Season 4 'Amazing Race' winner Reichen Lehmkuhl can't stand his last name because it's too hard to pronounce ... which raises the question -- why can he stand his first name? Reichen, who once dated Lance Bass, filed a name change petition with the L.A. County Superior Court ... asking to chop his last name in half ... from Lehmkuhl to Kuhl. Cartoon Network has ordered a second season of Teen Titans Go!. That makes me happy since Tara Strong’s annoyed line delivery as Raven is easily one of the funniest things on TV.
I do love how the New Teen Titans are becoming so iconic.
ABC Family has found a host for its spelling competition Spell-Mageddon, picking Silver Spoons and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro.
Remember that hot guy Louie Ck hung out with (and kinda seemed to fall in love with) in that episode of Louie? FX has found a new role for him. Deadline reports that Miguel Gomez has joined the pilot The Strain, a vampire drama pilot from Guillermo del Toto and… er, Carlton Cuse.
That was one unforgettable Louie episode.

Though The A-List: New York was essentially a slow-motion, more obviously manipulated version of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, it's not the most unbearable show to think about in retrospect. I even have a fondness for the petty theatrics of Reichen Lehmkuhl, Mike Ruiz, Rod-i-ney, and the gamely naked Austin Armacost. Yes, it was sleaze, but it was harmless sleaze.
Since Logo's series went off the air in 2011, Armacost -- billed on the show as Lehmkuhl's ex-boyfriend -- has apparently been keeping up the body that earned him so much attention over two seasons. We caught up with him on a photo shoot in the Hollywood hills for DNA Magazine featuring some skimpy Andrew Christian skivvies (as well as aussieBum, 2xist, & Body Tech), and we thought we'd see how much he still enjoys the attention. Newsflash: He does. And he's pretty upfront -- and, honestly, really nice -- about it!

"Glee" star Jane Lynch has joined the ongoing boycott against Amway after the Michigan-based direct selling company's president was revealed to have made a personal donation to an anti-gay marriage group.
Lynch, who is openly gay and married to clinical psychologist Lara Embry, "grabbed the pen out of my hand and signed away," according to former Republican presidential candidate and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (Lgbt) rights advocate Fred Karger, who asked for the actress's support of the boycott he launched in August, according to Michigan Live.
The postcard bearing Lynch's signature has reportedly since been sent to Amway president and owner Doug DeVos. Other high-profile names attached to the boycott include reality TV star Reichen Lehmkuhl, who is also openly gay.
Karger, who serves as president of the Lgbt advocacy group Rights Equal Rights foundation, says his boycott extends to Amway's parent company and all all other businesses affiliated with DeVos' family business,...

Welcome back to your weekly Real L Word recap, where I make you relive the train wreck you just experienced hours ago. The last two episodes followed the cast’s adventures at Dinah Shore weekend, a weekend of unholy pool parties that is all:
Kibbles and tits! Kibbles and tits!
And anyone sober was all:
Every Showtime subscriber last week made this face as well
So then to cope they were all:
Pretty much everyone in the cast groped or made out with one another, Cori got drunk, Lauren and Kiyomi smushed, Romi and Sara yelled at each other, and everyone – whether or not they had been drinking – ended up with a hangover.
This week, the cast is reintegrated into civilian life. Hooray! Episode 307 begins with Whitney and Sara speeding like homing pigeons to the matchmaking service that first brought them together in Season 1: Lax.

Remember when we tallied the 8 Most Annoying Gay Male Characters in TV History? That turned out to be very cathartic for me, and I thank you for joining me on that annoying journey. But the saga isn't over yet: Now we're counting off the nine most annoying reality TV stars in history, and I may need your help in naming offenders 10-150. Contribute those in the comments.
Word of caution: "Annoying" is sometimes an awesome trait. Definitely not always, but I make notice of the reality stars who rightfully wear the honor of "most annoying" like a badge of honor.
1. Survivor's Colton Cumbie
Yeah, nothing about this guy deserves a badge of honor. Can you believe there was a time when we'd have considered Richard Hatch one of the most annoying gay contestants on a reality series? Oh, our innocence! Survivor: One World's Colton Cumbie was a racist,...

