Prime Video‘s new series Étoile keeps with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino‘s tradition by incorporating pop culture references and even some big cameos throughout the Prime Video show’s first season. As viewers see, David Byrne of Talking Heads fame makes a cameo as himself in a Zoom conversation with choreographer Tobias Bell (Gideon Glick), and fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi portrays himself as a moderator in a conversation with star ballerina Cheyenne (Lou de Laâge). P!nk was also mentioned but not seen during a press conference scene in the new show. “Isaac’s my new best friend, so I wanted him in Paris with us,” Sherman-Palladino explains of the inclusion of Mizrahi. “We did it on Gilmore [Girls], and we dropped what we could on Maisel, but you had to be in the 1950s to know what you’re talking about,” she adds of making pop culture references onscreen.

With its release in 2010, Tangledwas instantly regarded as a true return to form for Disney while utilizing what was, at the time, a new animation style for the company. Grossing almost $600 million on a $260 million budget, the film rivaled Disney's renaissance-era films, including more contemporary musical numbers, featuring the vocals of '90s/early 2000s pop star Mandy Moore.
The film explores conflicted dynamics between the sly criminal Flynn Ryder and the sheltered lost princess Rapunzel. The two's development from unlikely friends to inseparable lovers coincides beautifully with the film's adventure elements. The film is an adaption of the beloved fairy tale Rapunzel and employs many key plot points from the story, but there is a more concentrated emphasis on the action within the film. This shift in direction for the film was decided to appeal to a more comprehensive audience, aiming to move away from the princess film archetype.

Def Leppard are sending love to Los Angeles as the city recovers from devastating wildfires that claimed multiple lives and displaced thousands. The band’s cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me,” guitarist Phil Collen shared, “is a tribute to resilience, unity and hope.” Proceeds from the charity single will benefit FireAid, the non-profit organization raising funds for immediate relief efforts and long-term initiatives to take preventative measures against fire disasters in Southern California.
“In times of devastation, standing together is more important than ever,” Collen said in a statement.

No Doubt reunited once again to perform at the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles on Thursday night, where they played “Just a Girl,” “Don’t Speak,” and “Spiderwebs.”
The band was introduced by John Mayer — who said “You can’t have a concert for SoCal” without them — and immediately launched into “Just a Girl,” donning their ’90s throwback plaid and bringing their ska A-game to the upbeat crowd-pleaser. From there, they performed “Don’t Speak,” and then brought the energy back up their closer, “Spiderwebs.” Watch a clip of the performance below.
The appearance marked No Doubt’s first live appearance since they reunited last year to headline Coachella, which earned a “Skachella” nickname thanks to their involvement and a set from fellow SoCal band Sublime.

On Thursday night, P!Nk was one of many artists who performed at the FireAid benefit concert, taking the stage at the Kia Forum for an impassioned set that included a cover of Led Zeppelin’s version of “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You.”
P!Nk began her portion of the night with a rendition of 2017 song “What About Us,” after which she told the crowd that she was going to “keep my feet on the ground” with “a couple of songs that bring me comfort.” She then launched into a stirring cover of the Janis Joplin classic “Me and Bobby McGee.”
After belting her heart out on the “Bobby McGee” outro — which made her “almost pass out” — she took a drink and asked the audience “We got any Led Zeppelin fans out there?” Responding to their applause, she said “Alright, thank God” and introduced the next song: her version of...

Nearly 30 of the biggest stars of the past half-century came together on Jan. 30 to deliver a five-and-a-half-hour love letter to Los Angeles, offering the city a much-needed musical catharsis following this month’s devastating, destructive wildfires.
The FireAid show was a huge undertaking: With so many artists eager to take part, organizers split them into two simultaneous events, at the famed Kia Forum and the newer Intuit Dome one mile down the street. Fittingly, most of the classic rock acts played the Forum, while the more contemporary pop stars played the newer venue.

R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe has mostly avoided the spotlight in recent years, but Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has temporarily changed that. On Thursday night (October 10th), he performed at his second rally in as many weeks, this time at R.E.M.’s former home base of Athens, Georgia.
During his four-song set, Stipe was backed by Now It’s Overhead’s Andy LeMaster and Mercyland’s David Barbe. After kicking it off by performing R.E.M.’s 1985 song “Wendell Gee” for the first time in 39 years, Stipe played his solo track “Your Capricious Soul,” his Big Red Machine collaboration “No Time for Love Like Now,” and revisited “Driver 8.”

Pink & Daughter Willow Hart Visit Broadway Shows 'Hadestown' & 'The Great Gatsby' During Tour Break!

P!nk and her daughter Willow Hart enjoyed a fun weekend enjoying Broadway shows during a break from touring!
In a post on Instagram, Pink explained to fans that Willow is a massive musical theatre fan.
“As most of you know, as a mother, I am happy as long as my kids are being their authentic selves, and they’re not assholes,” Pink said. “I am happy as long as there is a light in their eyes. I am under no illusion that any of this is easy. Parenting, being a kid, being on this earth, any of it. As long as we are doing ‘almost our best’, and allowing others to be their true selves- then I think we’re nailing it. But having a theater kid? Ultimate dream slash best case scenario. And being able to take her and expose her to this artform that lives?”

