Zendaya is eying her next project: directing an episode of “Euphoria.”
The Emmy winner told Vogue Italia that she was actually supposed to helm Season 2, Episode 6, titled “A Thousand Little Trees of Blood,” for the hit HBO series. However, she didn’t have enough time to prepare as she was also acting in the episode.
“It’s funny. I was actually supposed to direct episode 6, but then I had to act in it,” Zendaya explained. “I didn’t have enough time, so unfortunately, I wasn’t able to this time around. I wanted to have enough time to do it the right way. So, next season probably.”
She certainly has had plenty of inspiration working with “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson on pandemic feature film “Malcolm & Marie,” as well as collaborating with Denis Villeneuve for “Dune” and its sequel “Dune: Part Two.” The actress is teaming up with Luca Guadagnino...

Gigi Hadid just did her "Melania Trump impression" #AMAs pic.twitter.com/AYJTMhvCCx - Jessica Goodman (@jessgood) November 21, 2016 Jay Pharoah may be known for his hilarious celebrity impersonations, but it was Gigi Hadid who really stole the stage at the American Music Awards on Sunday night. As the cohosts took to the stage for their opener, the model gave her best Melania Trump impersonation, and she kind of nailed it. Not only did she get the voice down, but she also perfected Melania's facial expressions. Here's hoping the rest of the night will be filled with even more moments like this.

Many fatherhood comedies feature a hard-edged old man who’s tougher than he needs to be, but producer Shawn Levy has picked up a story about a new dad who needs to grow a pair.
Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment production company and Fox 2000 have acquired the upcoming book Man Made by Joel Stein (out May 15), about a guy trying to learn how to be a man so he can be a better role model for his infant son.
The struggles of parenting have been a favorite subject of the Night at the Museum and Real Steel filmmaker, though Levy will Not be directing this one.

It would seem that Tony Scott is a bit jealous of his brother getting so many headlines. Earlier today, of course, it was announced that Ridley Scott will be helming a reboot of Blade Runner, one of films that launched the filmmakers career, and a few minutes ago producer Andrew Kosove spilled a few details about the project's background and schedule. Not to be outdone, the younger brother has now attached himself to a new project and it's a pretty big one. Deadline reports that Tony Scott is now in talks with Warner Bros. to helm the remake of Sam Peckinpah's 1969 western classic The Wild Bunch. Discussions about a remake first came up in January following the departure of executive Jessica Goodman. After Goodman left, all of her in-development projects, including The Wild Bunch, were distributed to other executives. While it could end up being Scott's next film, he...

I know, I know. “How can they remake The Wild Bunch?” I don’t know, because it’s old and the younger kids won’t see “old” movies. But the Sam Peckinpah classic is one of many films Warner Bros. is touting into remake land, which also include Lethal Weapon (here) and Westworld, the campy 1973 sci-fi film.
THR broke this. “Those are some of the few high-profile titles now getting a new lease on life at Warner Bros. due to the year-end departure of longtime studio executive Jessica Goodman. During her 13-year tenure, the executive vp oversaw such projects as Watchmen, Training Day and the upcoming Green Lantern. Since her departure, the studio’s top brass has reassigned her portfolio among several other execs.
The properties will now get fresh and hungry eyes — and talent agents are already chatting up the potential projects and listing clients they can pitch for directing or writing gigs.

Are any films safe from Hollywood's reboot hysteria? It doesn't seem like it. I've been pretty vocal in my dislike for the past few years' obsession with rebooting, remaking or creating sequels for every quasi-successful film made over the past half a century, but recently studio executives have reached new lows.
Somehow the Weinstein Company and Miramax thought it was a good idea to create sequels to films like "Shakespeare in Love," "Clerks" and "Rounders" (still scratching our heads over those), and now Warner Bros. is focusing its attention on rebooting some of its more successful films from the 1960s, '70s and '80s. If only they could reboot Mel Gibson's career as easily as they're planning to reboot "Lethal Weapon."
Yep, that's right, a "Lethal Weapon" reboot could soon be in the works. This news comes at us after WB executive Jessica Goodman departed the studio after 13 years.

Warner Bros. is ramping up development on its remake slate with such titles as Lethal Weapon, The Wild Bunch, Westworld, The Dirty Dozen, Tarzan and Oh, God!.
According to the trades, the studio’s new priority on remakes comes after the departure of Warner executive Jessica Goodman at the end of 2010. Warner Bros. is now reorganizing her portfolio of projects, which will be getting new leases on life.
The Lethal Weapon remake, which I am torn, is the first project to move forward, with the studio hiring Will Beall to write the remake script. Beall is a former Lapd detective who got a lot of attention for his writing of the script Tales from the Gangster Squad, a movie that Zombieland director, Ruben Fleischer will helm. Beall’s pitch maintained the buddy-cop theme with a hard-r edge that the studio was looking for. Hard-r edge? The first movie with Gibson...

