After more then a decade as his agency, sources tell Deadline Adam Driver has parted ways with Gersh as his agency. While this would make him one of the bigger free agents in town when it comes to representation insiders add he will seek no additional reps with his attorney Robert Offer being his primary dealmaker.
The move to go with only a lawyer is rare but after several years of staying very busy including a 2021 that included Annette and The Last Duel and his next film already lined up, he is in no need for an additional rep. Driver is currently in prep for his next film Ferrari, a new biopic from Michael Mann that will shoot later this year. Driver was most recently seen in House of Gucci.

Will Arnett will replace Armie Hammer in Taika Waititi’s “Next Goal Wins.”
Hammer’s exit comes after the actor was accused by multiple women of sexual assault. He denies the claims and says any sexual relationships were consensual, but the Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation. In the wake of the scandal, Hammer was fired from several films and series, including the Jennifer Lopez rom-com “Shotgun Wedding” and a Paramount Plus show about the behind-the-scenes action on “The Godfather.” Hammer also exited the upcoming Broadway production of “The Minutes.” He will appear in the Agatha Christie adaptation “Death on the Nile,” which opens in February.
“Next Goal Wins” is based on the 2015 documentary of the same name, which follows the true story of Dutch coach Thomas Rongen, who attempts the nearly impossible task of turning the American Samoa soccer team from perennial losers into winners. Waititi also...

Exclusive: Deadline has learned that 7x Primetime Emmy nominee Will Arnett has stepped in for Armie Hammer on Searchlight Pictures’ soccer comedy Next Goal Wins directed by Oscar winner Taika Waititi.
From what we understand, Waititi held reshoots and Hammer wasn’t available. The role that Hammer was playing, which Arnett took over, was that of an executive at the Football Federation American Samoa. The movie follows an infamously terrible American Samoa soccer team, known for a brutal 2001 FIFA match where they lost 31-0. With the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (played by Michael Fassbender) hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around. I also hear that Arnett’s role was developed to be slightly bigger versus Arnett’s which was a cameo.

Fresh off the box office success of “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” Sony Pictures Entertainment has signed an overall producing deal with Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, the team behind the paranormal reboot.
The movie has grossed $115.8 million globally since it opened two weeks ago and helped find a fresh way into a franchise that first launched in 1984. A previous attempt to revive the series in 2016, which found Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones donning proton packs, failed to turn a profit because it cost $144 million to produce. “Afterlife” was made more economically, carrying a $75 million budget.
“Jason is the thing you dream about: a world-class, signature storyteller, visionary filmmaker, and dream producing partner,” said Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group. “Jason and Gil as co-writing partners have a remarkable understanding of commercial quality cinema, and we are thrilled about the upcoming pipeline from these guys.”

Michael Bay and his production company Bay Films have closed a multi-year, first look deal with Sony Pictures to produce film and TV projects, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.
Bay got his first taste of the big budget studio blockbuster when he directed “Bad Boys” with Sony back in 1995, as well as the follow-up film “Bad Boys II” in 2003. He even made a cameo in Sony’s recent reunion sequel of the franchise that opened this January, “Bad Boys For Life.”
Up next Bay will direct Sony’s “Black Five,” an ensemble drama based on his own original idea. Ehren Kruger, who wrote three of Bay’s “Transformers” movies, is writing the script for the film.

Exclusive: Michael Bay has set his Bay Films to a multiyear first look deal with Sony Pictures to produce both film and TV projects. The deal was being worked on and was mostly done in January, before the town shut down. Last week saw the first fresh film auction with the Ryan Gosling-attached adaptation of Project Hail Mary, the novel by The Martian author Andy Weir which MGM won. This is the first overall film/TV deal to commence since then, as hopefully the business begins to show signs of life.
Deal puts Bay back at the studio where he made his directorial debut on 1995’s Bad Boys. He reprised as director of the sequel, and in the most recent installment, Bad Boys For Life, you can glimpse him in a tip of the hat cameo as a wedding Mc.
