Matty Healy has apologised to Ice Spice over a podcast interview in which he and the hosts mocked Chinese and Inuit people in relation to the rapper.
The 1975 frontman came under fire for comments he made during an episode of the Adam Friedland Show podcast in February.
At one point in the podcast, Healy mentioned US rapper Ice Spice, whom he claimed he tried to message on Instagram.
Healy, Friedland and comedian Nick Mullen then appeared to confuse her heritage by referring to her as Inuit and Chinese, imitating and mocking the accents of each.
Mullen called the American rapper an “Inuit Spice Girl” and a “chubby Chinese lady” .
As reported by Rolling Stone, Healy, 34, addressed the comments during a 1975 concert in New Zealand.

The Pop Group’s former frontman Mark Stewart has died. He was 62.
Stewart’s death was announced by his label Mute on Friday (21 April) in a tweet that reads: “We’ve lost such a dear friend, please respect the privacy of Mark’s Family and friends at this time.”
In a separate statement per The Guardian, they said: “In honour of this original, fearless, sensitive, artistic and funny man, think for yourself and question everything. The world was changed because of Mark Stewart, it will never be the same without him.”
A cause of death has yet to be announced.
Formed in 1972 by Stewart, guitarist John Waddington, bassist Simon Underwood, guitarist/saxophonist Gareth Sager, and drummer Bruce Smith, the British rock band have been considered pioneers of the late Seventies post-punk movement.

Former Newsround star Lizo Mzimba made an unexpected “on stage” feature at Coachella over the weekend.
During the desert festival’s opening weekend, the BBC presenter was projected on a jumbo screen during UK artist Jai Paul’s solo Coachella debut on Saturday 15 April.
Midway through the songwriter’s set, an old photo of Mzimba from his Newsround days appeared behind him.
“Never ever imagined that a picture of me from my Newsround days would end up being projected on a huge screen at Coachella at the weekend,” the entertainment correspondent tweeted.
Alongside a screenshot taken from a recording of the concert, Mzimbo added: “Very honoured and grateful. Thank you @Jai_Paul.”
Several fans joyously responded in the comments, with one writing: “No way! Please tell me the back story of this.”
“Inspired a generation!” praised a second. “How? Why? Wonderful but there are Big questions,” another said.

Claire Foy holds Queen Elizabeth II close to her heart. The Crown star bowed down to the Queen, who she played on the Netflix show, following the monarch's passing on Sept. 8. "I think that she was an incredible monarch," Claire told the BBC's Lizo Mzimba at the Toronto Film Festival. "She united people and she was a massive symbol of continuity and dignity and grace." She added, "I'm very honoured to have been a teeny tiny, small part of her story." After the second season, the role of the Queen has played by Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton, with the latter portraying the royal in the upcoming fifth season. On the day of Her...

Prince Philip’s funeral was watched by a peak audience of more than 13 million on the BBC and ITV in the UK, as the Duke of Edinburgh was laid to rest during an intimate service in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Some 82.8% of the available television viewing population were glued to BBC One and ITV’s coverage between 3Pm and 3:15Pm local time, which was just after the Duke of Edinburgh was carried into St George’s Chapel and his funeral commenced.
That peak of 13M will have been higher once you factor in the audience on news channels, including BBC News, Sky News, and CNN International. Sky One, for example, simulcast Sky News’ coverage for 50,000 viewers at 3Pm. Meanwhile, special news bulletins on Channel 4 and Channel 5 were watched by 1.2M at the same time.

The Queen’s Birthday Honours List, which recognizes the achievements of a wide-range of UK figures, has been postponed from its traditional June date this year due to the coronavirus.
The awards, ranging from knighthoods to MBEs, were scheduled to be handed out on the 94-year-old royal’s birthday on the second Saturday in June, which this year falls on June 12.
Instead, they will now be pushed back until the autumn, according to BBC journo Lizo Mzimba who took to twitter to state that Pm Boris Johnson had confirmed the news in a statement to Parliament. “The list and future lists will include individuals being recognized for efforts related to Covid-19,” he wrote. UK paper The Mirror also confirmed the Pm’s statement, reporting that he said the list must be published “at the appropriate time”.

