16 years ago, the audience saw the first season of Breaking Bad, which later became the most favorite series for millions of viewers around the world. AMC’s crime drama has become notorious for changing its tone, initially containing buddy comedy elements, towards a darker tale about a person betraying all his ideals on his way to power.
The character development of the show’s main character, Walter White, who turns into a relentless drug lord, passed through a number of the essential check-point moments, proving the horror of Walter’s transformation, with one of them standing out of them.
Breaking Bad fans would agree that the most devastating events of the whole show are Jane’s death and the following Wayfarer 515 disaster, closing the second season in 2009. As you can remember, it was White who was partially responsible for both of them.

Agbo, the Russo Brothers’ media company, has launched an innovation department, expanding its physical and virtual production capabilities under the guidance of a seasoned executive team.
Under the new setup, Agbo’s technology experts will build proprietary creative tools, with the aim of fostering production innovation and cost efficiencies. The idea is for Agbo and its creative partners to be able to access the company’s emerging set of tools at every stage of development, production, and post-production.
Innovation will have three verticals: production technology, immersive technology and creative. It will be led by Jake Aust, who was recently promoted to Agbo’s Chief Innovation Officer. Over a 20-year career, Aust has been a producer on The Office and Russo-affiliated titles like TV’s Community and feature film Cherry. He was also an executive producer on The Gray Man and most recently served as Agbo’s President of Physical Production.

Agbo is going AI — at least it sounds like it is, at least in part.
The Russo Brothers’ independent studio announced on Wednesday the formation of a new Innovation department, which will blend Agbo’s “physical and virtual production capabilities.” The studio’s technologists will “build proprietary creative tools for storytellers, fostering production innovation and cost efficiency for content across diverse platforms,” the press release reads. The tools will be used in development, production, and post-production.
When reached by IndieWire, a spokesperson for Agbo declined to clarify how much of these tools will be AI or generative-ai. The use of AI in Hollywood is considered sacrilegious by some and an efficient use of technology by others. The truth is it can be both. AI has been the primary — or at least the most public-facing — issue in contract negotiations between the guilds and the studios.

In the tradition of “The Naked Gun”, the 1950’s detective crime drama series “Tightrope!" will be ‘re-imagined’ as a slapstick comedy series for The Roku Channel, fronted by Emmy winner Ty Burrell and executive produced by “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston for his Moonshot Entertainment:
“…through reimagined dialogue and a new lead actor in Ty Burrell, ‘Tightrope!’ reshapes the drama of the vintage 1950’s series into a slapstick comedy, where Burrell plays a lone wolf detective following cases city to city, while he searches for his long-lost love who got away…”
“I was inspired by the ‘on-the-nose’ old drama series of the 50's,” said Cranston, “to mess with the whole thing and create a new version of a lunatic comedy, never seen before in a TV series.

Ty Burrell and Bryan Cranston are set to walk a Tightrope! for the Roku Channel.
The two Emmy winners are teaming up for a comedic reworking of a short-lived detective drama from the late 1950s (exclamation point very much included). Burrell will star in and executive produce the six-episode series, while Cranston is an executive producer.
Roku made the announcement Tuesday at its newfronts presentation to advertisers, where it also showcased upcoming programming including a travel series from Tracee Ellis Ross, culinary competition Best Bite Wins hosted by Josh Peck and a talk show from John Cena, among others.

It had been a minute since Anna Gunn felt the anticipation of an intriguing script hitting her inbox. Understandably, the incomparable writing she received for a combined decade on Deadwood and Breaking Bad set a high bar. But then the Colin Farrell-led Apple TV+ series Sugar came along.

Co-heads of Apple TV+ programming, Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, served as presidents at Sony Pictures Television when Vince Gilligan walked through their doors with his Breaking Bad pilot script, and on top of having a hand in Gunn joining Sugar, the two executives have been busy recruiting their former Breaking Bad collaborators to their acclaimed streamer, including Gilligan and his still-untitled upcoming series; Jonathan Banks and director-ep Michelle MacLaren for Constellation...

Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman in the blockbuster series Breaking Bad was an interesting role that got its own spin-off series with the actor as the protagonist. Better Call Saul which worked as a prequel to the Bryan Cranston series, was one of the most popular and critically acclaimed shows that put Odenkirk front and center.

Bryan Cranston’s Walter White just had that effect on the viewers! Throughout the five seasons, the show was able to keep its audience invested and is now considered one of the greatest television series, as per the critics.

Despite filming for many years, the actors must have one scene that remains their favorite and for Bryan Cranston, it has something to do with Jesse Plemons’ Todd Alquist. Although the long-running sitcom technically has Frankie Muniz in every episode, the actor recently revealed to other contestants of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia that he did, in fact, leave the show for a while. What exactly happened?
The former child star revealed that he left the sitcom for two entire episodes because of the continuous tension that was present on the set. Muniz’s career took off after he played Malcolm in the lead role, and in a short period, he rose to international fame. Likewise, Bryan Cranston’s career underwent a sea change after being featured in a pivotal role (Malcolm’s father) in the well-liked sitcom.

Malcolm in the Middle is a cult classic coming-of-age sitcom that has left a permanent mark on early 2000s television. Created by Linwood Boomer, the series originally ran from January 9, 2000, to May 14, 2006, spanning seven seasons and 151 episodes. Even though the story ended, Malcolm in the Middle has remained a major part of television history and it is, even today, considered to have raised a whole generation of children and teenagers who devotedly watched Malcolm and his family over the years.
Now, it’s been almost 20 years since the final episode aired, but there have been talks – for a while now – that a reboot with the original cast is in the works. You don’t need to take Jimmy Kimmel out to the ballgame—he’s already there.
Kimmel and his production company, Kimmelot, helped develop a new ad campaign for Major League Baseball last year, and the late-night host called upon an old friend for help: Bryan Cranston.
The call was an easy one, as Kimmel knew Cranston is a lifelong baseball fan. So much so that the Breaking Bad star re-upped this year and is currently starring in new ad spots promoting this year’s Opening Day (Thursday March 28th).
In a new interview with Extra, Cranston recalled how he used to sleep with his glove as a kid, back when he shuffled between shortstop, third base, and the pitcher’s mound.
“I think was a better fielder than I was a batter,” he joked.
Cranston said it was Kimmel who initially reached out to him to get involved in the MLB ad campaign.

For the first time in nearly a decade, Kung Fu Panda is back on screen with the fourth installment of the series. Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is also back to reprise his role in the franchise as Po’s biological father, Li.
Cranston is one of the most versatile actors around, and his genius extends to voice acting as well. In addition to impressing the audience with his charisma on screen, he has also breathed life into characters through his voice alone.
Li is just one of the many characters that Cranston has voiced in his career. And yet, this role could not possibly be any farther from his Emmy Award-winning turn as Walter White in the AMC crime drama Breaking Bad. Unsurprisingly, between the two characters, Cranston certainly had a lot more fun as Po’s father.

Robert Kirkman is Desperate to Hire Bryan Cranston for Invincible and Only 1 Role is Perfect for Him
Bryan Cranston is one of the most distinguished actors in Hollywood at present. He has brought to life iconic roles such as Walter White in Breaking Bad and Hal in Malcolm in the Middle, among others. With every role, Cranston has always pushed the envelope of his skills on screen, and in the process, he has set the benchmark for versatility.
In addition to being a wonderful actor with a magnetic screen presence, Cranston has also lent his voice to different characters. During the early days of his career, the Drive actor took to dubbing various cartoons and even anime, interestingly.
With a wealth of experience and talent behind him, Cranston is one of the most sought-after voice actors in the industry. The creator of the show Invincible, Robert Kirkman, has been desperately trying to woo the actor to join his cast, and there is one role that is absolutely perfect for him.

Tenacious D have unveiled a full music video for their cover of Britney Spears‘ “…Baby One More Time.” The song appears in the closing credits to the new movie Kung Fu Panda 4, and the star-studded video was filmed on the red carpet of the film’s premiere at AMC The Grove in Los Angeles.
Previously, Tenacious D’s Jack Black (who voices the lead role of Po Ping in the Kung Fu Panda movies) and Kyle Gass posted a short social clip of them dancing and lip-syncing to their version of the song. That clip has gone super viral with more than 55 million views on TikTok.
Now, they’ve rolled out the full music video, featuring Black and Gass bringing the hilarity to the red carpet, as they strut around and engage in hijinks with the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Bryan Cranston, Awkwafina, Ke Huy Quan, and James Hong.

