No matter how dire the circumstances, Batman is known for his unwavering “no-kill” code, which forbids him from taking a life in DC Comics. However, in Injustice God Among Us: Year Three, Bruce Wayne breaks his own rule to protect one of his dearest friends, Superman.
As everyone knows, the Joker from DC is one of the vilest, vicious, and most depraved supervillains. Nevertheless, Superman is restricted by the same code that keeps Batman from killing the Clown Prince of Crime. For similar reasons, both DC superheroes have strong moral codes prohibiting them from killing their enemies. Yet, in recent years, DC comic writers have endeavored to differentiate between the two.

Late A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last House on the Left and Scream director Wes Craven was responsible for some of the most iconic movies, characters and moments in horror cinema, but he was also behind his share of duds, and one of 'em is getting a remake.
Craven didn't actually direct 2006's The Breed, but he was a producer on the film, and recruited his A New Nightmare assistant director Nick Mastandrea to helm.
The movie focuses on two brothers and their friends who travel to an island cabin they inherited from their recently deceased uncle for a relaxing weekend getaway. The group is then besieged by genetically enhanced dogs bred to kill via an abandoned training facility on the Island.
The Breed was not well-received (to say the least), earning a 27% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, Variety reports that brothers Nathan and Griff Furst are set to direct a remake,...

Amazon is heading to Alabama.
The streamer is developing a television adaptation of Joshilyn Jackson’s novel, Gods in Alabama.
The book, first published in 2015, revolves around a young lawyer who promised God that she’d never return home to Alabama but is forced to go back to the South to defend a high school classmate accused of a murder she knows something about. In returning home, she’ll confront a simmering stew of family conflict, a hometown that hates her for defending the alleged killer of a local hero and all of the ghosts of her past.
Amazon describes the potential series, which is in development at the streamer, as a “soapy, legal thriller that is steeped in deep Southern charm.”
Kathryn Price and Nichole Millard, the writing duo whose credits include CBS’ True Lies and Bull, created the series and will serve as showrunners and exec producers.

The disappointment that comes from seeing a great film do poorly at the box office almost certainly never goes away. One of the most important Batman storytellers of all time, Bruce Timm, does not seem to understand how good Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is.
Timm, who produced Batman: The Animated Series and co-directed Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, discussed how much he “cringe[s]” at the beloved animated 1993 Batman flick in an interview from last year. He noted that while the 1990s were a major decade for animation in motion pictures, the Kevin Conroy starrer was initially intended to be a television special.

Bruce Timm is one of the greatest creators of comic book media in recent history. The creator joined a long line of comic book and superhero legends when he created Batman: The Animated Series. However, there was one character, created by Jack Kirby, that the legendary artist had some beef with: Thor.

Speaking with The Jack Kirby Collector, Timm opened up about why he liked drawing so many characters that are created by Jack Kirby wailing on Thor. This stems from a preference that Kevin Alteri, the director that Timm was working with at the time, had when it came to the character.

Batman and Superman have a long-standing rivalry in the DC comics. Often found at different ends of an opinion, the two superheroes rarely seem to see eye to eye when it comes to more radical themes. While they have butted heads quite a lot of times, even in the live-action Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the two superheroes have eventually come together when the greater good of the world is involved.
Superman breaks Batman’s back in Injustice: Gods Among Us
But things got messier in one edition of DC Comics, where Superman breaks Batman in the most harrowing way. This leads Alfred to step up and defend the Wayne family, and as he does so, the Man of Steel suffers one of his most brutal defeats.

Holy release date shift, Batman! Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2 is sticking to the shadows a bit longer after moving from its October 3, 2025 release date to October 2, 2026! If you’re looking to throw a batarang at the culprit, aim for the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
While this news is disappointing, the shift gives James Gunn’s Superman film room to leap over the box office in a single bound when it flies into theaters on July 11, 2025. Double-dipping on two of DC’s Trinity heroes would have been nice, but spacing them out is likely better in the long run. Matt Reeves’ The Batman is not a part of Gunn and Safran’s “Gods and Monsters” initiative, but it’s all the same for plenty of audience members. Not everyone keeps their finger on the pulse of how the Dcu is structured.

Villa Collina, a Mediterranean Revival masterpiece nestled in the hills of Los Feliz in the shadow of Griffith Observatory, has a historic Hollywood pedigree stretching back almost a century. Designed by architect Henry Harwood Hewitt in 1927, the four-bedroom, four-bath estate was built for Olympian Clement E. Smoot, who was part of the 1904 gold medal-winning golfing team. A later resident was Artur Rodzinski, famed Polish conductor of the LA Philharmonic.
But Villa Collina became famous as the home of legendary English director James Whale in the 1930s. Whale reportedly lived at the Villa with his longtime partner David Lewis, despite rampant homophobia in Hollywood. According to Behind the Screen: How Gays and Lesbians Shaped Hollywood, when agent Phil Berg asked Whale if he “had” to live with Lewis, Whale replied: “I don’t have to. I want to.”