As one of the most successful franchises of all time, it’s somewhat surprising that Harry Potter‘s foray into video games is an avenue that Warner Bros. has rarely explored.
Excluding a short stint of video game tie-ins to capitalize on the film series’ success, the only major releases in recent years have been on mobile. The most recent of these, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, is an augmented reality affair much in the same vein as developer Niantic’s smash hit Pokémon Go that lets players pick their own wizarding house and battle fantastic beasts (pun intended) in the open world. It’s a neat, if slightly derivative, gameplay experience that Harry Potter fans can enjoy while on the go, but what of the as-yet untapped tripe-a games market?
Warner Bros. is certainly no stranger to such projects, having poured money into the likes of Rocksteady’s Arkham series...

After becoming a huge hit for Fox in the U.S. across three seasons, The Masked Singer finally landed in the UK on Saturday — and it performed well for commercial broadcaster ITV.
The celebrity singing contest, in which stars are disguised in elaborate costumes so that a panel of judges and the audience at home have to guess their identity, premiered with 5.5M viewers between 7Pm and 8.30Pm.
It was the highest-rated show of the day on any channel, peaking with 6.5M as the identity of The Butterfly was revealed, according to Barb figures provided by overnights.tv.
Based on a format originally created by Korean broadcaster Mbc and made by fledging Scottish producer Bandicoot, The Masked Singer beat the second season debut of Simon Cowell’s show The Greatest Dancer on BBC One, which was watched by 3.2M in the same slot. This was well below its first season debut of 4.7M.

A month or so ago, people were beginning to get the knives out for Jodie Whittaker’s debut as the Thirteenth Doctor in Doctor Who. Right-wing British tabloids claimed that ratings had “plunged,” explaining that viewers were being turned off by the belief that the show had become painfully politically correct. And of course, the less savory elements of the Doctor Who fandom seized upon this as validation for their stale arguments that the Doctor should only ever be played by a man.
Well, it’s looking as though Whittaker (and new showrunner Chris Chibnall) are going to have the last laugh now, as the average viewership for the full ten-episodes of season 11 is in and it’s 7.7 million viewers. These figures include those who watched the show as it was being broadcast, as well as those who watched it on catch-up up to seven days later.

Immediately after the airing of the season 11 finale on Sunday, the BBC dropped the bombshell that Doctor Who will return for its next outing…in 2020. We’d heard rumblings about this before, as well as reports that it wasn’t true, but the realization that we’ll be without the show for so long still came as a disappointment to fans.
So, what’s the reason for the delay? Well, a BBC reporter has claimed that it’s due to how difficult a show like Doctor Who is to make. Entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba has revealed that, though there is “a recognition that fans might want a series every single year,” that’s very tricky to achieve because “Doctor Who has almost uniquely complex filming requirements and a lengthy post-production period.”

The upcoming PG-13 cut of Deadpool 2 seems like a strange venture, to say the least.
As a character who’s known for bloody spectacles and foul-mouthed wisecracking, the idea of a child-friendly Wade Wilson film just sounds downright oxymoronic. And seeing how the PG-13 rating of the upcoming Venom has proven enough to dampen the enthusiasm of audiences – and critics – it’s hard to see how there’s much to be gained from this idea.
Still, for better or worse, a softer take on the Merc with a Mouth is coming to cinemas later this year and we now know what we can call it. The BBC’s Lizo Mzimba has the scoop, taking to Twitter to report the following:
“A tiny exclusive. Have heard the planned title for the Christmas Deadpool movie is The Deadpool Before Christmas.”