Gay TV as we know it is dead.
Just as MTV pulled the plug on music programming in the '90s, the network's younger, swishier cousin, Logo, has decided to say goodbye to its original raison d'être: gay-focused television. One reaction has been to bemoan the news and call Logo a traitor for walking out on its community. But given the current state of Logo's programming, the decision just may be a blessing in disguise for the gay rights movement.
None of Logo's upcoming series include gay characters in "lead" roles, according to a press release announcing coming programming changes, first revealed by Queerty. Instead, the network has opted to green-light only female-friendly, gayish knock-offs of the reality shows Toddlers & Tiaras and Mob Wives, with show titles like Eden Wood's World and Wiseguys. Even RuPaul's Drag U is getting a revamp to reach a more mainstream audience. In other words,...

A Grammy winner. A big-screen leading man. A boy-band favorite. Kristy McNichol, the popular teen star of the 1970s and 1980s, who through a rep Tuesday to People, said she was a lesbian, is in good company. Here are five other teen idols who opened up—and came out: 1. Lance Bass: While he was riding the boy-band wave with Justin Timberlake and the rest of 'N Sync, Bass felt he'd wipe out the group if he discussed his sexuality. "It would overpower everything," he said in 2006 when, with 'N Sync on hiatus, and amid incessant rumors, he revealed he was in a relationship with Amazing Race alum Reichen Lehmkuhl. 2. Ricky Martin: From the moment the former Menudo...

Love Is In The Air! Between All The Straight Guys!
While the concept of the "bromance" is nothing new — the term was coined back in the late 90s — observing the popular culture the past couple of weeks, I can't help but feel something has changed when it comes to straight guys expressing their affection for each other. Yes, I know gay guys can be in bromances, both with other gay guys and straight guys, but that's not what I'm addressing here. And, yes, I know there have been touching examples before, but something does seem different.
What exactly? I'd say it's not just how commonplace they've become, but the depth of feeling which these straight guys are now expressing for each other. What, in my opinion, was often kind of a jokey thing in the past, (or a little bit of wishful thinking on the part of fans — see Hawaii Five-0...

One of our favorite mantras around the AfterElton offices is “because visibility matters.” Indeed, the idea that gay and bisexual men need to be visible, both to ourselves and to the wider culture, is one of the principle reasons AfterElton.com even exists. After all, it is only by being visible to family, friends and the world that we’ve been able to overcome the stereotypes and bigotry used to justify discrimination against the Glbt community.
That quest for visibility explains why we have done so many polls including the AfterElton Hot 100, the Fifty Greatest Gay Movies, the Top 50 Gay TV Characters, and the 50 Best Gay Books. After all, it’s not as if Entertainment Weekly is going to ask gay and bisexual men which guys we think are the hottest, which movies mean the most to us or, in the case of our latest poll, which celebrities we most admire.

It was the TV and film actor's first time on stage and he almost turned it down from stage fright, but now he walks away feeling enriched by the experience.
"I feel like I can go back to L.A.," Moretti tells Zap2it. "And be a much more well-rounded actor and bring much more to the table. When you get on stage and you know you can't mess up, there's really nothing you can't do in film or TV."
Moretti will be ending his run as Andrew, who is Polish (though the actor is actually full Italian) and will do anything he can to prove his love for his Italian boyfriend among the crazy challenges of his beau's family.

Welcome A-List survivors! The reality series about "gay housewives" had its finale last week, and you know what that means. Our long national nightmare is over!
Or almost. We still have to get through the special reunion show hosted by the esteemed Wendy Williams.
Because Charles Lipton had a previous engagement. And too bad. Can you imagine an Inside the Actors' Studio episode devoted to Reichen Lehmkuhl?
Something tells me Reichen can!
But instead of the Actors' Studio, we're inside New York night club Amnesia where Wendy kicks things off by unclasping a red velvet rope and directly beckoning the television audience into the VIP area. "We're all on the A-List, tonight!" She says.
Which is a little unsettling. I'll stick it out and watch the show, but only if Wendy promises not to break the fourth wall again. Not sure I want to be in the same room with...

