The movie may have been awful and his hammy performance was one of the many reasons why, but by all accounts, Arnold Schwarzenegger had a great time shooting Batman & Robin. The action icon was paid $25 million to spend just six weeks of the four-month shoot on set, which included the very 1990s scenario of taking visits from Jon Bon Jovi so that they could smoke cigars together during the actor’s downtime.
He also barely interacted with his co-stars, only seeing George Clooney in passing, while he never actually met Chris O’Donnell until the movie’s premiere. Not only that, but Mr. Freeze’s total screen time amounted to just 23 of Batman & Robin‘s 125 minutes, and in that short span, he managed to drop no less than 27 ice-related puns, which equates to him pocketing over $900,000 for every single one of the jokes that the leading man hated so much.

When tracing the evolution of the comic book blockbuster from the dark days of Batman & Robin to the almost ubiquitous presence on our screens that it’s become over the last 20 years, most people pinpoint Bryan Singer’s X-Men as the movie that marked a shift in attitude and convinced the major studios that superheroes could be a continually viable property.
Sadly, Stephen Norrington’s Blade frequently tends to get left out of the conversation, despite the impact it had on big screen comic adaptations. Just a year after George Clooney and Joel Schumacher’s neon and nipples disasterpiece had almost killed the genre entirely, Wesley Snipes threw on a leather trench coat and a pair of sunglasses to remind people that these characters could be effortlessly cool if they were handled correctly.

After a stellar October full of spooky flicks and other great releases, Netflix has already come out swinging in November, too. The initial few drops of the month have brought a solid collection of fresh content guaranteed to be filled with at least a few things that you’re going to be anxious to add to your list, such as the hilarious family comedy Paul Blart: Mall Cop, unnerving sci-fi flick Prospect, and the Keanu Reeves thriller Knock Knock.
But if you’re feeling a little impatient and want to begin planning out your December schedule, too, you’ll love this good news – Netflix has already announced a pretty nice selection of additions coming next month, including a handful of highly-anticipated originals.

Warner Bros. are making a serious effort to position their lineup of DC Comics content as the cornerstone of HBO Max, and there are already a whole host of exciting projects in the works. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is obviously the big one, but there’s also John Cena’s The Suicide Squad spinoff, Matt Reeves’ companion show to The Batman that focuses on the Gotham City Police Department, James Wan’s Aquaman animated miniseries and J.J. Abrams’ Justice League Dark to name but a few.
It isn’t all about the new arrivals, though, as an established favorite is also shaping up to become an integral part of HBO Max’s lineup. The first two seasons may have aired on the doomed DC Universe, but Titans managed to find a huge audience after Netflix acquired the international distribution rights to the series. Liam Neeson may have been a late-blooming action star, but if “Honest Thief” is the best he can muster now, those days are now behind him. As Tom, a notorious bank robber with a conscience, Neeson does his best with the material at hand, but he can only do so much when it reduces everything around him to a bland formulaic exercise.

If you ask someone what’s the worst superhero movie, they’ll probably say Batman & Robin. I mean, can you blame them? Why, Joel Schumacher? Why did you give us this cesspool of a movie? It’s a well-known story by now, but Schumacher basically blamed the studio for pretty much everything. According to him, it was basically a corporate movie, because toys, toys, and more toys. Makes sense, but then again, what in the holy name of Batman was with all of those one-liners?! Okay, we love Arnold Schwarzenegger, but seriously, way to kill a tragic and popular DC villain. As

One of Magic: The Gathering‘s strongest decks following the release of Zendikar Rising has just taken a massive clout around the head by Wizards of the Coast’s mighty ban hammer. While the timing will certainly raise a few eyebrows – nerfs this soon into a new Standard rotation are almost unheard of – the unfortunate victim of Wizards’ ire will come as absolutely no surprise. Introduced earlier this year in Theros: Beyond Death, Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath has become something of an incredibly powerful engine for ramp-oriented decks, enabling rapid, repeated healing, card draw and an insanely fast push into late game all on a single piece of cardboard.
Combined with other green-colored cards such as Cultivate, Uro was already a mainstay of the format and while strong, wasn’t too dominant. Thanks to even more support in Zendikar Rising with cards like Omnath, Locus of Creation and Lotus Cobra,...

Joel Schumacher, the colorful director of 23 feature films including Flatliners, Falling Down and perhaps the two most polarizing entries in the Batman franchise, has died at the age of 80 after a year-long battle with cancer, according to Deadline.
Other films on his resume included one of the defining movies of the “Brat Pack” era, St. Elmo’s Fire, along with the John Grisham adaptations A Time to Kill and The Client, the highly influential horror film The Lost Boys and the screen version of the long-running Broadway musical The Phantom of the Opera.
But Schumacher was arguably best known for directing 1995’s Batman Forever and its follow-up, 1997’s Batman and Robin, which veered the series away from the dark, psychologically twisted tone established on Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992) and into campier territory closer in spirit to the 1960s TV show.

