In the ongoing pursuit of O.J. Simpsons as he – as a passenger – headed down the Los Angeles freeway towards his home, there was a lot for watchers to take in. And there were a lot of viewers, as 95 million people tuned into the slow-speed chase, glued to their television sets to find out what would happen once the white Bronco finally stopped. But there was a lot going on behind the scenes, too, involving people we would have never thought had any ties to the O.J. Simpson chase – and we’re not just talking about Kurt Russell here. As it turns out, none other than Sharon Stone was put under police lockdown during the chase. What did they think, that O.J. was coming after every blonde in L.A.?
As she recently told InStyle, Sharon Stone remembered a police squad arriving at her home during the chase, telling...

A reunited Heart performed their first show in over four years on Wednesday night (December 27th) at the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in Highland, California.
The legendary rock group fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson had previously announced a New Year’s Eve reunion concert in their hometown of Seattle, Washington. It appears Heart scheduled a few warm-up gigs, as the Highland show will be followed by a performance on Thursday (December 28th) at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.
Wednesday’s concert was Heart’s first since October 2019 and saw the band running through a career-spanning set including hits such as “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” and “Barracuda.” The Wilson sisters would close out the evening with a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” reprising their famous performance of the song at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012 — a rendition that brought Robert Plant, who was in attendance,...

Actress Sharon Stone recently appeared on Kelly Ripa’s podcast ‘Let’s Talk Off Camera’ in which she disclosed for the first time one of her experiences combating sexual harassment in Hollywood.
She said that a former head of Sony exposed his p**** to her when she went to his office for a general meeting in the 1980s, long before films like ‘Basic Instinct’ and ‘Casino’ made her an international star, reports ‘Variety’.
The actress did not name the former executive. She remembered being “so excited” to “wear a special outfit” and “to meet the head of Sony.” She wore a “Ralph Lauren jacket with the little ruffle on the shoulder” and a “denim skirt with a big ruffle at the bottom,” plus cowboy boots.

Sharon Stone famously laughed during a 2018 “CBS Sunday Morning” interview when asked if she ever faced sexual harassment or assault in Hollywood. “I been in this business for 40 years,” the Oscar nominee told the reporter at the time. “Can you imagine the business I stepped into 40 years ago, looking like I look? I’ve seen it all.”
In a new appearance on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, Stone disclosed for the first time one of her experiences combating sexual harassment in the industry. Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 10 season premiere of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Sept. 10 on Fox.
“The Masked Singer” kicked off its 10th season on Sunday night with a special episode — and a lotta Lovato. Demi Lovato as “Anonymouse” was the first celebrity unmasked this season — although there’s an asterisk there. Lovato didn’t appear as part of the competition (otherwise they absolutely would have continued into future weeks), but as a one-off.
Lovato, of course, got their start at Disney — a.k.a. the Mouse House — via the Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock” and series “Sonny with a Chance.” So the “Anonymouse” character itself was most definitely a hint to Lovato’s identity under the mask.
Lovato opened the show with a strong take on “What About Love,” as originally performed by Heart. “Just like Michelle Obama, Oprah and Angelina Jolie,...

In another move to feed the beast of frosh streamers, Universal has announced that their Jennifer Lopez-Owen Wilson romantic comedy Marry Me will stream on Peacock the same weekend the movie hits theaters, Feb. 11-13.
Previous theatrical-day-and-date Peacock releases include DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby: Family Business ($57.3M domestic) and Blumhouse/Miramax’s Halloween Kills. The latter film didn’t seem to be eroded that much by its Peacock release posting a healthy $49.4M domestic opening and a $92M final tally stateside.
Marry Me, directed by Kat Coiro, follows a musical superstar, played by Lopez, who is about to be proposed to by her fellow music supernova (Maluma in his feature film debut) before a global audience of fans. However, she learns that he’s been unfaithful and decides to marry Charlie (Wilson), a stranger in the crowd instead.