Fans of Twilight and Gossip Girl will be gleaming with delight at the prospect of Chace Crawford and Taylor Lautner appearing in the same film together after rumours circulated that the pair are set to sign up to star in Reichen Lehmkuhl’s 2006 memoir Here’s What We’ll Say: Growing Up, Coming Out.
The film will focus on Lehmkuhl’s time in the Us Air Force where his involvement with the Academy under the name ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’, shows his struggles where he found a secret group of gay cadets who would meet and agree on what they would say should someone be outed.
Producer Lalo Vasquez said that Crawford and Lautner were top of the list of young actors to star in the project in which no offers have been as of yet while the financial group and director is still yet to be decided.

The Saddest Gay Week Ever
Around the AfterElton.com offices we frequently refer to the "AfterElton community," but the reality of how much the site has grown to become an actual community truly hit home this week when we learned that Logan, one of our longtime members, had tragically been killed in a car accident.
We only learned that Logan had died two weeks ago when his friend Emi joined the site to post the awful news. She said she had done so because Logan (known as Fergie to his offline friends) had frequently spoken of those he'd met on AfterElton and how much the friends he'd met here had meant to him.
I can honestly say I was blown away hearing this. A gay guy living in the highlands of Scotland spoke fondly and frequently enough of the site that his straight friend thought to come here and tell us the news?...

Reichen Lehmkuhl is holding a grudge.
Last week, I talked to the 36-year-old former winner (with his ex-partner Chip Arndt) of the CBS reality show The Amazing Race 4 and the current star (with his current boyfriend Rodiney Santiago) of the Logo reality show A-List: New York (Logo owns AfterElton.com).
And I confess, I was a little surprised by how frank the former Air Force officer was, offering exactly what he thinks about everything from his A-List co-star Austin Armacost to the criticism of The A-List's salacious ways by many people in the Glbt community. (But there are some things even he wouldn't say: he was contractually forbidden from discussing upcoming episodes of The A-List, including this week's break-up with Rodiney.)
Is Lehmkuhl being thin-skinned or refreshingly honest? Does he have a legitimate beef that the knives are out for him, for reasons that range from over-exposure in the gay...

Is The Gay Glass Half Naked Or Half Dressed?
So I was thinking about naked men this week — as part of my job, you pervs. Get your minds out of the gutter!
Actually, it wasn't just naked men I was pondering, but gay/bi male sexuality and how it's treated in the traditional media. Have things gotten better? Worse? In what ways? Is the gay glass of male sexuality half full or half empty?
What got me thinking about the topic? Well, like most things these days, it can be traced back to Glee which actually seems pretty emblematic of the whole topic. And more specifically it was the new issue of GQ featuring Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron and Lea Michele from Glee, that got me pondering the subject.
When I first saw the GQ cover I thought to myself, "Wow, what a double standard. You'd never see that sort...

Where we left off: Danno learned he did have a reason to stay in Hawaii — Steve. Awwww!
Before we actually get to recapping these next two episodes, you might have missed it, but last August Scott Caan tore his Acl filming a stunt on the set of Hawaii Five-0 and would need surgery. The show decided his injury would subsequently be written into the show.
Well, this is the first episode we see that and, sadly, it cuts way down on the face time we get between Danno and Steve since Caan can't run around and chase baddies with his heart's secret desire.
Instead, we get a lot of Daniel Dae Kim as Chin, who is very handsome, but just doesn't have that same bromantic vibe with Alex O'Loughlin.
But to make up a bit for that, we do get a scene almost right away of Danno visiting the doctor...