Update: Producer Joel Silver has hired former L.A. cop Will Beall to write a script [1] for the new Lethal Weapon movie. Get out your torches and pitchforks, folks... it looks like Warner Brothers is the early stages of rebooting the beloved Lethal Weapon series. After years of rumours about a possible fifth installment (with Mel Gibson himself apparently being the main holdout), it seems that they have finally decided to move on without Gibson and Glover and start over again from scratch. Heat Vision [2] reports that the departure of studio exec Jessica Goodman has led to a number of stalled WB projects being re-assigned to new producers with the hopes of getting them off the ground again. Some of the other projects being considered include remakes of The Dirty Dozen, Westworld, and The Wild Bunch. Oh yes, I can already sense the outrage brewing. While Westworld is a more...

Some of us film buffs that love original films but hate remakes or reboots must sometimes feel like they’re getting too old for this shit. Things aren’t gonna be any better after a portfolio from recently departed Warner Bros executive Jessica Goodman revealed the prospect that Lethal Weapon is set to earn a reboot along with a possible remake of western classic The Wild Bunch.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros has gained the file of projects to be reassigned to other executives who will then try to develop the ideas from the original films and have them redone for the modern generation. Other films that were mentioned in the portfolio included a remake of war flick The Dirty Dozen, Westworld and a new live-action Tarzan film.

"I'm getting too old for this shit." A whole bunch of remakes, yes more of them, in development at Warner Bros just made themselves known thanks to an exec leaving the company. THR reports that an executive VP at the studio named Jessica Goodman left and her projects that she was working will move to other execs. So what did she have? In addition to remakes of The Dirty Dozen, Oh God and Tarzan (some of which we have heard about before), other remakes she was working on were Lethal Weapon, Westworld and The Wild Bunch. Too many remakes, give it a rest! But that's not it, as some of them are in active development. First up, if you remember, there was a Lethal Weapon 5 in development for a while, but with all the recent Mel Gibson madness, that fell apart before it could get too far. Deadline reports that...

At this point in the remake process, when we've got everything from 'Footloose' to 'An American Werewolf in London' and 'The Wizard of Oz' slapped on the to-do list, new remake/reboot/sequel announcements aren't all that surprising. Especially in a world where Miramax's notable library is getting thrust into the action.
It seems rather silly to gripe and groan, so let's get down to it: The Hollywood Reporter posts that the departure of long-time Warner Bros. exec Jessica Goodman -- after a 13-year tenure -- has prompted her portfolio to be distributed to fellow bigwigs. This work file included a whole pile of reboots -- many long-rumored and long-forgotten -- 'Lethal Weapon' (a reboot, not #5), 'The Wild Bunch,' 'The Dirty Dozen,' 'Westworld' and 'Oh God.'

Warner Bros. is working on a reboot of Lethal Weapon, a remake of The Wild Bunch and a remake of Westworld.
Now that Jessica Goodman has parted ways from the studio, these films are getting a revamp. She worked with Warner Bros. for 13 years as VP and oversaw films such as Watchmen, Training Day and the upcoming Green Lantern.

With the departure of longtime studio executive Jessica Goodman, Warner Bros Pictures are looking into reboots of a few high-profile titles she had in her portfolio which are now being reassigned to new executives reports Heat Vision.
The biggest surprise inclusion in the list is a reboot of "Lethal Weapon", the 80's action franchise about mismatched cops which benefitted greatly from the chemistry between Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
Also on the list are potential remakes of the Sam Peckinpah western classic "The Wild Bunch" and the Michael Crichton-penned "Westworld" about a robot attraction theme park gone awry.
Goodman was also overseeing remakes of "The Dirty Dozen," "Oh, God," "Tarzan" which have been active in recent years but have never quite come together.

It was less than an hour ago that I wrote about Warner Bros. going back through their in-development projects following the departure of executive Jessica Goodman to find movies to reboot and remake. One title on the list was the classic action buddy cop series Lethal Weapon and now, apparently, they've already hired a writer. Deadline reports that Will Beall, the writer of the upcoming Tales From The Gangster Squad, has been hired by Warner Bros. to update the Mel Gibson/Danny Glover series for the modern era with a new cast. According to the report, Beall's pitch was to maintain the "hard R-rated edgy street cop movie" tone of the original. Only rubbing salt in the wound is the fact that the article mentions that the studio has been "messing around" with a treatment for a Lethal Weapon 5 by none other than Shane Black (he wrote the first film...

