Storyline

On a school trip to a museum, Bo, her younger sister Jen, Vicky, Trix and Martin - five ordinary kids from London - are transported to an ancient Chinese Spirit World where they find themselves suddenly transformed into Spirit Warriors, each with their own unique spirit power. With the help of their mentor Shen, a Chinese water dragon, they must use their new-found skills to find 12 legendary spirit pieces before the evil warlord Li and his henchman Hwang can get their hands on them. If our heroes succeed they'll save the universe - and Bo's mum. If our heroes fail, the universe is doomed! Written by Anon

Deserves a children's BAFTA
22 February 2010 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I stumbled upon this show last week, and since then have been addicted! The relationship between Bo (Jessica Henwick) and Jen (Alicia Lai), is so well played, it reminds me of my own love/hate relationships with my siblings. And the chemistry between Trix (Gilles Geary) and Vicky (Lil Simz?) is very skilfully played. This series is absolutely delightful, and visually spectacular. I really do think that this series has set a new standard for British children's television, which has been slightly lacking recently. It is great to finally see some British Asians on the television - and in a LEAD role too! This is a small step forward in bringing some cultural diversity to our screens. Definitely worthy of a children's BAFTA - and I will be very mad if this doesn't get picked up for a 2nd season!!