Austin, the self-proclaimed model, announces his surprise engagement as former flame Reichen’s relationship seems to be heading south — and not in a good way!
It was a battle to outshock on the Oct. 18 episode of The A-List as our favorite group of sycophants, most notably Austin Armacost, did all they could to surprise their fellow cast members. Austin, it turns out, has a British boyfriend who he is engaged too! He cannot however live in England with him though as he can’t model there. Umm, can he model anywhere?
Austin and his Brit have been dating for two years meaning that he likely cheated on the young lad with pal Reichen Lehmkuhl, or so bleach blond Ryan Nickulas deduced. Oh, and Ryan owns a salon, who knew! Good for him, I kinda just assumed he sat around all day speaking in soundbites!

This Is Still CBS. So Let's Not Get Carried Away...
I know we're only a couple of weeks into the fall television season, but it seems like there is already a fair bit to say about what is working ... and what isn't.
First the bad news for the two of you watching ABC's The Whole Truth. While it won't be the first show to get canceled (hello, Lone Star and My Generation!) it looks pretty well doomed. Which is a shame as Alejo (Anthony Ruviviar) is pretty great and last week's episode not only featured a funny moment in a strip club where he made it very clear he wasn't interested in the ladies shaking their bon-bons, but the episode also frequently referenced the fact Alejo is gay in completely casual ways. It truly seems like a shame we're never going to get to see where this character might have gone.

Last night, gay-focused cable channel Logo premiered its somewhat-anticipated reality series, The A-List: New York, a Real Housewives-esque look at the lives of five apparently important gay men in New York City. (It’s worth noting up front that A-List is produced by True Entertainment, the minds behind The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which celebrated its third-season premiere last night, too.) As you might expect, much of this first hour was spent introducing us to the men who make up the cast. Each got a little vignette where we learned who (and how bitchy) they are, what they do, who they’re dating,...

Words to live by from A-List: New York's opening credits:
"The A-List is a crowded room. If you don't have a pot to piss in you probably shouldn't be there."
Well guys, I'm not sure exactly what that means, but consider this recap your very own piss pot.
It's your entree into gay A-List society, where you get to hobnob vicariously with the richly ironic and the famously shallow. But take heart! There's a lot to laugh at, and a few guys on this show you're really going to like.
If you're truly one of the haters and can't appreciate bad reality television (Jersey Shore, Real Housewives, etc.) at all, then the A-List and this recap probably aren't for you.
But I happen to like trainwreck reality TV, and on that front A-List: New York delivers!

The A-List: New York's Reichen Lehmkuhl
In our parent company Logo's new reality show The A-List: New York, a “docu-soap” about the lives and loves of six social-climbing gay men, there’s a scene where Reichen Lehmkuhl is about to have sex with his boyfriend in a hot tub.
“Oops,” says the boyfriend, Brazilian model Rodiney Santiago, as he slips his swimsuit off.
But just as things are really steaming up, Reichen’s cellphone rings. When he climbs out of the tub to answer it, it turns out it’s Austin Armacost, one of the other A-List-ers – the guy that the show has clearly telegraphed is going to try to come between Reichen and Rodiney over the course of the season.
Austin tells Reichen he wants them to go out to dinner, even as Rodiney sits stewing in the hot tub.

The cast members of Logo's upcoming "Gay Housewives" series (first called Kept, now called The A List) comprise a lame procession of models and other, model-shaped people. Former Lance Bass paramour Reichen Lehmkuhl was no more intriguing in 2005 than he is now, and regrettably, the onetime Amazing Race winner is the biggest name slated for the new series. Boring! In 2010, it's bizarre that a legitimate Lgbt-based non-competition reality series has yet to emerge. We've thought of three shows we'd love to see in primetime, the kinds of shows that could educate and scintillate.

Pop star Lance Bass has sparked speculation he's dating U.S. reality star Kyan Douglas, after they were spotted on a string of nights out together. The openly-gay former Nsync singer is said to have been single since he split from hairdresser Ben Thigpen in 2008, but he's now romancing Queer Eye grooming expert Douglas, according to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six.
A source tells the publication the pair has been spotted enjoying dates in New York and San Francisco - but their union is only recent. The insider adds, "Lance admitted to having a bad track record with friends and asked everyone what they thought of Kyan. We all assured him Kyan is 'good people.' Kyan asked Lance out."
Before dating Ben Thigpen, Lance Bass was romantically linked to Danielle Fishel, Reichen Lehmkuhl and Pedro Andrade.

