The original film however ran for about 42 minutes, and was compartmentalised between three reels (roughly 15 minutes each), and was released on seperate days. Tuesday, July 26; Friday, July 29; and Saturday, July 30, 1910.
According to Prof. Stephen Railton, "Vitagraph's 1910 production was the first
'three-reeler.!" This was an innovation over the then-standard "one-reelers,"

According to the translation of the YouTube videos description, it states the following:
This film captures the early cinematic versions of Chushingura, most of which appear to date back to 1912. The films were directed by Shozo Makino, the so-called 'father of Japanese cinema.' Makino, who passed away in 1929 after a 20-year career in filmmaking, was a pioneer and expert in kyugeki ('old-school film'), as cinema based on kabuki in the 1910s was called. The movie features the performance of Matsunosuke Onoe, a kabuki actor destined to become a star of Japanese cinema, whose collaboration with Makino continued until his death in 1925.