The ever-evolving meta of Standard format, now two sets deep in 2020 with Theros: Beyond Death and Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, requires players to stay on their toes for the latest strategies and ideas, lest they find themselves on the back foot at the next tournament. That said, there’s a few decks you can build right now that’ll give anyone an edge in competition. What’s more, these builds should hold good value for resales and trades too, giving you some fodder for newer rarities down the line.
It’s worth noting, of course, that the fluctuating market for Magic: The Gathering means these are just the prices at time of writing, as set out on sites such as mtgdecks.net. Always double-check current standings before investing.

Fans may have been going to great lengths to campaign in a variety of ways to try and convince Disney to make a sequel to Alita: Battle Angel, but studios aren’t exactly known for caving in to online pressure, especially one as all-powerful and omnipotent as the Mouse House. Last year’s $170 million sci-fi epic quickly found itself becoming a cult favorite, but with the global box office only just crossing the $400 million barrier, it appeared as though the profit margins simply weren’t enough to make further adventures a reality.
Even the stars of the movie haven’t been shy in admitting that the chances of a follow-up are remote, despite Alita‘s recent surge in popularity. However, we heard just yesterday that Disney were reportedly considering making a sequel after all, with the monolithic corporation said to be hugely impressed with the home video sales and dedicated...

Perhaps the biggest announcement to come out of Marvel’s 2019 Comic-Con Panel was that two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali will be playing Blade in the reboot of the franchise. And it’s happening because Ali basically called up Kevin Feige and told him he wanted the part and he got it. Apparently, after you’ve won two Oscars, you can throw your weight around a little and Ali did exactly that.
Unfortunately, it’s going to be a while yet before we can see the movie thanks to both the pandemic and Marvel’s very long and busy release schedule. But in the meantime, Ali took to Instagram to share a sketch of what he could look like as the character. Which you can see for yourself down below.

Rise Up New York! Telethon Raises Over $115 Million To Support New Yorkers Most Impacted By Covid-19
Robin Hood, New York’s largest poverty-fighting organization, and iHeartMedia joined together tonight to air a citywide “virtual telethon” to raise awareness and funds to help New Yorkers whose lives have been dramatically impacted by Covid-19.
Billy Joel at Rise Up New York!
Hosted by Tina Fey, “Rise Up New York!” brought together bighearted New Yorkers with one common goal: to raise funds for Robin Hood’s relief and recovery efforts to help fellow New Yorkers rebuild their lives as the city moves towards recovery and beyond. One hundred percent of donations raised are deployed directly to the organizations on the frontlines who are providing support for food, shelter, cash assistance, health and mental health, legal services, education and more. To date, Robin Hood has raised over $115 million toward relief and recovery efforts since the onset of the pandemic in New York City. In addition to tonight’s telethon, over...

After the wild success of Beauty and the Beast, Disney has apparently become determined to give the live-action treatment to every single one of their animated classics. 2019 alone saw Dumbo, Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp and The Lion King, with the delayed Mulan landing soon.
Beyond that, we know they’re working on adaptations of The Little Mermaid, The Sword in the Stone, Pinocchio, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Lilo & Stitch, among others. And now, we can apparently add a silly ol’ bear to that list, as we’re hearing from our sources – the same ones who told us live-action remakes of Robin Hood, Hercules and Bambi were in the works months before they were announced – that another live-action Winnie the Pooh film is meandering through the production line towards us.
Plot details are still scarce, but from what we understand, it won’t be related in any way to 2018’s Christopher Robin.

DC Universe has released a new teaser for the long-awaited animated series Young Justice: Outsiders. As we see the Earth come into view in the teaser, another object takes over the focus, and it's none other than Apokolips.
The main purpose of the trailer, though, is to reveal that the series will premiere on January 4th, 2019. So we won’t have to wait much longer folks!
The superhero line-up in the series includes Static, Kid Flash, Robin, Wonder Girl, Spoiler, Blue Beetle, Thirteen, Arrowette, Arsenal, and Beast Boy. There are also other characters that will appear. Producer Greg Weisman previously confirmed, “Batman and the Outsiders, I suppose, is a big one. Specifically for the first few episodes.”
Producer Brandon Vietti also teased a few other things that we can expect from the series saying, “We’re kind of riffing on that, doing our Earth-16 version of that story. Our entire...

It's been almost four-years since Robin Williams' tragic suicide and not a day goes by that Hollywood doesn't feel the gravity of his loss. That said, the more time that passes, the clearer it becomes that the late 63-year-old was sadly struggling with a number of demons, some of which were seemingly too far beyond anyone's control or ability to fix.
