The romance between Princess Diana and the handsome doctor she fell in love with in the years after her split from Prince Charles has become the stuff of legend. In the final weeks before her tragic death in Paris in 1997, friends say it was Hasnat Khan—and not Dodi Al-Fayed, the man killed alongside her in that violent car crash—who was occupying her thoughts. The affair with the heart surgeon had begun two years before. They met when she visited a friend at the London hospital where he worked. Minutes after first laying eyes on him, she described him as "Mr. Wonderful"—a nickname which stuck and ultimately sent the press into a frenzy when the media found out about her new suitor a few...

We couldn't help but smile over new photos and videos of Prince William's latest visit with children at a south London hospital. The Duke of Cambridge traveled to the children's Oak Center cancer unit at the Royal Marsden's Sutton hospital on Tuesday and got to meet one sweet 6-year-old patient named Daisy Wood. In fact, Daisy had been watching a movie about princesses just before William walked into her room, and while she allowed him to strap on her name tag for the meeting, she realized the royal just wasn't her type. Her father joked, "She did say William was a little old for her to marry." Lol! Still, Daisy found herself a little tongue-tied upon her visit...

One of the things we love most about Prince Harry is his genuine interest in the well-being of other people. While some public figures might shy away from dealing with serious topics such as illness, Harry doesn't think twice about actually physically embracing those who are struggling. That's exactly what he did this week when he reunited with a pair of siblings in a London hospital who are battling the same terminal illness. Harry, who met 6-year-old Ollie Carroll and his little sister, Amelia, at the WellChild Awards last year, spent time with the pair on Tuesday. They both suffer from Batten disease, a rare genetic childhood nervous system disorder that eventually renders patients unable to walk, see, eat, or breathe. Most children diagnosed with Batten do not live past age 12. Ollie and Amelia's two older brothers were tested for the disease and don't have it. Ollie and Amelia's parents,...

John Boyega was a force for good in the lives of some sick children last week, when the actor -- in character as his "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" alter ego, Finn -- surprised some tots with toys at a London hospital.
Boyega appeared at The Royal London Hospital last Friday on behalf of children's charity Rays of Sunshine. The organization had received a request from 5-year-old patient Daniel Bell, who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, for a visit from his favorite "Force Awakens" character. But Bell didn't just want a private audience with Finn -- he wanted the character to join him in passing out "Star Wars" toys to the rest of the kids at the hospital, too.
The actor obliged, and spent the day on Friday at Daniel's side, visiting with multiple children, handing out "Star Wars" gear, and dueling in lightsaber battles. According to Boyega's Instagram,...

Production on Rian Johnson's "Star Wars Episode VIII" has been underway for a few weeks but much of the work has been taking place in sound stages and behind security walls in London which has kept the paparazzi and fans out.
The production however has since shifted to Dubrovnik in Croatia where it's harder to control security and so some photos have gone online of alien, vehicle and set designs being employed by the production - which you can see below. The film itself still has plenty left to film and won't hit cinemas until December next year.

The Werewolf film. A staple of the horror genre since Lon Chaney, Jr. got all out of sorts in The Wolf Man (1941), it’s popularity (like the moon itself) , has come and gone in cycles. Leading the pack in 1981, An American Werewolf in London showed the world that there was life in those old lycanthropes yet.
Released in August, An American Werewolf in London earned over 30 million in North America alone. It was a hit, and the reviews were generally favorable, especially in regards to the groundbreaking effects work by Rick Baker (he would go on to win the inaugural Academy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Makeup for this film – deservedly so).
Our tale goes like this: David (David Naughton - the Dr. Pepper guy from the TV commercials – ask your parents) and Jack (Griffin Dunne – After Hours), two Americans, are backpacking through the English countryside. They stop for a...

There was some havoc near St. Mary's Hospital in London on Tuesday, April 21, but none (just yet!) for Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby-to-be. At around 8:45 a.m. local time, fifteen calls were made to emergency services after a Chicken Cottage takeaway caught on fire on nearby Praed Street. The roads behind the Paddington, London hospital, where the Duchess of Cambridge is expected to give birth in the plush Lindo Wing, were quickly shut down due to the blaze. The same roads are located right along the [...]...

Anyone who watched the last series of Line of Duty on BBC One will know that Jed Mercurio knows how to write compelling drama, and now he's returning to the medical genre with Critical, a 13-part series set in the trauma unit of a London hospital.
Explaining the thought process behind the show, Mercurio says that he wanted to "push the boundaries" of the genre further than ever before. He enjoyed huge success with his previous attempts, Bodies and Cardiac Arrest, so what can he do this time that he hasn't already tried?
Within the opening two minutes, it's clear that Critical is a very different beast to Mercurio's previous work, and most other contemporary medical dramas. With the presence of a 24-style countdown clock, each episode takes place during a trauma patient's "golden hour" – when it really is a case of life or death.
Critical has also been described...
