Stephen Colbert wowed Howard Stern with a rendition of "Brown Sugar" and immaculate impersonation of Mick Jagger's dance moves during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show Tuesday, on Stern's SiriusXM channel Howard 100.
The song-and-dance routine was prompted by Stern's question about a Rolling Stones cover band Colbert fronted when he was younger. The Late Show host-to-be immediately broke off a few slick-footed dance moves before telling Stern: "We were called Shot in the Dark — we called ourselves 'A Shit in the Dark' because we sucked so badly."

It's hard to believe it's been 11 years since we first met big screen heartthrob Vincent Chase (Adrien Grenier) and his boys, Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon), Eric "E" Murphy (Kevin Connolly) and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) on HBO's "Entourage." And, who can forget our favorite hot-headed agent, Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven)?! The eight-season series was filled to the brim with celebrity cameos, hot Hollywood nightclubs and a whole lot of partying -- and we loved every minute of it. While we finally get to see these boys back together on-screen in the "Entourage" movie on June 5, toofab is taking a look at what Vinny and his pack-mates have been up to since the show premiered over a decade ago in 2004. Grenier was probably best known for starring in the movie "Drive Me Crazy" before he nabbed his "Entourage" role. He later co-starred with Anne Hathaway in "The Devil Wears Prada" and directed two documentaries,...

Shot in the Dark: Herngren’s Tiring Road Comedy Overplays Gimmick
Before you can even wrap your mind around its cumbersome title, you’ll be immediately comparing The 100-Year-Old Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared to the structure of the famed American title it clearly resembles, Forrest Gump. Certainly less schmaltzy and more acerbic than that film, the concept wears thin rather quickly as we struggle through a stilted present day scenario considerably padded with useless flashbacks that extend the running time to a screeching two hours of comic buffoonery apparently going on behind major world events.
On the eve of his one hundredth birthday, spry elder Allan Karlsson (Robert Gustafsson) bails out of his ground level window and takes off into the Swedish countryside. A mix-up at the train station finds him in possession of a large suitcase of money, whose owner, an angry skinhead, alerts his cohorts of the mishap.

Tuesday night means Best Shot. This week we're looking at Ingmar Bergman's biggest success stateside both at the box office and with Oscar voters. If Cries and Whispers is not quite his most famous classic today, it remains one of the true essentials within his celebrated filmography. This mysterious and utterly gorgeous film won Bergman's longtime Dp Sven Nykvist the first of his two Oscars for best cinematography. It concerns three sisters, one of whom is dying, and the family's maid. Naturally it's very depressing. But great art always transcends.
If you're running late with your choice for Best Shot, take heart and finish watching. My own entry in this "best shot" party will be up tomorrow so yours can be too. I have a good excuse. Today I finalized all the prep work for both the '73 Smackdown festivities (running from Thursday to Saturday here) and all the...

Actors Demian Bichir, Adrian Grenier and Nate Parker, along with the writing/directing/producing team of Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck and Peter Del Vecho, who earned Oscars for Frozen, will present at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 41st Student Academy Awards on Saturday, June 7, at 6 p.m. at the DGA Theater in Hollywood. The awards ceremony caps a week of industry activities for the 15 student filmmakers from the U.S. and abroad who were selected as winners this year.
Lee, Buck and Del Vecho took home Oscars earlier this year for the Animated Feature Film winner Frozen, the highest-grossing animated film of all time. Along with becoming the first female feature director in the history of the Walt Disney Animation Studios, Lee also wrote the screenplay for Frozen and co-wrote the 2012 Oscar nominee Wreck-it Ralph. Given that 3 Women is a different picture every time I lay eyes on it, I'm dying to see what other people see in it, too. Thus, this brilliantly strange atypical Robert Altman is an ideal film for Hit Me With Your Best Shot, wherein everyone is welcome to choose what they think of as the "best shot" from the pre-selected film. Find out what others saw in this picture by clicking on the photos to read the corresponding articles at these fine blogs.