Since we’re nearly into Spring Break season for students, the studios are gearing up to release some sequels (usually a Summer staple). I suppose you could consider last weekend’s Dune: Part Two a sequel, though it’s really the conclusion of the original story. Ah, but this weekend’s big studio release is the latest entry in a “tentpole”, a franchise that’s now a teenager (sweet sixteen). Plus it’s an “all-ages” series with a”PG” rating that parents are always searching for (he’s been Mia at the multiplex for eight years now). It’s not from the “Mouse House”, but rather their biggest animation rival for a time. And this was the character they created that truly worked for me (I’m not a fan of the look of the big green ogre’s exploits). Watch out, and hold on to your snacks, as Master Po is back,...

Bryan Cranston has done multiple projects throughout his career; some of them quite brilliant, others failing to deliver up to the expected mark. For 2014’s action/sci-fi Godzilla, the latter was the case. Although it wasn’t a bummer, it wasn’t a massive success like last year’s Godzilla Minus One either, and even Cranston shares similar disappointment with the script of the film.

If anything, Bryan Cranston made it known that he found the entire movie’s script to be a ‘mistake’ from the beginning because of one key element about it: The character who introduces the viewers to the entire story and the one whom audiences presume to be the lead dies at the beginning without even giving the audiences a bond to root for.

As exciting as it is to watch a massive kaiju stomp its way through civilian territory, monster movies are nothing without an evocative, empathetic cast. You need someone to root for while Godzilla lays waste to the world, a point that last year's "Godzilla Minus One" wasted no time proving.
The 2023 Toho film struck the perfect balance between human drama and monstrous spectacle, and retroactively put America's own MonsterVerse to shame. It's no secret that Legendary Pictures' kaiju films, while visually exciting, don't offer much in the emotion department. In "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" and "Kong: Skull Island," the eponymous Titans are meant to be the true protagonists. The human cast are frequently relegated to time-worn Action Movie Tropes as a result, which doesn't make for a very dynamic or compelling experience.
It all began with 2014's "Godzilla," the Gareth Edwards film that brought the Titan back into the limelight.

The original cast of Breaking Bad reunited at the 2024 SAG Awards more than 10 years since the original show ended and almost five years since El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie was released.
Bob Odenkirk, Rj Mitte, Anna Gunn, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Jonathan Banks, Betsy Brandt and Dean Norris made their way to the stage to present Ensemble in a Drama Series, which their show won in 2014 for its final season.
Tonight, Succession won that prize for its final season.
Cranston began onstage tonight by acknowledging their SAG Awards win 10 years ago and he was followed by Gunn, who began noting what each of the letters in “ensemble” represented.

Bryan Cranston casually recounted the time he was briefly a suspect in a murder case during his appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s On Me podcast.
Cranston was prompted to share the tale — which he previously wrote about in his 2016 memoir — after Ferguson noted that recent guest Ed O’Neill revealed he’d once been approached to join the mob while growing up in Youngstown, Ohio. “I was wanted for murder once,” Cranston quipped, “take that, Ed O’Neill!”

When The Office went off the air more than 10 years ago, we had to assume the doors of Dunder Mifflin were closed to fans for good. But, with nostalgia getting a promotion and reboots now in a premium parking spot, it wouldn’t be entirely off base to expect the series to come back in some form. And so how about a movie?
Talk of a reboot of The Office sprouted again last month, but one former (perhaps surprising) The Office contributor has an idea for getting the original cast back together. Appearing on the Office Ladies podcast, actor Bryan Cranston – who directed the season nine episode “Work Bus” – showed curiosity on the subject, saying, “Let’s say that there’s not a reboot series, but what if there was a movie? Something to where we can see where these people are. These people in the entire cast that we’re curious about.