"Footage" from a rumored Harry Potter RPG has sent the internet into a frenzy.
A rapid series of rumors and leaks suggest that a major new Harry Potter RPG is in development.
It all started when users on Reddit, ResetEra, and other online forums began sharing what looked to be footage from a new, previously unannounced Harry Potter game. The footage showcased a young wizard roaming the halls of Hogwarts and doing battle with various foes. While the "footage" was captured via a shaky, and seemingly secret, recording, the game looked beautiful and appeared to be somewhat far along in the development process. Of course, that's somewhat strange to hear considering that there's been no word regarding such a major new Harry Potter project in development.
The video in question was taken down by Warner Bros. not long after its initial upload. However, that didn't stop fans...

Today brought with it the first teaser trailer for this fall’s eleventh season of Doctor Who. At only 40 seconds long, it was a brief, silent affair that nonetheless introduced us to each of the new Tardis team: Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill), Graham (Bradley Walsh) and, of course, the Thirteenth Doctor herself, Jodie Whittaker.
In particular, the promo promised that the Doctor will still have her old puckish sense of humor in this new incarnation. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know that the structure of the trailer has the time traveller manipulating time to play some pranks on her companions. This includes stealing Ryan’s food, giving Yasmin a fresh pizza and finally swapping Graham’s newspaper for an issue of The Beano, the beloved British children’s comic.
Let’s focus on that last part, for a moment, though. It’s extremely easy to miss,...

Back in October of 2014, Marvel held a press conference where they announced an ambitious slate of nine films. Perhaps most notable in this slate was the fact that it consisted of not one, but two Avengers films. At the time, they called Avengers: Infinity Wars Part I and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2.
In the time since then, things have changed. Marvel Studios has changed a few movies. They’ve removed Inhumans, added Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man and the Wasp, and they changed the titles of the two Avengers films. No longer would they be numbered and under the same name. The first one would be called Avengers: Infinity War, and the second would remain untitled as Avengers 4, until Marvel announced the official title.
As far as the reasoning behind the title, one could say it had to do with Marvel’s realization that films with “Parts” in the title don’t do as well,...

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: beyond Avengers: Infinity War, the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is being kept firmly under lock and key. That includes the title to Avengers 4, while we understand the studio has already staked out three release dates in 2020.
The reason behind that secrecy is simple, of course; Kevin Feige and the Powers That Be want to retain a sense of mystery when it comes to Infinity War, and the Marvel Boss has hinted in the past that the titles of those three 2020 tentpoles include spoilers for everything that has come before – Infinity War in particular. But if a recent quote from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premiere is anything to go by, we may already have a name for Avengers 4. Co-directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord will fire up production on the Han Solo anthology movie in February 2017, according to Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy.

While promoting Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Lizo Mzimba caught up with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and briefly spoke about Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII and the untitled Han Solo film.
First up Kennedy confirmed that the untitled Han Solo film will start shooting in February with Phil Lord and Chris Miller at the helm. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.
Second, when will be seeing anything about Star Wars Episode VIII including a trailer? Kennedy said:
Pretty soon we are giving this (Rogue One) a little bit of breathing room and then probably heading into spring you’ll start to see things”
So we can either see a trailer for Episode VIII with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast or at 2017's Star Wars Celebration which takes place in Orlando. What do you think? Sound off below.

