Marvel has released sneak peek of their new Spider-Man animated series. It features a clip of Spidey in the heat of battle with Scorpion. The new series goes back to the origins of Spider-Man as a hero while Peter Parker discovers his powers and begins fighting crime in New York City.

Sony looks to be at it again. If you’ll recall, a few years back, they were looking to ignore the Marvel Cinematic Universe altogether and create their own universe off of The Amazing Spider-Man films, which saw Andrew Garfield in the lead role. While the first film in the franchise was solid enough, the second one kind of sent it off into the deep end. In an attempt to set things up for a Sinister Six spinoff, the film became too overloaded with villains to remain focused. The result? The movie didn’t live up to their expectations, the universe was canceled, and Spider-Man joined the Avengers in the McU.

The series will simply be called Marvel's Spider-Man, and it's set to drop sometime in 2017. Like a heroine tumbling through the rabbit hole, Disney took its own great fall this past weekend, as prospective tentpole Alice Through the Looking Glass coughed up a meager $34 million at the box-office in its opening days of release. A paltry sum in comparison to the $116 million opening weekend that Tim Burton's 2010 original "dark" fairy tale garnered, this sequel's poor showing registered as a sizable blip in Disney's ledgers. Floppier than the average flop, Disney's new folly provided industry competitors and common filmgoers several valuable lessons about how movies are made and sold.

It’s one of the truest things about Hollywood: even the best actors out there can have some of the worst movies. And I’m not just talking about the ones where we laugh so hard because it’s so bad – I’m talking about the real clunkers. Some of the most well-known, big time actors around can’t escape the failings of a bad director or a poorly written script, no matter how talented they are. No matter how many excellent, Oscar-nominated films they star in, people will still always be remembered for their worst movies as well. No famous actor in Hollywood

Premieres Thursday, January 14th at 10:30 pm Et on Comedy Central
One episode watched for review
Comedy Central has, over the years, become home to a number of talented comedians and offbeat shows, making their slate always one to look out for. One of their particular skills has been finding talented stars and writers of webseries and giving them a bigger platform, and it is from the latter that their new series Idiotsitter emerges. The brainchild of comedians Charlotte Newhouse and Jillian Bell, the series thrives on strong comedic performances, and shows a lot of potential depending on how well it can navigate the trickiness of its central conceit.
Idiotsitter‘s key strength in the pilot is in its performances. Charlotte Newhouse, who is the co-lead of the show alongside Jillian Bell, does some hilarious work with the role of a...

The producers of Jeff Nichols‘ interracial marriage drama “Loving” have unveiled the first photo of the film’s stars, Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga, which debuts exclusively on TheWrap. Writer-director Nichols’ longtime collaborator Michael Shannon co-stars alongside Nick Kroll, Marton Csokas (“The Equalizer”), Jon Bass (“Big Time in Hollywood, Fl”) and Bill Camp (“Black Mass”). Inspired by Nancy Buirski’s documentary “The Loving Story,” the film stars Edgerton and Negga as Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who married in June 1958. They were arrested, thrown into jail, and exiled from their home state of Virginia. For the next nine years,...

Carlos PenaVega has two women in his life right now—his wife (and Dancing With the Stars competitor) Alexa PenaVega, and his DWTS pro partner, Witney Carson. So which one of them knows the former boybander better? E! News sat down with the trio during a break in their rehearsals to play a DWTS Newlywed Game that will settle the score once and for all. Who is the ultimate Carlos PenaVega expert: His life partner who does pretty much everything with him, or the one who rehearses and sweats and dances with him for hours and hours every day? Depends on who can name his ultimate celebrity crush (and no, it's Not his own hot wife), who can name his favorite show (no, it's not the one he starred in, Big Time...

This post originally appeared on Film Independent's blog and appears here with their permission. At our recent Publicizing Your Film at Festivals event, publicist Sylvia Desrochers, President of Big Time PR & Marketing, said there are two questions she is asked by filmmakers more than any others. Read More: Submitting to Sundance? 5 Things That Will Help (and 5 That Won't) One is is how much filmmakers should expect to pay for a publicist. Desrochers' answer: between $5,000 and $15,000 per festival, depending on the size of the fest, the number of cast and crew representing the film and how much travel is involved. The other question she's most often asked is when filmmakers should start looking to hire a publicist. While Desrochers stressed that a publicist can't start working to bring attention to a film until it has been accepted to a major festival, she emphasized that the time to start thinking about publicity is right now.