There are some really good reasons to reboot a franchise or do a remake. Some films just don't age well over time. Others have an interesting concept that simply wasn't executed well. Sadly, none of that really matters in Hollywood. For executives, the reason to remake or reboot is to capitalize on an existing brand, regardless of how amazing or classic the original was. Perfect example? This story. THR has learned that with the departure of Warner Bros. executive Jessica Goodman, the studio is now planning a reboot of the Lethal Weapon franchise and has started planing remakes of The Wild Bunch, Westworld, The Dirty Dozen, Oh, God, and Tarzan. All of the remakes have been in development for years under Goodman, but with her leaving the projects are being re-distributed among other executives trying to make a splash. The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Warner Bros. has distributed a number of potential remakes and reboots shepherded for many years by departing studio exec. Jessica Goodman among other execs including a number of remakes that have been in development hell and even presumed dead. At the top of that list is a possible reboot of the buddy action franchise "Lethal Weapon" that put Mel Gibson and Danny Glover on the map with four successful installments in the '80s, all directed by Richard Donner and written by Shane Black. One would expect that a reboot would introduce a new pair of actors and director into the formula used for those films, and there's no word whether producer Joel Silver would still be involved. The article also mentions that...

Mike Mitchell will direct "Monster Squad," formerly known as "Nightcrawlers," Warner Bros.' long-gestating supernatural action comedy.
The studio picked up "Nightcrawlers" as a spec by Brian Lynch in 2000. The project went through numerous writers, including Michael Arndt and Audrey Wells, as Warners sought to find a balance of laughs and chills.
The project's title was changed to "Monster Squad," though it is not a remake of the 1987 Warners movie written by Shane Black.
The studio is keeping mum on the new "Squad" log line, which has changed considerably in the last decade. It remains, however, a high-concept, big-budget, supernatural fantasy.
Brad Copeland wrote the current script.
Warners is aiming for a shoot in late summer 2010.
Donald De Line is producing. Jessica Goodman is overseeing for the studio.
Mitchell, repped by CAA, is in postproduction on "Shrek Forever After," the fourth film in the franchise. He also directed Disney's "Sky High" and DreamWorks' "Surviving Christmas.

Warner Bros. and Kevin Misher are seeking vengeance.
The studio and producer are teaming for "Vegas Avengers," an action pic to be written by Black List scribe Soo Hugh.
"Avengers" tells the story of a hot shot pilot who, after taking too many risks, is forced to enter a top-secret program that flies experimental, unmanned planes. Much of the action takes place at Nellis Air Force base just outside Las Vegas.
Those familiar with the project, which is based on Peter Godwin's Men's Journal article of the same name, have said it contains echoes of "Top Gun."
Established during World War II, Nellis has a rich history, having stored large caches of advanced weapons and served as headquarters to a top-secret Cold War program involving U.S.-piloted Russian MiGs.
Misher will produce "Avengers" through his Misher Films banner. Jessica Goodman and Matt Milam will oversee for Warners.

Warners Bros is setting an Eta on "Sis."
The studio is developing the acronym-inflected project, a cop drama in the vein of "Training Day." Chris Gorak, a noted art director whose credits include "Fight Club" and "Minority Report," is attached to direct and pen the screenplay. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian will produce.
Casting is presently under way for the project, which is described as having a soft greenlight. Jessica Goodman and Matt Milam are overseeing for Warners.
"Sis" began life several years ago as "In-Crime," with Kurt Sutter, a showrunner on FX's "The Shield," penning the first draft of the script and initally attached to direct. Russell Gewirtz, who wrote the Spike Lee hostage film "Inside Man" and Overture Films' upcoming Robert De Niro-Al Pacino cop drama "Righteous Kill," also subsequently wrote a draft of the screenplay.
Sis stands for special investigations section, a unit of the police force built to combat some of the most brutal criminals while they are in the midst of committing crimes, and often operates under looser restrictions than a traditional police unit. The feature will center on characters in the Sis unit of the Lapd.
Gorak made his writing and directorial debut in "Right at Your Door," an action picture about a man who discovered a nuclear weapon in modern-day Los Angeles, which Roadside and Lionsgate released in 2006.