It’s not often that anything escapes the secrecy shields surrounding the Star Wars franchise, even in these leak-happy days. But according to the BBC, which spotted the news on the actor’s Spotlight page, Sherlock veteran Jonathan Aris has been cast in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One.Though the information has since vanished from his page, the Beeb’s Lizo Mzimba took a grab of the site when it was still up, showing Aris (shown above right in Sherlock alongside Rupert Graves) playing someone called Senator Jebel. There has been no official announcement as of yet, so we’re obligated to keep this within the realm of rumour for now (sound the klaxon!) but the Spotlight site, an official source for actors’ bios, isn’t known for running specious information. Star Wars: The Force Awakens has constantly kept us hungry for more and more details about the films, and the debut trailer that popped online a few months back only increased our appetite. We still desperately want to know what all the classic characters have been up to and how the new ones fit in, but we also enjoy the little things. For example. the latest rumor about the film seems to suggest that a certain glass ceiling within the ranks of the Empire will be shattered with the notoriously-inaccurate marksmanship of a Stormtrooper blast. According to BBC journalist Lizo Mzimba on Twitter, a relatively unknown actress named Amybeth Hargreaves will be playing a female Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Let nobody say J.J. Abrams isn't one for diversity! Star Wars: The Force Awakens will give us John Boyega as the first black member of the Imperial Forces, and it looks like it'll give us our first female 'Trooper too. BBC's Lizo Mzimba has uncovered a very interesting cast addition from Spotlight UK, where relatively unknown British actress/model Amybeth Hargreaves is listed as a Stormtrooper. Bit of @StarWars news from @SpotlightUK. Amybeth Hargreaves plays female Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens. http://t.co/2nDnhfSaTM — lizo mzimba (@lizo_mzimba) January 16, 2015 Now obviously without more details, we can't be sure in what capacity she will show up in the film -- but it's unlikely Abrams and co. would cast a female Stormtrooper if they weren't planning on revealing that much to viewers by having her appear without her helmet on. But there is also the possibility that she's actually only...

Mark Hamill has been chatting about re-boarding the Millennium Falcon in Jj Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens...
We're still around 11 months away from the release of Jj Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the film is currently in its extensive post-production phase. The main shoot finished at the end of last year, and so now Abrams has the job of getting his edit right, and weaving in the numerous special effects shots.
Mark Hamill, for one, has been chatting about the film, telling Extra that the Star Wars series "is now in the hands of the generation who were fans".
Chatting in particular about returning to the Millennium Falcon, he added that "yeah, the deja vu of walking onto the Millennium Falcon again and remembering all these details that they've got exactly right from old photographs and old blueprints... I can't describe the feeling.

Happy Friday!
Not the biggest week for Star Wars this January, but what are you going to do? It’s actually funny that it feels like not-a-big-news week when we got a ton of Original Trilogy goodness since we last spoke. Star Wars: Rebels brought Lando back into the fold and Marvel brought us Star Wars #1 on Wednesday: the biggest selling comic of the decade, already.
Let’s talk about Star Wars #1 for a minute, just because I’m excited that potentially 1 million of you read the issue along with me this week. I was very pleased with the direction this is all going in.
First off, it’s great to see Luke between blowing up the Death Star and the Wampa cave. The beginning of Empire Strikes Back starts off great for a serial, but as a continuation of the character arcs that eventually lead to Death Star...

Daniel Craig has photobombed BBC Entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba in a live report.
The James Bond actor was hovering nearby following the announcement of the 24th 007 film's title and cast at Pinewood Studios this morning.
Mzimba was reporting on the casting of Christoph Waltz as a character called Oberhauser when Craig edged sideways into shot, hovering over Mzimba's shoulder.
The reporter was notified by the presenter in the studio, and began interviewing the actor on his feelings ahead of filming beginning on Monday, but Craig would not reveal any details of roles and the film's storyline.
Joining Waltz on Spectre are Léa Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Colour) as Madeleine Swann, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Guardians of the Galaxy's David Bautista as Mr Hinx and Sherlock star Andrew Scott as Denbigh.
Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear will reprise their roles from Skyfall.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens may have wrapped, but BBC journalist Lizo Mzimba has outed another cast member in a recent Tweet. Pleased @JHenwick's in @StarWars VII. Big fan, from Spirit Warriors to Silk. And she's Nymeria Sand in @GameOfThrones next year! — lizo mzimba (@lizo_mzimba) November 26, 2014 Jessica Henwick, 22, is a British actress of Singaporean descent who played the lead role in the BBC TV series Spirit Warriors. She's also appeared in the likes of Obsession: Dark Desires, Silk, and will play one of the "Sand Snakes", Nymeria, in next year's fifth season of Game Of Thrones. Though we don't have any details on who she might be playing in The Force Awakens, there's a good chance it'll be a physical role as Henwick is proficient in Chinese martial art, Wushu. Sounds perfect for some lightsaber-based acrobatics to me, but that remains to me seen of course. Star Wars...