For this week's Hit Me With Your Best Shot, we're reairing one of the earliest of episodes. We invited new readers to select a shot if they weren't around in 2010 when "Best Shot" first began so this survey of Mean Girls best shots, as chosen by each participant (click on the link for the corresponding article) is an fusion of old and new pieces 'round the web. Here's my choice:
And what I originally wrote:
The camera tracks Regina through the hallway after she's hatched her brilliant revenge plan. She's regained control of the screaming rage we saw in the prior scene and she's just gliding through the hallways, with a neat hint of actressy athleticism. Gone is the sex kitten and in her place the marathon runner.
The shot functions like a reverse Hansel & Gretel; the witch leaving a bread crumb trail. In the bookend shot that follows the camera is still moving,...

For Earth Day, Hit Me With Your Best Shot returns to Disney's long neglected Pocahontas (1995). Can you sing with all the colors of the wind? The movie uses a lot of them and not shyly: blues, greens, pinks, oranges, yellows, and that glorious raven hair of Disney's most beautiful heroine.

Or I was while rewatching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I hadn't seen the film in about 8 years and it rushed at me which such full force it felt like the first time again... or at least like the most vivid Déjà Vu ever. The experience is disorienting in its speed (20 minutes in and you're already portal'ed into Being Joel Barrish, without quite realizing it) moving in performance (career best work from Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey and a pitch-perfect supporting cast) and fascinating in its premise, looping structure and mirrored ideas (Charlie Kauffman's ingenious screenplay justly won the Oscar). But it's in the realm of the visuals where Michel Gondry and Dp Ellen Kuras bring it all together with imagination, verve and an entirely bold and unusual use of light and focus.

Ever wonder how no one in the wider world knows about the strange stuff that's been happening in Haven? You don't have to wonder anymore: They do know. At least, they know in the strange and obscure corners of the Internet where the Darkside Seekers thrive.
In "Shot in the Dark," the two men who make up the Darkside Seekers -- played by Danny Masterson ("That '70s Show," "Men at Work") and Kris Lemche ("Joan of Arcadia") -- arrive in the small Maine town. They're seeking the truth behind stories of a monster that steals hearts in the middle of the night.
But this is "Haven." There's an excellent chance that monsters have nothing to do with this. Will the two guys find a Troubled person behind the attacks? How will the regular residents of Haven react when outsiders come to town?
Considering how Audrey and William ended up shot...

In response to the dramatic events, TV Fanatic jumped on the phone with Executive Producer Stephen Nathan to ask all the key questions about this week's thrilling installment, as well as when the evil Pelant is going to show up again...

Reality. It's a tricky thing.
The concept of what is real and what is not gets especially confusing on scripted television -- we're asked to believe in a false reality, to invest in it while still keeping our separation. Maybe that's why it's so easy to identify with Brennan (Emily Deschanel) as she navigates realities in the "Bones" episode, "The Shot in the Dark."
Fights suck
The problems of the episode begin with a fight. I don't like fights, especially when they're between Brennan and Booth (David Boreanaz). Sure, two people like these would definitely fight on occasion, but "Bones" is usually nice enough to keep that from us.
Fighting is a reality we don't need to see.
It just gets worse after this. Frustrated with what seems like Booth questioning her parenting skills, Brennan heads in to the lab for a late-night session with the corpse of the week.

Am I alone or does this season of Bones feel incredibly disconnected and unevenly told? Surely, I can't be the only one seeing this, right? Please tell me I'm not alone.
While there have been some standout episodes in Bones season 8, there have been far more episodes where perhaps most of the script never should've made it out of the writer's room.
"The Shot in the Dark"? Felt more like a shoot and a miss to me.
Tonight started out in a decent place and quickly devolved into something that only sort of resembles the show we love.
This season has been about seeing Booth and Bones as a couple instead of just partners, so their fight, while ridiculous and perhaps overblown, seemed normal. Couples don't agree all the time. They argue. Sometimes about things like one person being more spontaneous than the other. That totally happens. It felt like...

