villain. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is back at The Sanctuary with a few scores to settle, and his actions during this episode will having a lasting impact on The Saviors. Before we get to what promises to be a bloody and brutal season finale, let’s dive in to the game changing action in “Worth.”

Dear Dad – Rick (Andrew Lincoln) finally musters the strength to read Carl’s letter. In the note, Carl reminisces over the cherished memory of a childhood birthday party. Those memories of the world before the outbreak are the types of experiences he wanted Rick to bring back into the world. “You have to find peace” with The Saviors he says, “find a way forward somehow.” Given Rick’s recent violent streak, it’s hard to envision him returning the world to a

‘The Walking Dead’: Who do You think Negan found by the roadside? [Poll]
The Walking Dead” ended Sunday’s episode “Still Gotta Mean Something” with a cruel cliffhanger. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is on his way back to The Sanctuary to let his men know that he isn’t dead when something in the road makes him put on the brakes. He spots a familiar face and opens his door to give the figure a lift.

The camera doesn’t allow the viewer any glimpse of the strange subject. But given that Negan later tells the guard at The Sanctuary that he has some big surprises to roll out, it’s safe to assume that whoever hops in the passenger seat spills some major tea or proves an asset to his war effort. Based on the evidence, there’s only a few characters who could fill this mysterious role. Read through the most likely candidates below and let us know who you think

‘The Walking Dead’ death watch: 42% of fans think Simon is doomed, while 14% say Maggie [Poll Results]
We recently asked our readers which “The Walking Dead” character wouldn’t survive Season 8, and fans have responded loud and clear.

A whopping 42% of respondents believe that Steven Ogg’s Simon is about to meet his maker. A chief lieutenant to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Simon has benefited from increased screen time and character development in Season 8. But the focus on his character foretells doom in the eyes of Gold Derby readers. Simon recently led a coup against Negan, leaving the leader for dead and wresting control of The Saviors for himself. Simon survived the lethal battle at Hilltop Colony, but if Negan finds him before the season ends, he may not be so lucky.

‘The Walking Dead’ death watch: Which character won’t survive Season 8? [Poll]
Season 8 of “The Walking Dead” has been full of bloodshed. Shiva was devoured alive, Eric bled out and joined the undead, The Scavengers were massacred in a hail of bullets, and Carl (Chandler Riggs) took his own life after suffering from a zombie bite. And with just three episodes left in the season, the worst may be yet to come.

In the most recent episode, “Do Not Send Us Astray,” Tobin (Jason Douglas) fell victim to a Savior’s infected blade. His reanimated corpse wreaked havoc and death inside The Hilltop. But if this series’ history of including major deaths in last two episodes holds true, the grim reaper is still lurking behind one series mainstay. Let us know which “The Walking Dead” character you think is least likely to survive Season 8 in our poll below.

Skyscraper: Anna Nicole Smith's low-budget Die Hard clone

Ryan Lambie Feb 15, 2018

Long before The Rock's Skyscraper, there was Anna Nicole Smith's 1996 action-thriller, which owes a considerable debt to Die Hard...

A high-tech building beset by villains and machine gun fire. A hero dangling from a wire dozens of storeys off the ground. Hostages. Explosions. More machine gun fire. Those are some of the sights that await us in Skyscraper, the latest action-thriller opus from Dwayne Johnson - arguably the closest thing the 21st century has to a star of Arnold Schwarzenegger's stature.

Sure, comparisons with the 80s classic Die Hard are inevitable, but like most of Johnson's best films, including the latter Fast films, San Andreas and the surprise hit, Jumanji, there's the sense that Johnson's in on the joke. He clearly loves being an action star,

Review: ‘Proud Mary’ Undercuts Taraji P. Henson’s Talents

The first trailer for Proud Mary hit the internet in July of 2017. After that came a few badass 70s-style James Bond-like posters with star Taraji P. Henson in shadows, gun drawn. It was hard not to get excited for what appeared to be a stylized assassin flick in the vein of John Wick with a bona fide bankable black woman in the lead, Tina Turner’s emotional adaptation of John Fogarty’s anthem rocking in the background. But then the release date hit with a January bow. Critics were told it wouldn’t screen for them even in the big cities. And Thursday night shows were canceled despite ticket buyers arriving with excitement. It’s one thing to block out press, but a whole other to do so to the public.

The only fathomable excuse — because I don’t want to believe a studio put up the money for

'Proud Mary' Review: Taraji P. Henson Gunned Down By Her Own Action Flick
Taraji P. Henson is such a firecracker she almost makes you believe Proud Mary might have been a decent crime flick – if she fired the asses of the clueless dudes who wrote and directed it and took on those jobs herself. Surely, the Oscar-nominated actress (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), the one who lights up the screen in Hidden Figures and as Cookie Lyon on TV's Empire, could have just done an improvisation on this premise and come up with something livelier than this dipshit drivel. As the film's executive producer,

Film Review: Taraji P. Henson’s ‘Proud Mary’

Film Review: Taraji P. Henson’s ‘Proud Mary’
Proud Mary” is an assassin-with-a-heart-of-gold action thriller in which the sizzle doesn’t match the steak (or, in this case, the low-grade VOD-and-cable-ready B-movie hamburger). The sizzle is all about the blazing guns and badass attitude — about the film’s neo-blaxploitation credits and title allusion to the anarchic Ike and Tina Turner song, about its showy and efficient but ultimately rather routine action sequences, and about the doleful swagger of its star and executive producer, Taraji P. Henson, who knows how to shoot a bullet into somebody’s chest by adding that special touch of mean-it fierceness.

Beneath the ballistic flash, though, “Proud Mary” is a rather desultory sentimental fable about a veteran Boston killer, Mary (Henson), who takes a 13-year-old street urchin, Danny (Jahi Di’Allo Winston), under her tattered wing. She becomes his protector, and in the process tries to liberate herself from a lifetime of regret. Henson is the right actress to play a