The Woman In Black marks a few firsts. One, it’s the first foray into the gothic ghost story for the revived Hammer, a studio famous for its classic, gory interpretations of Dracula and Frankenstein. Two, it marks the cinema debut for Susan Hill’s 1983 novel of the same name, having already conquered the West End as the second longest-running stage play in its history.
Three, this is the first post-Potter outing for Daniel Radcliffe, who stars as Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer haunted by both the recent death of his wife and the terrifying ghost of the film’s title. Having already made a successful debut weekend at the Us, The Woman In Black arrives in UK cinemas this Friday,...

Doctor Who fans, if you thought you'd seen the last of Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), you were wrong. We haven't seen the last of them... yet. Series 7 will mark the last outing for the couple as the Doctor's companions; they'll be replaced by someone new entirely, showrunner Steven Moffat says.
“Amy and Rory will leave ‘heartbreakingly’ during next series and The Doctor will get a new companion," tweeted BBC Entertainment reporter Lizo Mzimba. “Steven Moffat says plenty of Amy and Rory in next series, but they will leave ‘heartbreakingly’. New companion not yet cast."
That wasn't the only tweet regarding the departure of the Ponds. The official Doctor Who twitter made a similar announcement: Steven Moffat announces ‘The final days of the Ponds are coming during the next series. Then the Doctor will meet a new friend.

With the Harry Potter saga coming to an end, lifelong Hogwarts fan Charlie Lyne felt it necessary to rewatch a decade's worth of Quidditch, owls and magic in one sitting. Expecto delirium!
I was eight in 1999 when Newsround presenter Lizo Mzimba informed me that Harry Potter was coming to the big screen. It seemed like a silly idea – why would you make a book into a film? – but just over two years later I would nonetheless find myself at a south London cinema watching the first entry in the highest grossing film series of all time.
Over the next 10 years I had the fortune of never being more than a year younger or older than the boy wizard, placing myself firmly in the target audience of a franchise whose tone matured just as quickly as its child stars. Now, with the worldwide release of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 fast approaching,...

Despite the order going through for a Christmas special and thirteen more episodes, it looks like at least several episodes from the seventh season of "Doctor Who" will be pushed back into 2013.
io9 reports that Danny Cohen, Controller of BBC One, spoke at an event and said there won't be a full series of Doctor Who in 2012". Instead, there will be a "special run" for the show's 50th anniversary in 2013.
Cohen joked the delay was due to Steven Moffat's commitments on "Sherlock", currently in production on its second season of three telemovies. The BBC's Lizo Mzimba later denied the claim.
How many of next year's episodes will be deferred into 2013 is unknown at this point. The move raises questions over what form the show's future will take. Could the back half of the seventh season become several specials and the delay allows Moffat to get a bigger budget for them?...

'Doctor Who' will not broadcast a full series in 2012. BBC One controller Danny Cohen has confirmed the sci-fi show will be downsized next year, which has led to speculation that four one hour-long specials are in line to replace the 13-part series in 2012. However, BBC entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba had revealed the season could be split between 2012 and 2013. He tweeted: "Bit of confusion, to summarise: no Full 13 episode series of Dr Who in 2012. So some episodes will still go out in 2012. Remainder in 2013. "No idea yet how many episodes in total in 2013. But, hey, it's...

If only we had a Tardis and could pop ahead to see what we’ll get, Doctor Who wise, in the next year or so. But we don’t. So today the Twitter was all abuzz with fear and loathing and dread and suchlike, all because one guy tweeted that another guy said there wouldn’t be a full season of the show in 2012. Or maybe it was all a joke. It all started when BBC1 controller Danny Cohen said something about Doctor Who in a speech he gave earlier today. The Guardian’s writeup on the speech focuses on Cohen’s comments on EastEnders, a soap opera that features zero Time Lords. It was journalist Lizo Mzimba who tweeted about what Cohen said, but this thirdhand explanation is the closest we’ve gotten to Cohen’s actual words:...

