Robots (seen)
by Pantstrovich | created - 15 Jun 2014 | updated - 5 months ago | PublicWork in progress. No order. No cyborgs.
To count as a robot, they must have the following characteristics:
1. Autonomous (has A.I. pre-programed to do something)
2. Completely synthetic; no living tissue
3. Has a body of some sort (if A.I. resides within a computer, which is not inside of a robot body, I'd consider it only a program)
-
Terminator is technically a cyborg because he is a robot wearing living flesh, which is not synthetic. He just barely makes it into the cyborg category.
Saturn 3 "robots" are cyborgs because they have human brains.
Fembots (Six Million Dollar Man, etc) are cyborgs.
I guess I'll have to make cyborg lists eventually.
Pretty much all "robot" combat shows are actually remote controlled combat vehicle shows. Might as well just be remote controlled cars with knives taped to them.
Note: A Roomba with a knife taped to it is an actual robot. Probably not a very good combat robot (since its A.I. is programmed not to bump into things), but still more of a robot than a remote controlled vehicle.

I think Monster was supposed to be a robot that could control the van thing. I watched the American/German version, which is edited badly and changed things so drastically, that little made any sense. I hope there is a French version with English subtitles out there somewhere. - On another note, if anyone knows which cartoon was shown in the film, I'd really like to know. Thanks!
