With a mask somewhat reminiscent of Rorschach from Watchmen or Kroenen from Hellboy, the mysterious Dr Savior has been unveiled in upcoming horror film Donors.
Behind the mask of the "diabolical" doctor (above) is genre actor/producer DJ Perry. Earlier this year, we brought you the first teaser poster and some cast pictures featuring Perry alongside co-stars French/Philippine beauty Anne Gauthier and former Bond girl Lana Wood (famous for her role as Plenty O'Toole in 1971's Diamonds Are Forever starring Sean Connery), who is playing a character called Norma.
Paisaen Productions in association with Collective Development Inc has today announced that the Charles Pisaeno-directed horror thriller has moved into post-production sound and scoring.
The film, also written by Pisaeno, is about a troubled young woman (Niki Saletta, pictured below) abducted by a mysterious man known as Doctor Savior (DJ Perry).

DJ Perry has had many releases and unlike many actors his fans are from various genres. The family faith market knows DJ from films like “Book of Ruth, Journey of Faith” and “Figure in the Forest.” Other fans know DJ from westerns like “Miracle at Sage Creek,” “Ghost Town,” “Wicked Spring” and “Judges.” The blood and boobs fanzombies know DJ from films such as “The 8th Plague,” “An Ordinary Killer,” and “Gps.” He has even done some comedy in films like “From Venus” and “Tangy Guacamole” both looking at getting re-releases in light of new attention.
“DJ Perry adds a flavor that is completely unique and I believe he will help put some grit back into American actors,” laughs UK director John Regan speaking on his upcoming “Sherwood Horror” film that has Perry cast as the films lead Rob Locksley. The modernized tale has Robin Hood do what all anti-Twilight folks would like to do.

Collective Development's production Locked in a Room recently completed shooting with help from At Risk Entertainment. The film hosts an assortment of genre favourites including Carlucci Weyant (Karma), Rae'Ven Larrymore Kelly (The Preacher’s Kid), Robert Miano (Donnie Brasco), Dean Teaster (Dean Teaster’s Ghost Town), and DJ Perry (An Ordinary Killer). Distribution has not been confirmed yet, but expect this film to be available in the fourth quarter of 2010 (a prediction).

These dressed down one or two set constructions have been popular e.g. Nine Dead because of their reliance on characterizations and writing rather than complex set design and multiple locations. Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), seen left, has announced his participation in the Collective Development feature A State of Hate. From the press release the film is "inspired by true events" (Collective) and this reviewer hopes that writer Anthony Hornus can back up this claim. Based on true events is a title that gets slapped on a lot of horror films. Meanwhile, the film has also cast DJ Perry (An Ordinary Killer), Renee O'Connor (Xena: The Warrior Princess), Terence Knox (Tour of Duty), Tony Becker (Dean Teaster's Ghost Town), Renee Geerlings (Halloween II), and actor-comedian Johnny Dark. Shooting takes place within the state of Michigan and the film is a period piece that takes place in 1976. A "racial divide" and "simmering racial" tensions are sparked with the death of a "young black woman," (Collective) while white detective Lynn Kendall investigates. This action thriller will move into production once casting is complete, with more details inside.

As a boy young actor/Filmmaker to-be DJ Perry (Dean Teaster's "Ghost Town", "An Ordinary Killer") often enjoyed family trips to a hunting cabin in Harrison, Michigan with cousins and a favorite Uncle Jerry Jones. Mr. Jones was a favorite because he was a master storyteller. His humorous stories were a wonderful blend of fact and fiction. It was around this deer camp that fantastic stories such as the sightings of .Cloie the Ghost. and .Sasquashis. were often told. It is also good to note that many of these reported sightings might have happened while taking out .empties. in the wee hours. While still in high school, DJ Perry further entertained his friends with the .Sasquashis and the Jones. comics and later .The Hunt for Bigfoot. comedy shorts that would be among his first...