“His Dark Materials” writer Jack Thorne has partnered with actor-turned-writer Genevieve Barr to create a factual drama for BBC Two based on the true story about the campaign for disabled civil rights in Britain.
With a working title of “Independence Day? How Disabled Rights Were Won,” the 60-minute film centres on the people behind a campaign of direct action for disability rights.
The film enters the story through the eyes of Barbara Lisicki and Alan Holdsworth (pictured), two disabled cabaret performers who met in 1989 and went on to become the driving force behind Dan (Direct Action Network).
Their incendiary ‘Piss on Pity’ protest slogan helped to re-frame the debate around disability rights in the U.K., while their spontaneous pickets shut down cinemas, restaurants, stations and even the London underground, until their rights were enshrined into law.
The one-off drama is being made by Endemol Shine Group-backed Dragonfly Film...

Since her gothy 2014 single “Beggin’ For Thread” (“to sew this hole up that you ripped in my head”), Jillian Banks has stepped with a vanguard steering pop from butterflies and rainbows towards darker, weirder places. She doubles down on III, suggesting Billie Eilish’s graver older sis with a timely set full of menacing sub-bass distortion, suspended silences, grimey organ tones and digitally-abraded vocals. It’s a snow-globe of tainted love that makes the apocalyptic outside world seems near- manageable by comparison, a public service for that alone.

Hundreds of Gold Derby users are predicting the winners of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, and the consensus is that Cardi B is the overwhelming favorite to win Best New Artist. She’s the most nominated artist of the year with 10 bids for her own work as well as contributions to other artists’ songs and videos. But a victory for her would be historic. Not only would she be the first solo female winner since Lady Gaga (2009), she’d be the first female rapper ever to prevail.
The last female rapper to earn a bid was Young M.A just last year, though she lost to teenage R&B breakout Khalid. Before that Iggy Azalea earned a bid for her video “Work” in 2013, but that award went to Austin Mahone for “What About Love.” Kreayshawn (“Gucci Gucci”) earned a bid in 2011, but fans picked a male rapper that year,...

Popular in the 1960s and early 1970s with more rare appearances in the 1980s, 1990s and the 2000s, the anthology-style horror film has made a solid resurgence in recent years with such portmanteau releases as The ABCs of Death films and the V/H/S series.
With Mexico Barbaro, Fear Paris and other projects in various stages of completion, the anthology horror film looks to continue to be an important part of the horror cinema landscape.
Some anthology films employ a framing or wraparound sequence in an attempt to connect the segments that make up the film while others dispense with this classic Amicus-style approach entirely and simply present a collection of short films connected by genre.
Either way, a horror anthology film is ultimately about the quality of its individual segments and this article will take you on a tour of the greatest horror anthology segments of all time.

April is the cruelest month, and not just for T.S. Eliot.
At the multiplex, throughout April, we're in for a brutal, Darwinian survival test for several A-list stars of yesteryear -- from Kevin Costner to Nicole Kidman to Jude Law -- all of whom are currently on the comeback trail. Some of them may end the month on their way back to their former glory, and some will see their careers shredded even further.
Here are our best guesses as to who will thrive and who will starve.
Nicolas Cage
Last Big Hit: 2013 cartoon "The Croods" (starring voice role); 2009 drama "Knowing" (leading role)
Comeback Effort: Drama "Joe" (April 11)
Prospects: Cage is earning the kind of acclaim he hasn't seen in years for delivering a real, non-cartoonish performance in this rural drama as the title ex-con, who becomes the unlikely mentor to a teen (Tye Sheridan) in need of adult guidance.

Ja from Mnpp here. There's Miss Stone (if she's nasty) rocking the fierce rich lady look (eye-work and all she'd seem right at home having lunch with Marisa Berenson in I Am Love) on the set of her new movie What About Love with Andy Garcia. (via) No idea about this movie but just seeing her makes me wish she worked more. Why doesn't she work more? Say what you will about Catwoman (everybody already has) - I thought she had great fun scratching at that litter box of a movie.

Welcome back to American Idol! Last night the men delivered a round of mostly lackluster performances, but as you know, girls just want to have fun (and sing Adele, probably), so I had high hopes for tonight. Ryan Seacrest kicks things off doing a little cheer because Scotty McCreery is contractually obligated to return to the show in a few weeks. He then introduces the judges: Jennifer Lopez! Randy Jackson! The "controversial" Steven Tyler, who seems mostly asleep until someone mentions a girl in a short skirt. He's like a pervy dormouse.
