5 February 2016 1:13 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It had already taken the crown of the highest-grossing North American release of all time back in early January, and now after fifty days on screens Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the first film in history to pass $900 million at the domestic box office.

“The film’s achievements are truly astounding, and it’s our great honor to relaunch this cinematic galaxy not only for all the devoted decades-long fans but for a new generation who will keep the Star Wars legacy alive for many years to come,” states Disney’s Alan Horn.

Worldwide, The Force Awakens is expected to become only the third film ever to reach $2 billion this Saturday after James Cameron’s Titanic ($2.18 billion) and Avatar ($2.78 billion).

Nien Nunb Will Return in 'Star Wars 8'

5 February 2016 7:40 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

X-Wing pilot Nein Nunb has not run his last mission yet. The popular side character is expected to return in Star Wars: Episode VIII after having helped blow up the Starkiller Base in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The actor behind Nein Nunb, Mike Quinn, has had to cancel a con appearance so he can be on set this February.

We announced earlier this week that both Tim Rose, who plays Admiral Ackbar, and Peter Mayhew, who plays the legendary wookie Chewbacca, had to pull out of PensaCon to shoot a secret project, which is undoubtably Star Wars: Episode VIII. Now comes word that Mike Quinn is also needed back on set. This is the official statement from PensaCon.

"So, more bad news this morning. Mike Quinn has to cancel his appearance as well. A certain movie is calling..."
