Amongst many a Power Rangers fan, Christmas was not only the most wonderful time of year but more importantly, a time to add to your collection of Power Rangers merchandise. If you were lucky the toys for the upcoming season would have trickled into your local toy store, letting you get your first look at the newest team of Rangers.
Christmas also brought Power Rangers Christmas specials! Which means we got to see what our favorite heroes wanted for Christmas, Christmas themed monsters, and an oddly intense point of Power Rangers canon that might make Santa the most powerful character ever. Below are all the Power Rangers Christmas episodes, ranked from the worst to the best.

While not a Christmas or holiday episode, it needs to be mentioned as one of the few times any other holiday traditions are brought up in the series.

Power Rangers will celebrate its 30th season next year and it’s tackling this anniversary season with a true throwback to the past For most of its life, each new Power Rangers season would feature a completely new cast, story line, and a new adaption of a Japanese Super Sentai series. This somewhat changed starting in 2011 with Power Rangers Samurai where the traditional season was broken into two smaller seasons but it was still business as usual. The only seasons that carried over a large majority of their casts were the first five, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, and Power Rangers in Space.
However, for the first time since those seasons, Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury won’t be introducing a whole new cast. Instead, Cosmic Fury will feature the entire main cast from Power Rangers Dino Fury returning in their same roles. A video from Hasbro Pulse confirmed the news,...

Power Rangers is a legacy, joining a very small list of shows that run for such a long period of time, over 28 years! Throughout that time, the series has had its ups, its downs, and its mehs. I’ve been watching since the ripe age of 2 and have always loved the series, even in some of its more questionable moments.
But where does each season rank? With so many entries which ones stand as the best of the best of the best or which one and is a super mega dud? After a rewatch of all the seasons I ranked them all from worst to best with a little explanation of why they ended up where they did.
Quick note: I’m not including the “Mmpr Reversioning” as a season. It’s just a few Photoshop effects over a smattering of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 episodes, and it’s nothing to write home about.

Warning: This article contains Power Rangers Dino Fury premiere spoilers.
For years Power Rangers basically had one continuity. Sure it was a little wonky and things didn’t quite all fit together but all the seasons basically took place in one universe.
Then Power Rangers Rpm happened.
At first it was assumed to be a series set far in the future but was confirmed in its team-up with Power Rangers Samurai that no, Rpm’s post apocalyptic world was its own continuity. Then Dino Charge ended with dinosaurs alive again so it was in its own universe. Ever since Power Rangers fans have wondered at the start of each season where that season could take place. Is it in the “Main” universe? It’s own universe? The Rpm universe? The Dino Charge universe? The Boom comics universe? One of the many, many offshoots?

The Power Rangers are being rebooted for the big screen and Paramount plans to change things up when it comes to the lineup of individuals who’ll be making up the Mighty Morphin team. And of the many changes set to take place, the studio is reportedly eyeing an Asian actress for the role of the Pink Ranger.
Amy Jo Johnson was the first one to bring the character to life both in the TV series and in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. She’s reportedly going to make an appearance in the new film as well, as will the rest of the original cast, and since her time piloting the Pterodactyl Zord and wielding her laser bow, there’ve been several different pink-clad Rangers.

2017’s Power Rangers was supposed to usher in a new era for the beloved franchise. Hopes were high prior to the film’s release, with the trailers at least promising some impressive visual effects and sequels already being planned. But then it crashed and burned at the box office, making just $142 million on a budget of $105 million. Theories for its failure ranged from it being certified PG-13 to it being seen as a “junior league” imitation of a superhero movie. My theory is simple: it just wasn’t very good.
Whatever the case, Hasbro feels that they’ve learned from their mistakes and can do better. Simon Bennett, director of many past episodes, has just revealed he’s the new Ep of Power Rangers.
The Power Rangers franchise may be about to see some big changes. Ever since 2015 Judd "Chip" Lynn has been executive producer on the franchise, overseeing Dino Charge, Ninja Steel, and Beast Morphers. While he wasn’t the only executive producer on those season he was the one who had a large portion of control over the show, working with the cast and crew on nearly every level of production. Now it’s being reported that Lynn won’t be the only executive producer working on the series in New Zealand.
Thanks to The Power Scoop via No Pink Spandex, we’ve learned that Simon Bennett (director of various Ninja Steel and Beast Morphers episodes) has, as his IMDb profile states, ”taken over the reins as Ep of Hasbro's famed Power Rangers TV series.

The Saban Brands era of Power Rangers comes to an end and this episode represents everything wrong with how it handled Power Rangers on TV.
This Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel review contains spoilers.
Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel Episode 22
It’s fitting that in the last episode of the Saban Brands era of Power Rangers it has to once again acknowledge its biggest narrative mistake. Dinosaurs coming back to life at the end of Dino Super Charge. A decision so baffling that it forced all of Dino Charge to be shunted off into another universe.
Every time it’s brought up I’m reminded how unnecessary it was. Why did the dinosaurs need to come back? Why couldn’t we have just had Dino Charge be in the main continuity? Oh yeah, because Power Rangers still thinks it’s the 90’s.
Let’s back up. In the recently released...