Hey Oscar voters, the BBC Culture poll has just dissed you – Big Time. Do you care? In a comprehensive new poll of the 100 Greatest American Films of all time, released this week by BBC Culture, only a measly 12 Academy Award winning Best Pictures turn up at all, and only 8 of them in the top 75. Worse than that statistic for the lasting influence of the Academy’s Best Picture choices, according to this poll, a whopping 60, count ’em, 60 other movies mentioned were not…...

Inside Amy Schumer wraps up its third season tonight, and tomorrow, Key & Peele returns for the second half of its fourth season; following that episode comes the series premiere of Why? With Hannibal Buress. Review returns July 30. Another Period is off to a terrific start, and late-night show Meltdown's second season is going strong. That's quite a summer roster for Comedy Central. In fact, 2015 on the whole has been an impressive year for Comedy Central. (Well, in terms of quality and creativity of programming. Not in terms of ratings.) Of course there's the stalwarts South Park and The Daily Show, plus Broad City, The Nightly Show, @midnight, Workaholics, Kroll Show. Drunk History comes back in the fall, and Nathan for You is scheduled to come back at some point this year. There was Big Time in Hollywood, Fl, which is odd but not worthless, and the grating yet...

While there are a number of excellent television episodes that aired during the first half of the year, not all of them made our list, due to a number of reasons, chief among them the simple fact that there are too many episodes potentially worthy of inclusion for the entire panel to watch them all. This is where our individual picks come in. Each panelist was given one slot to fill with any episode that hadn’t made the list, but which they felt belonged there. Here are our individual picks, to complement our list of the Best Episodes of 2015 (so far):

If you don’t already know who Ezra Miller is, you’re going to very soon. Because the “Perks of Being A Wallflower” star is about to make his foray into the Big Time both a flashy and magical affair. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller is now in talks to star in J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter” spinoff-slash-prequel series, “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.” ... he’s only starring in a little movie called “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” as Barry Allen (“The Flash”) and the 2018 solo one-off for his character. So, you know, Nbd … Haha, Jk, it’s a real Bfd....

Big Time in Hollywood, Fl, the story of two would-be filmmaker brothers attempting to extort $20,000 from their own mom and dad — and thus getting entangled in a number of high-profile criminal activities — is unlike anything Comedy Central has ever done. Melding slapstick and drama, season one saw characters Jack (Alex Anfanger) and Ben (Lenny Jacobson) robbing a house with Cuba Gooding Jr., talking to Jason Alexander about human trafficking, and fulfilling their dreams of stardom in the most perverse way (with a fake movie starring a chimp). We spoke to Jacobson about how the show’s finale came together, what we can expect if it gets picked up for season two, and who was really responsible for Jason Alexander saying “Fuck Seinfeld” in the penultimate episode. Spoilers for the finale ahead! So, let’s talk about that finale. I read the script for the finale and was like, “Oh this...

Comedy Central's comedy lineup features some true standouts, but only one show stars Cuba Gooding Jr... as himself. "Big Time in Hollywood, Fl," produced by Ben Stiller and created by Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf (who first worked with Stiller on the digital series "Next Time... On Lonny"), features Alex Anfanger and Lenny Jacobson as the Dolfe brothers, whose love of filmmaking drags them into the seedy underground of their Florida town. In this exclusive clip, we get a look at one of the films Jack and Ben Dolfe have been making — "Monkey Largo," an intense action flick that might feel familiar to any "Miami Vice" fans. What "Monkey Largo" might lack in production quality, it makes up for in bullets, blood and (as you might suspect) a chimp. Watch the clip above. "Big Time in Hollywood, Fl" airs Wednesdays at 10:30pm on Comedy Central. Read More: 'Inside Amy.
