Star Wars: The Last Jedi New Promotional Image Shows Off New Character

16 hours ago | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

The countdown to the second installment of LucasFilm’s new Star Wars trilogy continues. The Last Jedi will be in theaters in just a few short months. Lucasfilm, as secretive as always has not been forthcoming with many details. While The Last Jedi has no official presence at Sdcc we do have a new promotional image. A close up shot of Finn (John Boyega), Rey (Daisy Ridley), and one of the better looks at the new character Rose, who is played by Kelly Marie Tran.

In the photo, Finn can be seen wearing the jacket of Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, who curiously is not featured in the photo. Rey adorns a smoky gray outfit and is holding Luke’s old lightsaber, positioned in a fighting stance. Kelly Marie Tran’s character, Rose, is also shown and is thought to be a maintenance worker in the resistance.

Twitter Reacts to O.J. Simpson Parole Verdict: ‘The Juice Is Loose’

20 July 2017 2:12 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Twitter partied like it was 1995 on Thursday.

O.J. Simpson’s parole hearing for a 2007 armed robbery captured the nation’s — and social media’s — attention on Thursday. The Nevada Parole Board granted Simpson parole, and the former football star could walk free as early at Oct. 1. Twitter reacted to the news throughout the televised hearing and especially after the verdict was announced.

Ava DuVernay tweeted a gif of a baffled man as soon as the Nevada board granted Simpson with the parole.

Many referenced the famous murder trial of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, in which Simpson was acquitted to much controversy.

“Oj Simpson has been granted parole. He can now go back to searching for the real killers of his ex-wife.”

Every day society doesn't give Oj parole is one more day we keep him from finding the real killer#OJSimpsonParole

New Trailer For ‘Brigsby Bear’ Starring Kyle Mooney & Mark Hamill Grows Up

Earning considerable buzz out of Sundance and Cannes, perhaps the most distinctive thing about “Brigsby Bear” is that it’s a hard movie to sum up. However, you can thank Andy Samberg and his The Lonely Island buddies for seeing the potential in the script by the film’s star Kyle Mooney, and helping to get it made.

Full-Length Trailer for 'Brigsby Bear' Shows the Power of Imagination

19 July 2017 12:44 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Try to imagine a hero..." Sony Classics has debuted the second trailer for indie film Brigsby Bear, one of the breakout hits of the Sundance Film Festival this year. This full-length trailer gives away most of the film (so watch out), but it's still a great trailer. Brigsby Bear stars Kyle Mooney (from SNL) as a kid who has grown up in an underground bunker, watching one and only one TV show over-and-over - called Brigsby Bear. One day everything stops, and he has to deal with the real world. The full cast includes Mark Hamill, Greg Kinnear, Claire Danes, Ryan Simpkins, Andy Samberg, Michaela Watkins, Jane Adams, and Chance Crimin. The film played at Sundance and Cannes (read my review) and it's an excellent film, most of all because it's a lover letter to the power of storytelling. I hope people take a moment to go see this. Star Wars: Alec Guinness Slapped Mark Hamill On The Set Of A New Hope

19 July 2017 11:30 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Star Wars is a franchise that has been around for four full decades. Its impact on pop culture is undeniable, and yet if there’s one thing that’s been proven is that folks don’t get tired about hearing about all the stories surrounding its making. It seems like every year, some new bits of information surface, and it makes for an incredibly interesting archaeological project of sorts. No matter how deep we dig, or how carefully we clean up the artifact, there always seems to be plenty of new discoveries.

This latest story comes courtesy of the man himself, Mark Hamill, and chronicles a little side-tale between him and Sir Alec Guinness, the presence behind the original Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s worth mentioning that at the time of production, most everyone involved in the project thought it was doomed to fail. It was a strange sci-fi film with »

Rian Johnson compares Star Wars: The Last Jedi to the Original Trilogy

19 July 2017 10:35 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

While J.J. AbramsStar Wars: The Force Awakens was an enormous success at the box office, one of the biggest criticisms aimed at the film was that it adhered to closely to the plot of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. And, with December’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi said to be taking the characters down a darker route – as well as reportedly revealing “The Most Shocking Truth In Star Wars History” – there has been some concern that the next movie will attempt to be the Empire Strikes Back of the Sequel Trilogy.

The Empire comparison is one that isn’t lost on director Rian Johnson, and speaking to Fandango, the filmmaker has acknowledged that there are some similarities, although he also compares the tone to that of The Force Awakens and Return of the Jedi:

Mark Hamill Doesn’t Think a Young Luke Skywalker Film Would Work

19 July 2017 7:30 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Oy, talking about Star Wars is a touchy subject sometimes, especially when you’re bringing up the main characters. Luke Skywalker has become the most iconic member of the cast since his first arrival in A New Hope and ever since then has been one of the most sought after characters in terms of stories, merchandise, and overall exposure. But one thing you need to keep in mind as talks of prequels and their like start popping up. Luke didn’t have the most exciting life growing up on Tattooine. A Han Solo prequel will offer plenty of action, as would an