2015 was a fantastic year for horror movies, and one of the more entertaining ones was writer/director Jason Lei Howden‘s metal/horror/comedy Deathgasm. It’s his debut feature, but you wouldn’t know it by how well it manages the balance between gory horror and big laughs. The movie recently hit home video from Dark Sky Films, and while it’s fairly light on special features it does include a commentary track from Howden. He’s understandably enthusiastic about his film, his cast & crew, and — of course — heavy metal music, and he delivers an entertaining track while worth a listen from fans. Keep reading to see what I heard on the Deathgasm commentary. Deathgasm (2015) Commentators: Jason Lei Howden (writer/director) 1. The opening black & white sequence was meant to emulate black metal album covers. 2. Producer Ant Timpson‘s “rectal prolapse” graphic is apparently on his business cards now. There have been a number of Power Rangers pitches that never quite made it to the screen. We've got the details on three of them.
The world of television is a crazy place. For every idea that eventually makes it to screen, a hundred more are left unused. Some of them are true gems, others are discarded for the realities of production, and some are just plain bad.
Power Rangers is no exception to this. For a show that’s been on for twenty years, a lot of ideas have been lost for one reason or the other: Greg Aronowitz's original idea for a Lord of the Rings version of Mystic Force, Devin becoming the Triassic Ranger, and even the fabled “Ancient Rangers". Whether all these would have happened, or if they were even true, still provoke fandom discussion to this day. Today we’ll be...

After over two and a half decades, Power Rangers has given us a ton of Red Rangers. Which crimson warrior is the best?
The Red Ranger in Power Rangers is usually the leader of the team, the one who gets the most prominent focus on the team and the most action figures! So in honor of the arrival of the second season of Power Rangers: Beast Morphers we’re ranking all the Red Rangers from the TV show and movies. Sorry, Supersonic Red Ranger. You died beautifully. Sorry to Hyperforce Red as well, you deserve a burrito.
We leave no stone unturned here at Den of Geek. If you haven’t heard of some of these Rangers, clearly you haven’t been binge watching all 800+ episodes.
42. Nick Russell (Firass Dirani) Power Rangers Mystic Force
Nick is the worst. Mystic Force was squarely focused on him and that stupid red blanket of his.

My friend, actor/filmmaker, Jon Lee Brody ("Pawn," "Star Trek Into Darkness"), has created a short film called "Police Guys" that you guys should see! Brody wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the 15-minute film alongside Stephen Kramer Glickman (Big Time Rush), Shawna Waldron (Little Giants), Lester Speight (Transformers: Dark of the Moon), Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls), Lisa Catara (Charlie Valentine), Gonzalo Menendez (Act of Valor), Alex Heartman (Power Rangers Super Samurai) and Christine Lakin (Step by Step, Valentine.s Day).
Here's more info on the project:
A pair of cops (Jon Lee Brody and Stephen Kramer Glickman) on a stakeout get much more than they bargained for! Police Guys is a fifteen-minute short film/pilot that was written, produced and directed by Jon Lee Brody.

Let’s say your latest nth iteration of a floundering franchise (like Power Rangers) hasn’t received as much of a bump as you’d hoped from that marketing push which transformed the lead character into a super version of himself (like in Power Rangers Samurai). Maybe the push didn’t work because the “super” iteration only resulted in a white vest with big shoulder pads, or maybe it’s because the writing for that take on the series has been abysmal to date. With those circumstances and problems in mind, how would you fix it? How about introducing an animalistic gun called the “bullzooka” which really functions in no way like a bazooka (from which it takes its name) and doesn’t really change anything? Sure, why not.

If Power Rangers Samurai is one of the worst things to happen to the Power Rangers franchise, then you’d think that the Super Samurai series would be the worst, but really it’s not much different from the season that spawned it. In fact, there’s really no difference at all besides a slight costume upgrade, meaning you can expect all the same kinds of horrible acting (even by the standard of this series which at its best was hammy), uninspired fight choreography, and repetitive episodic structure. There’s quite literally no reason to subject yourself to this iteration of the Power Rangers saga unless you’re under the age of seven and only need flashy imagery to make you happy. If that’s the case though, the parents responsible for such a child should make a good parenting decision and get their child hooked on just about any other kids’ TV series.

Power Rangers Samurai: The Team Unites
Stars: Hector David Jr, Brittany Anne Pirtle, Rene Naufahu, Felix Ryan, Kate Elliott, Steven Skyler | Directed by Peter Salmon
Confession time: I have a soft spot for the Power Rangers. From the very first time I saw the original series debut in an early morning slot on ITV, to the shows recent marathon showings on satellite channel Kix!, I’ve kept up with the franchise even if I haven’t seen every episode. For me the show lost it’s way a little once Disney took the reigns – they obviously chose to aim the series at a younger audience than previously, often toning down the violence and over-simplifying the shows stories (it’s especially obvious if you take a look at the original Far East iteration of the show). So when news broke that Saban had bought back the rights to the series...

There’s no better way to spend the holidays than by watching people in suits battle large rubber monsters, both in and out of robots. After all, it’s not really Christmas until you’ve beaten a monster to the edge of submission just to have them re-energize and become 100-stories tall. Perhaps that was the logic behind the Power Rangers Samurai Christmas DVD release Christmas Together, Friends Forever, which pulls Christmas episodes from three different chapters in Power Rangers history including Samurai, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and Power Rangers Zeo. Let’s be clear: none of these are exactly brilliant television, and all of them are corny at the after school special level, but if you’ve been following the Power Rangers series through its many iterations, it might just prove to be a nice little bit of holiday-themed nostalgia.