For over four years now, "The Office" stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey have been revisiting episodes of the popular sitcom on their enthusiastic rewatch podcast, "Office Ladies." This week, former episode director (and "Breaking Bad" star) Bryan Cranston stopped by the show (via Entertainment Weekly) and finally said what everyone's probably been thinking: there should be a "The Office" movie.
"Let's say that there's not a reboot series, but what if there was a movie?" Cranston spitballed when chatting with Kinsey and Fischer about his own time on the long-running series. If you don't remember the actor from "The Office," it's because he wasn't actually on screen; instead, he served as the man behind the camera for season 9's pie stand field trip episode "Work Bus." When reminiscing about the show, Cranston broached the topic of a sequel film that would check in on the Dunder Mifflin staff, pitching...

This article contains major spoilers for "Argylle," so beware!
"Argylle" is keeping a lot of secrets. While the film's marketing has been squarely focused on teasing the identity of "the real agent Argylle," the movie has even more twists and turns that add new wrinkles to Matthew Vaughn's spy action bonanza (which is now in theaters). While Universal has been keen on keeping the various plot turns under wraps, some of the "Argylle" cast had a difficult time staying quiet about one of the movie's big surprises.
In "Argylle," Bryce Dallas Howard plays Elly Conway, the author behind the successful "Argylle" spy novel series. Suddenly, she finds herself caught up in the real world of spies when dueling secret agent organizations discover that her novels have somehow been accurately predicting what's going to happen in their web of intrigue. Eventually, Elly learns that she's not really author Elly Conway.

Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey’s latest Office Ladies podcast found Bryan Cranston in an expansive mood. The Breaking Bad star floated some ideas for a revival of The Office, but not for television. Cranston wants a full-blown movie.
“Let’s say that there’s not a reboot series, but what if there was a movie?” said Cranston, who directed The Office episode Work Bus in season 9. “Something to where we can see where these people are. These people in the entire cast that we’re curious about. We wondered at the end, where did they go? What did become of them?”
Fischer and Kinsey were all for it. “I would do it,” Kinsey said. “I would do it for my kids, because I think they would think that’s fun.”
“I mean, if [showrunner] Greg [Daniels] did it, because I would trust it. You know?” Fischer said. “As long as...

Fans of NBC’s beloved sitcom “The Office” got huge news at the start of 2024 when it was revealed that showrunner Greg Daniels had opened a development room to officially begin planning a reboot. Details on a new iteration of “The Office” are scarce, but Emmy winner Bryan Cranston recently floated the idea to some of the sitcom’s original cast members of doing it as a film instead of a series.

The recurring rumors and hope for a revival of the beloved NBC sitcom The Office have returned this week, and this time it’s come from a surprising source — Bryan Cranston. And the Breaking Bad Emmy winner thinks the Dunder Mifflin crew should now be working on a bigger screen.

Once upon a time, on a planet without widely accessible internet, people could spread outlandish urban legends without being instantly debunked. Actually, they can still do that, provided the recipient of said ludicrous information has been conditioned by bad-faith actors to doubt what educated people refer to as facts ... but you're here to learn why Bryan Cranston panicked over a stunt on "Malcolm in the Middle," so let's cut to the chase.
Cranston was born in 1956. This means he was eight years old when "Goldfinger" became a global phenomenon. For kids of his era, Bond movies represented the apex of cinema. It was just about all they wanted to talk about. And people found some amusingly inventive ways to talk about them.
I was born in 1973, and by the time I was old enough to get in on the Bond discourse, one of the wildest stories still making the rounds was that actor Shirley Eaton,...

Sam Rockwell probably isn’t anyone’s idea of a suave secret agent, but that seems to be just the point for director Matthew Vaughn. He cast the Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Oscar winner against type and let him rip with a witty, eminently watchable performance that lets him steal every scene he is in.
If only the movie, Argylle, were a star vehicle for him in the same way that, say, Hitchcock’s North by Northwest was for Cary Grant in its day, this pseudo spy thriller might have been a classic. But unfortunately too much of it, especially the final half hour of this two-hour-plus frenetic action picture, just throws it all against the wall to see what sticks. It will have your head spinning trying to keep up with a far-too-busy set of characters playing mind games with us in a twisted scenario that spins out...

Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle is a caper whose lack of charm prevents it from transcending the thinness of its high-concept premise. At the film’s heart is a frustrated novelist, Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), who discovers that the plots of her pulpy spy novels have inadvertently aligned with the real activities of a renegade organization led by the ruthless Ritter (Bryan Cranston). When Ritter orders Elly eliminated for threatening to expose his activities, the woman must rely on a competing spy, Aidan (Sam Rockwell), for protection.
With the anxiety-ridden, self-doubting Elly suddenly thrust into a life-or-death scenario, the film turns into a broad comedy, which Vaughn plays up with action scenes whose clear sense of movement is their only distinguishing qualities. The closest thing that he has to a visual stamp is an over-reliance on slow motion, stretching out every single stunt so that the viewer can study the grotesque,...

Breaking Bad and Wolf’s Law & Order series had two different goals in mind. From the beginning, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan saw the AMC series as a very finite story. In a 2010 interview with Slant, he even shared that Breaking Bad aimed to be nothing like Law and Order.

As Matthew Vaughn’s latest spy adventure “Argylle” inches closer to its premiere, one important question remains unanswered: Who is Elly Conway?
For those unfamiliar with “Argylle,” the film — starring Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Dua Lipa and more — is said to be based on a book of the same name by Conway, an unknown, first-time author. Indeed, the book itself is real, published by Penguin and available for purchase.
But in a twist revealed by the movie’s trailer, Conway is also the name of Howard’s character, a bestselling spy novelist who finds herself involved in some real-life espionage. The identity of the true Conway — if there is one — has yet to be revealed, and some fans have even postulated that Taylor Swift is the person behind the “Argylle” novel, a rumor that Vaughn was quick to shut down. Awards show junkies got everything they expected at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. Succession and The Bear took home a truckload of golden trophies, with the former closing out its legendary run in glory and the latter just getting warmed up (Hulu’s chaotic cooking dramedy was actually cleaning up with nominations from its first season way back in 2022 due to the Emmys’ strike-related delay) These behemoths left many shows out in the cold, but none more so than Better Call Saul.
AMC’s intricate, thoughtful spinoff to Breaking Bad was nominated 53 times throughout its six seasons but never won a single statuette. Casual viewers took to social media in shock. At the same time, those in the know already had memes and other jokes ready to fire away, as it’s become somewhat of a running gag that the Bob Odenkirk-starring vehicle would never take the crown. Television was a nascent medium in 1949 when Bill Hayes made his debut on “Fireball Fun-For-All,” a zany comedy-variety series fronted by vaudeville comedians Ole Olsen and Chick Johnson.
The series only lasted three months, but that was long enough to set Hayes on the path to become a TV legend through his role as Doug Williams, a pillar of the venerable daytime series “Days of Our Lives” for more than five decades. Hayes, who died Jan. 12 at the age of 98, never forgot the invaluable training he learned from working in the early days of live TV.
“The cameras were huge and immovable back then,” Hayes told Variety in 2018 when he and Susan Seaforth Hayes, his wife of 49 years and longtime “Days” leading lady, were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmy Awards. “They didn’t have the capability of zooming in or out. It's no secret that the production of a television show is quite strict. With a massive cast and crew that needs to be managed, and a hard deadline to meet a season premiere, they must adhere to a tight schedule that leaves as little to chance as possible.
However, TV show creators sometimes manage to deviate from the plan and inject some impromptu creativity into the filming of a scene. This can be the result of a sudden strike of inspiration on the part of the cast, the director, the writer or even the showrunner. But sometimes, this random detour away from the script comes about completely by accident. Whatever the cause, these unplanned flourishes lead to scenes that are far more real for those involved than what might have thought. Because of the added realism, these scenes tend to pack more of an emotional punch or a gut-busting laugh,...

Although Your Honor did not debut to rousing critical acclaim, it was nonetheless successful, likely due to Cranston’s sterling track record pulling in an audience. And so, Your Honor, which was conceived and developed as a one-and-done miniseries, was renewed for a second run.