Michael Stipe and Jason Isbell teamed up for a four-song set at a campaign rally in support of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in Pittsburgh on Friday night.
The performance kicked off with Stipe revisiting R.E.M.’s “The One I Love,” before the two sang Isbell’s songs “Traveling Alone” and “Hope the High Road.” They then closed out their mini-set with a rendition of R.E.M.’s “Driver 8.”
The duo were introduced by Harris’ husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff. “So honored and just geeking out, nerding out and geeking out that I’m about to introduce Michael Stipe and Jason Isbell,” he said.
As for Stipe, it marked a rare live public performance for the former R.E.M. frontman. He most recently sang live at the Songwriters Hall of Fame event back in June, where he reunited with his former bandmates for a performance of “Losing My Religion.” During Friday’s rally,...

Vice President Kamala Harris is known for being a hip-hop, soul, and jazz fan, but now we know she has dabbled in punk rock on at least one occasion. In a recent interview with Efe, Harris’ younger cousin Sharada Balachandran Orihuela recalled the two of them attending a Bad Religion show in the early 2000s.
Orihuela’s father, Gopalan Balachandran, is Harris’ uncle on her mother’s side, meaning they share the same Indian grandparents. While growing up between Mexico and India, Orihuela became a big fan of Bad Religion but never went to one of their concerts.
This all changed when Orihuela moved to Oakland, California in 2001 to attend college. Orihuela went to live with her aunt (and Harris’ mother) Shyamala, allowing her to bond with her older cousin.
At the time, Harris was an assistant district attorney in San Francisco, but the future Democratic presidential nominee still put...

Pink has performed on hundreds of stages throughout her career, so the one she took at the Democratic National Convention last week wasn’t all that unfamiliar to her. But it was a big step for Willow Sage Hart, her 13-year-old daughter who accompanied her to perform “What About Us” at the event. It wasn’t their first time performing together, but Pink knew just what to say to ease her daughter’s lingering nerves before they walked out to the packed audience.

This performance marks a significant moment for Willow, who recently stepped back from her mother’s Summer Carnival Tour to pursue theater. Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Hart Moore, announced in June that Willow would be starring in a production of Bye Bye Birdie back home.

While Thursday night’s big finish at the Democratic Party’s quadrennial pep rally was a rousing speech by current Vice President and 2024 party nominee Kamala Harris, a great many people online had been led to believe that 32-time Grammy-winning recording artist Beyoncé would show up at the United Center in Chicago.
The rumor began on X, formerly Twitter, a website that used to have a fairly rigorous verification process before Elon Musk purchased it, with “insiders” saying that the final night would feature a “special guest” that would be even more of a shocker than Oprah Winfrey, who made an appearance earlier in the week. Dublin’s National Wax Museum Plus has pulled its newly unveiled figure of Sinead O’Connor and promised to “create a more accurate representation” of the late Irish singer.
The museum unveiled the original waxwork on Thursday (July 25th) to coincide with the first anniversary of the artist’s death, but the figure was met with swift backlash from the general public and O’Connor’s own family.
O’Connor’s brother, John O’Connor, told RTÉ’s Liveline that he was unaware the wax figure had been commissioned, saying he was “shocked” by the “hideous” figure when he saw it online.
While he was on air, museum director Paddy Dunning (a personal friend of Sinéad’s) apologized to John and promised to make things right. “We have to do better,” he admitted.

Then, Meri Brown followed suit and finally threw in the towel in January 2023. Sadly, Christine admits that Kody was only wanting the “positive” and “fun” side of her.

The Pink Ranger gets a horrifying 'zombified' redesign on a variant cover for the upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #122. The "Darkest Hour" event sees the Power Rangers facing their ultimate enemy, Dark Specter, with potential consequences. The zombified Pink Ranger represents the Ranger Slayer's dark completion of her story arc, highlighting the darkness within her.
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #122! When the Power Rangers originated in the 90s, the team was a bright and colorful superhero squad whose adventures were geared toward child audiences, which is a far stretch from what modern fans are seeing with the Pink Rangers most recent, horrifying redesign. Admittedly, this wouldnt be the first time the Power Rangers franchise has explored a more mature tone (especially in the horror genre), but this redesign might be the darkest yet.
In a preview shared by Aipt Comics for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #122 by Melissa Flores and Simona Di Gianfelice,...

An old adage reminds us that “character is what you do when no one is watching.” Steve Buscemi, the acclaimed actor, exemplified this maxim on September 11, 2001, when he reported to Ground Zero and worked with his old unit, Engine Company 55, in Manhattan. Without fanfare, press conferences, or public declarations, Buscemi worked alongside other firefighters in the aftermath of the attacks. It was only later, through chance encounters and quiet disclosures, that the public learned of his selfless actions that day. And so, it’s fitting that Buscemi, a man of character, is best known for his work as a character actor – bringing depth, nuance, and complexity to the roles he’s played on screen, just as he brought courage, compassion, and humility to his work on and after that fateful day.
But how was that courage formed? To know that, we must return to where the beginning began, when he was born On His Birthday,...

Katy Perry left American Idol after seven seasons, and Luke Bryan is sharing names that could potentially replace her.
In a new interview, the country star name-dropped the stars that have “been in talks” to judge the competition next season.
“I’ve said several names. I think Pink has been in the talks, Miley Cyrus has been in the talks, Meghan Trainor has been in the talks,” Bryan told Billboard.
He continued, “It’s been interesting. It’s been something Disney been really tightlipped about with me and Lionel and Ryan. We currently haven’t heard what the story is on who’s coming back, and if Lionel and I are coming back. I think Disney is just trying to figure out what they want to do and we’re just kind of sitting back and waiting until they decide.”
Perry, Bryan, and Lionel Richie joined American Idol in Season 16 when ABC rebooted the competition.