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch has more than just an interesting name and smart good looks. His acting resume includes the BBC drama Hawking, for which he portrayed the infamous Stephen Hawking in 2004, and the role of Sherlock Holmes in the Steven Moffat created 2010 BBC TV series, Sherlock. What’s next for the actor? How about a visit to The Shire?
There was a recent Tweet from Lizo Mzimba, a London-based journalist, which read thus:
“Martin Freeman just said Benedict Cumberbatch will be in The Hobbit.”
No confirmation yet, but color we at BoomTron, quite interested! When we learn more, you will, too.
Of course there are plenty of actors who are confirmed to appear in The Hobbit, Peter Jackson’s prequel and return to Tolkien’s Middle Earth.
Cate Blanchett will be there, Ian McKellen returns, Saoirse Ronan is on board, Lee Pace has signed the dotted line, and there be a Conan of sorts!

It seems like Peter Jackson must be fond of the acclaimed BBC series Sherlock. Not only did he cast its Watson (Martin Freeman) as Bilbo, but word has just come in that his co-star, Benedict Cumberbatch - Sherlock Holmes himself – has joined the film.
The news first leaked when BBC reporter Lizo Mzimba spoke to Freeman, and the actor revealed his co-star’s involvement. His casting was meant to be something of a secret, but this has obviously been compromised. Speaking to TheDigitalSpy (via RopeofSilicon), the actor said “I knew I was a big mouth, I didn’t know how much of a big mouth, and I’ve ruined everything. And now I might not have a job to go back to!”

A UK press screening of the two-part premiere of the upcoming "Doctor Who" sixth season took place Monday night and early reviews have been stellar - citing it as a far darker, more complex season opener than any before it - one which throws in mysteries and revelations from the get go and quite a few of them won't be solved until later in the season.
Asked about the new season's direction, show runner Steven Moffat tells the Beeb that "we've done the rollercoaster, now we're on the ghost train... Last year we reassured you – this year, to hell with that, we're going to worry the hell out of you."
The series long thread "will be a bigger player this year. More than hints and whispers – we're barely 10 minutes into episode one before our heroes face a dilemma that they'll be staring at months from now. And there will be no easy answers.

Irish born acting legend Michael Gambon has just been announced by the BBC as playing a major role in the 2010 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special. Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins will also feature in the episode.
The episode is to be titled 'Father Who?' and is to be a a twist on A Christmas Carol tweeted BBC entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba.
Showrunner Steve Moffat said on the Christmas episode:
"Michael Gambon is as distinguished an actor as I can imagine and the fact that he was Dumbledore means that he is already know to millions of children,"
"Oh, we're going for broke with this one. It's all your favourite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And The Doctor. And a honeymoon. And... oh, you'll see. I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything.
"I was laughing madly as I typed along to Christmas songs in April.

Speculation is continuing to materialise, in true Tardis style, that a new Doctor Who movie starring David Tennant is soon to be announced.
Many fans are expecting the news to come at this month's San Diego Comic-Con.
David Tennant and Doctor Who lead writer and executive producer Russell T Davies will be at the massive sci-fi convention on July 26, along with executive producer Julie Gardner and director Euros Lyn.
Tennant is to appear in three remaining TV specials before his character regenerates into the 11th Doctor Matt Smith, with Steven Moffat taking over from Davies as showrunner.
But it's widely thought that 38-year-old Tennant would return to the role for the big screen.
Long-gestating plans for a movie adaptation of the hit sci-fi series have gained credence over the past few months.
Back in April, Tennant told the Sunday Times he had been offered a sci-fi project he was unable to discuss.

Word on the street is that the whip will crack yet again with a followup to Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