The Naked Office is a therapy show, but fairly literal to the title, and Exposed is from Ashton Kutcher, and involves public nudity as a social experiment.
We all know my disdain for the board game movies (except Candyland), so you’ll forgive my cynicism about Ridley Scott saying that Monopoly will be all about greed. All you...

Q: Am I wrong or does the latest episode of Nip/Tuck send a very negative representation of the gay community, and the idea of gay marriage and adoption? – Dan, Rochester NY
A: A negative representation of the gay community just because they do an episode about an adoptive boy who gets plastic surgery so he’ll look more like his father so it’ll be more of a turn-on for the crowds of rich gay men who watch them perform in their live incest sex show?
Nip/Tuck's disturbing chip off the old block
Well, okay, but that’s just one gay storyline of this season, right? It’s not like they also did an explicit storyline about brutal prison rape, or one where a wildly promiscuous...

Q: There are so many songs on each episode of Glee! How in the world do they record it all? And how do they pick the songs? – Velma, New Orleans, La
A: It’s a hell of a lot of work! For the first thirteen episodes, they recorded well over 60 songs.
“On the first episodes, we were preparing weeks in advance,” says Kevin McHale, who plays Artie (the guy in the wheelchair). “But as we got down to doing episodes twelve and thirteen, we’d record it Monday, rehearse on Tuesday, and shoot it on Wednesday. It just got crazy. We’re recording for an episode before while shooting the current episode and rehearsing another episode. It can be anywhere from ten to 16 hours on the set.”

Q: One of my friends has recently turned me on to country music (I am not sure whether to thank him yet or not). Are there any who are out, or who are known to have a positive relationship with the Lgbt community? -- Megan, Canton, Ohio
A: No out mainstream acts, but some country acts have been open, vocal supporters of us – most notably, Dolly Parton, The Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw, and even Marie Osmond (who, as we all know, is both “a little bit country” and the mother of a lesbian). And, of course, most of the cool alt-country acts that I personally adore are on record as supporting us: Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Roseanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris, etc.
But can I just say?...

For most people, spending time with their grandparents consists of leisurely outings or afternoon chats. In the upcoming “The Wasps” comic book and feature film, one pilot’s quality time with grandma comes in the form of shooting down Nazi aircraft.
Based the true exploits of the women who served the United States Army Airforce during World War II, collectively known as Wasp (Women Air Service Pilots), the comic tells the story of a time-displaced Air Force pilot from modern times who ends up flying alongside his Wasp grandmother and battling Nazis in pursuit of a mysterious artifact.
Former Air Force pilot and “The Amazing Race” winner Reichen Lehmkuhl created the concept based on his real life grandmother Betty Turner Stagg, who served as a Wasp pilot during WWII.
The project, slated to arrive in stores in 2010 through Bluewater Productions, was co-written by Lehmkuhl, Bluewater president Darren G. Davis and Adam Gragg.

A New comic book is being launched by American actor and reality TV star Reichen Lehmkuhl.
The 35-year-old is a former Air Force captain who moved into acting after he won the fourth series of Us reality game show The Amazing Race.
He is now penning a new action adventure comic, The Wasps, and is also set to star in a film adaptation of the story.
The Wasps is inspired by the exploits of Lehmkuhl's grandmother, Betty Turner Stagg, who was a member of Wasp (Women Airforce Service Pilots) - a group of thousands of civilian female aviators employed to fly military aircraft on non-combat missions during the Second World War, in order to free up male pilots for combat service.
The comic, to be published by Bluewater Productions next year, is a time-travel tale that follows the adventures of a modern-day Air Force pilot trapped back in 1942. The hero fights Nazis,...
