'The secrecy has been ludicrous': Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels on the new film and his life as C-3Po

3 September 2015 10:49 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

The first time the actor saw C-3Po, he felt kinship – and went on to play the android in all six Star Wars movies. Ahead of The Force Awakens, he talks about being censured by Disney, working with Jj Abrams and playing the worrywart robot once more

At the end of the hour that I spend with the actor Anthony Daniels, he reaches unprompted into his bag and removes a severed head. The pale gold exterior is tarnished and distressed. The static dots of its pupils stare out from behind tiny grilles. The mouth, an oblong slit like a tiny letterbox, conveys alarm. Fans’ expectations for the new film are stratospheric for several reasons. The »

Sounds Like Some Star Wars: Episode VIII Filming is Happening This Month

2 September 2015 2:12 PM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

We've known for a little while now that Star Wars filming would return to Skellig Michael island in September, and speculation has run rampant on What Lucasfilm is going to be doing there.  Some new quotes from the Minister of State seem to confirm rumors that it's for Episode VIII.  Come inside to check them out.

Let's get some facts out of the way.  Last year, The Force Awakens crew filmed on Skellig Michael for a brief period (like a handful of days), and Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley were the only cast present for it.  I have a good idea what the scene was for...but let's not deal with that right now.  We're talking facts.  The other fact we know, is that a filming crew will be returning to Skellig Michael later this month (mid-September) to shoot for approximately six weeks.