For anyone out there who might be confused about the future of DC Universe projects, James Gunn completely understands the challenge of keeping apprised on the latest developments.
Gunn, who stepped in last year as co-head of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, took to Threads on Wednesday to address fan questions about development for the new DC slate now that the writers strike has ended. This included responding to an inquiry from months ago regarding whether actors from previous DC projects will reprise their roles, in addition to whether the new universe will commence with Superman: Legacy, which has Gunn directing David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. But up first is the animated series Creature Commandos.
“Nothing is canon until Creature Commandos next year — a sort of aperitif to the Dcu — & then a deeper dive into the universe with Superman: Legacy after that,” Gunn replied.

Like “shifting an entire studio’s heirarchy” level of craziness. From reported verbal abuse to alleged threatening of careers to a miserable Ben Affleck, there’s a lot of bad that came from Warner’s 2017 film. So today on DC Revisited, we’re diving into the moustache removing and tone lightening of Joss Whedon’s Justice League.
If you think other films in the DC lineup have had controversy then you haven’t seen anything yet because the stuff that goes on here is absolutely nuts. But I should state outright: we’ll deal with the Snyder Cut and all of that surrounded that in a future video. For now, we’ll just focus on the original filming period,...

DC Studios co-boss James Gunn knows something about making superhero movies. Still, he’s aware that we’re reaching a saturation point with the super-powered genre that could make rebuilding the Dcu an uphill battle. During an interview on the Inside of You podcast, Gunn agreed that there are too many superhero movies and television shows. Choosing his words carefully, Gunn says the new DC Universe won’t “overextend” itself with him and Peter Safran at the helm.
“We’re going to be very careful with the product that we put out and making sure everything is as good as it can possibly be,” Gunn says about rebooting the Dcu under his Gods and Monsters initiative. While recognizing that less is sometimes more regarding the amount of content a studio can produce under the superhero banner, Gunn says DC will only use more active storytelling in the future.

Andy Muschietti's "The Flash" is almost upon us. Only two more weeks until the movie is out in theaters and it has already garnered very strong word of mouth from the CinemaCon screening as well as advance fan and press screenings. The studio has very rudely not shown me the movie yet, so I can't join in on the quality discussion, but I can say that I'm very excited by all the positive word thus far.
I'm particularly excited to see what they do with this Supergirl business. I'm not very familiar with Sasha Calle's other work, but I'd be lying if I wasn't immediately enamored by her when they announced her casting by showing her reaction to hearing the news that she was cast during a Zoom meeting with Muschietti. Her obvious passion for the character and excitement at the opportunity was contagious and I was instantly...

NBC’s coverage of the Xxiv Olympic Winter Games and Fox’s FIFA World Cup telecasts were the big winners Monday night at this year’s 44th annual Sports Emmy Awards, winning three Emmys each. ESPN, meanwhile, was the night’s biggest winner among outlets, pulling 13 Emmys.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded this year’s Sports Emmys at a ceremony at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. Bryant Gumbel will receive the lifetime achievement award for his role in sports journalism.
The Sports Emmys took place even as the writers strike has led to the postponement of NATAS’ premiere Daytime Emmys telecast next month. “While we gather together, other parts of our television community stand divided tonight,” Adam Sharp, president & CEO of NATAS said during the ceremony. “You’ll note most of the typically scripted elements of our ceremony have been pared back in acknowledgment of,...

The Film Gods observed the release of Jason Statham Takes On A Prehistoric Megalodon With His Bare Hands, aka "The Meg," back in 2018 and saw that it was good. Then, after years of waiting for updates, the Film Gods finally deigned to give their blessing to the production of what would eventually be called "Meg 2: The Trench" ... and we will see that this will most likely be good, too, especially if that early, dino-chomping footage screened during CinemaCon is any indication.
Now, we're getting our first real look at the utter madness in store for us as Warner Bros. has seen fit to release the official trailer for "Meg 2." Not only does this sequel bring back Jason Statham as everyone's favorite rescue diver/action hero extraordinaire Jonas Taylor — I absolutely had to look up his character's name and I'm just now realizing how funny it is that "Jonas" is...

It is a special one for the artist for more than one reason. Not only is the album her ode to goddess Saraswati, but it also came about at a time when the world was full of uncertainty.
Yes, talking about her album Raja Kumari shared that ‘The Bridge’ is a pandemic baby. The theme of the album is the journey from ancient to future, West back to the East, establishing the message that music is the bridge between us and god.