In the "Bones" episode, "The Shot in the Dark," Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is the victim under investigation. She may not die, but -- as these videos from the episode show -- she comes awfully close. In addition to the crime mystery, Brennan will have to figure out what is real after being shot.
The whole thing begins because Brennan and Booth (David Boreanaz) get into an argument about worldview and child-raising. As a result of this, Brennan decides to go back to the lab for a night of work.
Want to know more about the episode? Click here for "Bones" spoilers.
It doesn't turn out so well. Fortunately, Booth is feeling sorry about the argument after awhile and comes to make up.
He does get her to the hospital, but Brennan spends a great deal of time unconscious and near death. For part of that time at least, she finds...

How can the Jeffersonian solve a crime when Brennan is the one who gets shot? We will have to hope they can, because that is exactly what happens in "The Shot in the Dark." Check out these five "Bones" spoilers to get a hint of all that happens in this emotional episode.
Brennan (Emily Deschanel) finds her very life in danger when she gets shot late at night in the lab. While Booth (David Boreanaz) does find her quickly, Brennan hovers near death for quite awhile. This injury brings with it a surprising side effect -- Temperance Brennan spends time with her dead mother.
For more, check out these five spoilers from the episode.
1. Cam (Tamara Taylor) initially identifies the current murder victim as Humpty Dumpty. She knows that's not the real identity.
2. Brennan briefly hangs out with a security guard at the beginning of the episode. He is not played by Enrico Colantoni.

Actress Emily Deschanel has spent eight seasons on Fox's hit crime-drama series Bones (TV). The show's success is due in large part to it's riveting storylines and the engaging (if not dysfunctional) relationship between Deschanel's, character Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, and that of FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanz. The two share an intense and sometimes comical chemistry as they unearth the mysteries surrounding human remains discovered by the FBI and attempt to solve various murder cases. This Monday's episode capitalizes on the highly enigmatic relationship as Deschanel's character Brennan is critically shot and wounded at the Jeffersonian lab following an argument with Booth. It's a pivotal event which causes Brennan to evaluate her life, her relationships, and her long-practiced philosophies as she ventures into emotionally unchartered territory. It's a show that Bones (TV) fans will not want to miss. Emily recently sat down with reporters to...

Get ready for a powerful new Bones next Monday entitled "The Shot in the Dark."
As you might have guessed from the title, Brennan is shot. In the dark.
When Brennan takes a bullet while working late at the Jeffersonian lab, she is rushed to the hospital in critical condition. While at the hospital, she struggles with visions of her mother that defy logic.
Brooke Langton guest stars as Christine Brennan, while Ryan O'Neal reprises his role as her father, Max, in an episode that splits time between the events in her mind and those unfolding around her.
All evidence suggests that Brennan's attacker may be linked to the Jeffersonian. Who do you think shot Brennan, and why? How do you see this Bones event playing out next week and beyond?

Is Brennan of "Bones" about to change her views on life after death? When she gets shot at the Jeffersonian and hovers between life and death, the skeptical scientist gets a visit from her mother.
That should be interesting.
The problems begin with a perfectly normal case of the week. Remains are found in a gorge under a bridge.
Perfectionist that she is, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) decides to stay late at the lab. Bad choice.
Fortunately, Booth (David Boreanaz) brings baby Christine for a visit.
But is he too late? Could Brennan actually die?
Sure, it's not likely that a show like "Bones" would kill off one of its main characters, especially when there's another season and a half to go. Still, the experience is pretty traumatic.
While the doctors struggle to save Brennan's life, she experiences a strange visit from her long-dead mother, Christine (guest star Brooke Langton).
This is problematic on two counts.

The Feb. 11 episode of Bones is going to be a heart-stopper — but hopefully not literally.
In the episode, titled “The Shot in the Dark,” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is critically shot while working late in the Jeffersonian lab and while fighting for her life, ends up seeing visions of her dead mother (guest star Brooke Langton).
“[Brennan's] mother has been dead for many years but she ends up seeing and talking to her mother,” executive producer Stephen Nathan previewed for EW earlier. “Ryan O’Neal is in that one, too, and it’s a very emotional episode for them.”
Can’t wait for the episode?...