The narratives commonly known as wuxia stories in Chinese literature are one of the oldest surviving literary traditions, with their origins dating back to 300 BC. A typical wuxia story consists of a protagonist from humble origins who climbs up the social ladder through his own self-earned skills or those bestowed upon him, displays great feats of martial arts, either practical or mystical or both, and follows the ways of Chinese Xia traditions—a code of righteousness comparable to the Bushido code of Japanese Samurai or the chivalry of European Knights. Wuxia stories often range from the ancient to the medieval era and consist of fictional, quasi-historical characters with a limited amount of Buddhist and supernatural elements, which differs from the more over-the-top treatment of religion and mythology in Xianxia stories, which are essentially complete fantasies.

[This story contains spoilers for Shazam! Fury of the Gods.]
After joining the Dceu in 2017, Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg is ready to hang up his cape.
With the second chapter of the Shazamily’s adventures now in theaters, the Swedish filmmaker is finally able to open up about one of the highlights of his entire experience. Of course, that would be Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman cameo, which he actually directed remotely from home. The chance to properly include a member of the Justice League also made up for Henry Cavill’s Superman cameo that didn’t pan out on 2019’s Shazam!, resulting in a headless Superman cameo.
But because of that prior disappointment, Sandberg still expected the worst to happen with Gadot.

The following article contains mild spoilers for "Shazam! Fury of the Gods."
In "Shazam! Fury of the Gods," Lucy Liu plays Kalypso, one of the daughters of the titan Atlas along with Helen Mirren's Hespera and Rachel Zegler's Anthea. Kalypso and her sisters are furious that the Wizard (Djimon Hounsou) has taken the power of the gods and given it to children, locking them away in their own realm. As we learn in the film, they've been freed from that realm because Shazam (Asher Angel and Zachary Levi) threw away the broken staff. Now that they're out, they want revenge.
In Greek mythology, the daughters of Atlas (often called the Hesperides) guard a tree with golden apples, assisted by a dragon named Ladon with 100 heads. He's a little different in the film, being made of wood (with only one head) and able to blast blue fire and use the power of fear.

Amazon Prime has released an awesome new promo spot for their upcoming hardcore superhero series The Boys. This promo focuses on the character played by Karen Fukuhara, who is known as The Female, and as you’ll see she a brutal and deadly badass superhero killer!

Leading Korean studio Lotte Entertainment will produce a Korean-language remake of Mexican comedy blockbuster “Instructions Not Included.” The group has partnered with Lionsgate-affiliated Globalgate Entertainment, which is developing local-language versions of the Eugenio Derbez-directed picture.
“In addition to distribution rights, our sales and acquisitions businesses, we also see the growing importance of remake deals and international co-productions,” said Justin Choi, Gm of Lotte’s international marketing and distribution department. “The demand is growing.”
After a couple of years in a slump, Lotte has returned to the forefront of Korean cinema, propelled by the sensational pan-Asian success of “Along With the Gods: The Two Words” in 2017. Its simultaneously produced sequel, “Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days,” was also huge hit this year. It earned $90.8 million in Korea alone.

Mankind found a way to overpower its Gods in Tom Paton’s throwback sci-fi horror Black Site. After discovering that Elder Gods were in-hiding and draining our planet of its most precious resource (people) for millennia, humanity found ancient incantations to bind them and ultimately deport them back from whence they came with no chance of return. It’s the type of knowledge that could disenfranchise the masses with proof of our “creators” being nothing more than a malignant species from far away that craves our souls as food. So those in the know reinforce the lie by building so-called “black sites” with the off-grid capability of facilitating the incarceration and expulsion of these nightmare fuel Lovecraftian monsters. And right now one is preparing to do exactly that.
One man’s enemy is another’s salvation, though. If enough people see Elder Gods as their makers, they’ll surely sacrifice themselves if asked.

Exclusive: American Gods has started work on its second season and according to Neil Gaiman, they are ready to rock – literally.
As you can see from the behind-the-scenes video above and the photo here, Ian McShane, Ricky Whittle, Yetide Badaki, Orlando Jones and more members the self- described God Squad have began production this month on the sophomore run of the Starz series at Wisconsin’s famed House on the Rock. Featured in Gaiman’s 2001 award-winning mythological novel on which the drama is based and glimpsed briefly via signage at the end of Season 1, the real-life Badger State tourist attraction is a major player in the tale along with McShane’s perpetually shifty Mr. Wednesday and Whittle’s Shadow Moon.
With its premiere directed by Hannibal and Star Trek Discovery alum Chris Byrne, the eight-episode second season of American Gods is expected to air in 2019, as Whittle says in the Bts clip.
